Soom MD April 2010: Monzo - 'Stone Heart'

I ordered him!!!!! He is just too perfect to pass up!!! I love the body muscle sculpt. I think it looks FANTASTIC!! This is my first Soom doll and my first male doll. I CAN'T WAIT!!!

 

I asked Soom about whether MG and SG heads were interchangeable, and the answer is no. Sort of obvious but it's good to know. They don't have any exact plans to release more MG in the future, either.

I asked about clothing but they didn't respond, so I asked again.

 

Just wondering, if you order with body blushing, would the horns and wings be blushed too?

 

Yes, typically fantasy parts are included with body blushing for Soom.

I really agree what was said a couple of pages back about SOOM appealing to a new group of people. I'm not a big fan of SOOM normally, their face sculpts tend to do nothing for me. Monzo on the other hand, I love his face, I adore his ears and his wings. As a gargoyle he's perfection... as a human he looks like a gladiator who's been taking one to many "performance enhancers". If I had the money I'd buy him in a heartbeat.

 

Oh man, that would be a problem. 'cause I want to get the human body blush, but not the rest of the fantasy stuff 'cause I'm splitting them off.

Anway, Monzo kina reminds me of Illidan Stormrage

I read somewhere there's 2-ish cm difference between the two necks. So I guess it could be done, but it'd take some modding.

I'm really curious about those clothes too. Can you let us know what they say? (Both here and in the waiting room.)

 

Ostrich: Absolutely will do, though I won't see a response until Sunday night. I hope they plan on releasing clothes, because right now there are definitely not too many options. I also let it be known that people appear unhappy about kilts and that they should put some pants into the mix.

There's a 3.5cm difference between the SG(10.5) and MG(14) necks, but I've seen people do all sorts of modding, so removing a little material doesn't seem insurmountable, just that it will actually take such modding to do it, rather than it being an simple switch.

Indeed those are WINGS...it's terrible. I just got Chalco, and now this???? Soom is trying to kill my wallet....and doom my credit cards LOL...MUSSST RESSSSSSSSSSSSIST temptation.

 

My atm card is hiding from me....eeeeeeeeeek eeeeeeeeeeeek! Soom says resistance is futile...we will be assimilated....i've been soomed and my wallet is doomed.

 

Turns off pc, runs to wallet, umm nope, no money there......GAAAAAAAAAAAAH Soom needs to Stop making all these cool dollies so close together ha ha...I still need to recoup from Chalco...

There are times that some get marked "sold out" & then come back .. is especially Olivine & Carnel the reason I'am worried ... as I also saw in the thread about that, a quoted post from soom saying thet they will develop the new super gem (and what will happen with the old?) ... and then when I asked about basic super gem line & Lazule (for how much time more they'll be available), I had no responce on that at all ... they responded the other questions (about this MD & that they don't have plans yet for a basic line of mega gem) , but they left this untouched ... so now I'm even more worried ...

 

I agree it's a bit too much thankfully not that much as the new ID, if it would be a human type only I could use sanding too, but as it is a gargoyle creature well I feel ok with that, ... I have seen some stone gargoyle statues also too excessively sculpted & the fantasy gargoyle figures are usually as much done as this one MD ... so for me it works in this concept ... that's what I noticed to the 1st ID & to this mega gem it is excessively sculpted but in an angular way fitted to some fantasy creatures (& as a coincidence back then I had also gargoyles in mind) , -something I couldn't say for the new ID which is far far more overdone than that & could not work for me this way or any way.-
I think that in a gargoyle MD I can take that body & be ok but if it was for a demon or hooved (etc) god or fallen angel etc I'd prefer super gem body ... I think I want this gargoyle but I also want to see all times classic slender MD with hooves again in the future, cause I wasn't lucky with Sard/Beryl/Cuprit ... and well I'd appreciate a new one ...

I know what you mean , I like them but I'd prefer them bigger too & the holes at the torso hmm I asked If I could purchase an extra torso with the doll but alas soom responded that this is not possible ... I even thinking of moding the torso and make my own wings with fabric & wood ... If I finally manage to get this gargoyle I'll see what I'll do with the size of the wings...

 

Kilts I am fine with. Bring on the kilts!
And from what I hear other people like the long man skirts too.
What we dont like are the short short skirts

 

In my Q&A post I specifically said short skirts.

Y'know, I'm thinking maybe someone must have mistyped Monzo's weight, which is why the shipping cost is lower than normal. They have him weighing 4,000g, where a normal SG male (for this ex, Lazule) weighs 4,500g, and by comparison, Chalco and Galena were 6,000g. Considering Monzo comes with leg, horn, hands, and wing parts, PLUS an all-around taller and beefier body, he should easily outweight them all, or at the very least, match them. No way he weighs less than a normal human SG when he's a human + fantasy bits. Was so nice having to pay $20 less shipping, but I bet it'll get "fixed" eventually.
