Soom Little Gem Monthly Mini Doll discussion (part 7)

...huh. Does adding the wings onto Raphie and Velio really cost over $300 (bringing their base price to over $600 for the nude doll)? That seems much more expensive than previous LGs with similar wing sizes.

 

Every time I see a fantasy Soom doll I like (like these two) once I see the final price point for what combo I want, it always puts me off. :/
I wouldn't want the bird feet without the wings, but both together is too much for me.

 

I wanted those wings a few years ago and was so excited they were being released again, but I'm shocked they cost so much? It doesn't make any sense. Has anyone wrote to soom to ask if it's accurate, because they've typod prices before.


Im also curious if anyone has received the new body yet and how they feel about it.

 

I would also be interested to know if anyone finds out about the optional wings and if they really cost that much. I’m interested in Velio but would like to know if the wing price is in fact a typo or not to really decide. If so, I might be getting my first little gem but still on the fence.

 

I really think everyone should ask Soom. That way they will know that the price is keeping people from ordering.

 

I just wrote to them and I highly encourage everyone to do so, even if you might not be ordering. $300 for a pair of resin wings that can't pose - the price of a tiny doll - is ridiculous on its own tbh. Let alone it suddenly being much higher than any other LG release, despite not being new wings.

 

I'm luckily not a fan of Raphie & Velio sculpt, but also agree that $300 for a pair of wing is too much. Will see what will be their respond.

 

Here's what they told me,

"The wings are very expensive as you said, but that's not a mistake since not only the shape of the wings but also large and transparent, so they're difficult to make.
For this reason, the price of the wings this time is expensive.

We're sorry for your inconvenience but your understanding would be highly appreciated."

 

The price is insane for just the wings.
I guess we can only hope they feel it in the sales and recognize it was too high

 

Yeah no mater how they try to tell us, it's much higher than average for this sort of thing from any company, including their own. I really love Soom but between stuff like this and their mysterious Idealian prices I just can't support the prices. Hoping the sales reflect it too.

 

If offering it in solid resin instead of transparent would be cheaper, they should offer that option imo.

 

I would have loved to order them with the doll - but that price tag is just too much for me. I am happy they are giving us a bit more customization when ordering though. I have boxes of human legs and feet from previous releases I’ll likely never use. If I had to buy the wings to get the doll… I know I wouldn’t be able to justify the cost for an msd.

Casting them in a different less difficult resin would be preferable to me - actually… ah well. I’m going to try my hand at wings - which will be mess - but, hopefully, fun!

 

I asked if they could do a slightly longer layaway and they noped at me. I would have gotten a crow if I had more payment options tho! $250 a month is just not doable for me. I think they are quite pretty tho. Darn it soom!

 

I have been eyeing the new tiger fantasy dolls they released, I was out of the hobby for a while so I’m not sure if they have released these fantasy parts before but gosh they are gorgeous. I’ve completely filled my dolly budget for like the next two years so I’ve been told server all times now ‘no’ So sad! I will have to keep an eye out for second hand in the future.

 

I really liked them too! I like human faces and new body types )

 

I absolutely love my Mylo/Teschen and they’re cute bunny feet. I might see if anyone posts the fantasy parts for the tiger on the marketplace. :3 I would also love the bigger bust for my Mylo but she’s quite old now and I don’t think the resin would match anymore xD

 

I definitely want one for my snow leopard character, I'll have to see if I can budget it first though. Really wish they sold the fancy parts separately sometimes.

I have some Ace legs that I got secondhand awhile back. I haven't put them on a doll yet but they're cute, I love fantasy parts so I snatch them up when I can. Would love some Mylo and Teschen ones too, cute bun is best.

 

I wasn’t able to budget for the tiger, I have too much still on order from last year. -.- But my friend who is still new to the hobby is looking at putting one on layaway. I’m so excited for her! She’s had a couple of second hand dolls so this will be her first brand new. I checked the wait room and looks like Soom is pretty consistent at 3 months.
I remember when I joined the hobby years ago, someone in a neighbouring town had a white skin Mylo that she brought to a meet and it was instantly love. It took me a while but I found a Teschen full set on marketplace in natural. Though it wasn’t the Mylo head, I couldn’t pass him up. I found a Mylo head separate to complete my dream doll. It’s not perfect since their different ages but it works for me. ^ ^
But man I’m bummed about the tiger. I think there are a lot of great characters that could be made with the fantasy parts. I really hope Soom releases them again.

 

Well dang it I didn't realize today was the last day for them and I was waiting for an answer back to a question I had and now it looks like I missed them noooooo!

I have to wait for another WS catboy to pop up now ugh, the time difference throws me off cuz they're a day ahead, other companies' English sites usually match the date here.

 

It throws me off too. I messaged my friend a couple of days ago. ‘Hey if you still want the tiger buy it before the 5th because of the time difference.’ I think she was able to get it in time.

It sucks you couldn’t get him since you were waiting on a reply. That’s the worst but I Hope something comes up quickly for you.
