Soom MD October: Nephelin – Sacred Vow

Oct 5, 2010

    1. That's probably the best description of the colour so far -- almond blonde. I'm really amazed by the overall colour! I wish, though, that like Onyx, there was a grey (dark grey would be cool) with black wings, even if I had to pass on the almond blonde wig. :...(

    2. Thanks for adding the WR SkunkMght!
heidipay:i wasen't sure at all but i've joint a split as i cannot hold myself and i do want baldy the dragon legs, i can quit the wings, but not the dragon legs!I like too much!

    3. Heidi just try her..besides the funds...i'm sure that you will love her.
      Thanks Dear!
I share the same doubt about the wig color...

By the way i've read this definition on the happy camille wig chart XD

    4. firstly i believe it was a sort of light sepia color, then ash brown, but i guess the best definition is the one suggested by $abbatha.

    5. Fair enough, $abbatha, but I'm glad you wouldn't pass up a doll you really adored over it. :) That would be sad. I don't think it's a trick though -- Soom isn't much for scamming people. I like that they disclosed the wig tip in the gallery ahead of time. I think that's an action we should encourage. Otherwise, how would folks like you and $avage know you should pass up the wig if you get the doll. I think, to some extent, we should expect that these dolls come with 'some assembly required' though -- and don't come clothed or with eyes in, necessarily. Or the wig on. At least the posted about it! :)

Now, on the IP Tokyo Story dolls. Getting them into their kimonos wasn't easy, but it made me love them more. It's weird, but it's true. I've left their hair out long, but I'm willing to try it on my own. Geisha hairstyles are very distinct, with each style meaning something specific about the status of the geisha, and the ornaments about the time of the year, so I can see it would have been very difficult for them to style these for someone, ahead of time. I really don't think it's a cheap trick though. These companies are respectable, I find.

Don't run off, though. You have a right to your opinion. Just like everyone. I think it might be a bit much to call Soom scammers or cheaters (ditto for IP). It's not like Soom is acting like Charles Creature Cabinet (have you seen that thread -- talk about having no words!). Soom disclosed this on their own.

Plus there's what Lazuli says below -- all good points.

But don't run off. We're all Soomies here!

    6. I haven't said that soom scam buyers,i said that it's a trick about wig surely soom acted better than what IH done on Tokyo Story wigs.

Now for IH,i would killed someone to got the geisha wig,no matter if asa one or soo one,but if i ever succeed and receved uncombed the geisha wig then i would became mad..i tell you.

You're more wiser then me X3

      Again this is my opinon,

    7. Lol, Oh man, be strong heidipay! You can do it. No panic purchases this month.

    8. Well, I have the right to express my opinion as well. You both seemed really angry according to all your posts in this thread about the wig. I wasn't flaming you, just clarifying a point.

    9. she is very beautiful

    10. I love her face! But... her wings are too small and spiky for me. And I know she's a dragon, but I can't stand the toe on the back of the foot! If she didn't have that toe on the back, I could probably deal with the wings and would buy her with all the options. Thank God I'm not in love with her because I just bought a Human AND Unikenta Epidos from SOOM!

Dam you SOOM and your horribly beautiful dolls! *shakes fists*

    11. Oh. My.
Nephelin is stunningly beautiful!! Her gracefulness and ethereal quality is making her really, REALLY hard to resist. :D

Though, yeah, it's a shame about her fanta$y parts not being optional (like with Epidos), since there's no place for fantasy creatures in my stories. And IF I WERE to have her, I'd rather work her into one of my existing story-lines than start a new one (complete with non-existent dolls!) centered around her. ^_^

And I agree that her white goth boots don't really go with the rest of her flowing outfit.

Aarrrrgh... already paying for Epidos and the Holidays are coming up... this is definitely the wrong time to start keeping up with Soom's releases!! :doh

    12. I am an inch away from ordering her. This is going to be a torturous month. :( I already picked out eyes and a wig for her.

I'm thinking of hybrid her up with my Heliot girl and maybe find some Topaz ears for her. What I'm thinking is that I'll use her head as my main blood elf character with the Topaz ears, and then use the Heliot head on the Nephelin body as the dragon queen. I'm curious about the magnets for Nephelin's horns though =/ I'm not sure if I'll be able to have them work on Heliot's head.

Does anyone know if you have rare earth magnets in a headcap, even if there aren't grooves in the headcap for them, will they be powerful enough to hold on those horns through the headcap and the wig? I don't know if I'd want to try this scheme out if I can't put those horns on another head. They are too cool not to use!

    13. Yes you can! I bought some Leeke deer horns for my Aphan. I wanted his wig to be sandwiched between the magnets. (So headcap -> magnets -> wig -> magnets -> horns.) Works perfectly! You simply need to attach the magnets to the head cap. I use hot glue so I can peel it off later, but other people use anything from velcro to super glue.

You'd also need to make sure the curve of the horns fits the curve of the new head.

    14. Oh thank you so much for the heads up, Ostrich! That's a good idea to use hot glue too--I like preserving the integrity of the resin. It's also a good idea to glue them to the outside of the headcap (I was thinking the inside of the headcap--just because that's how my Cuprit's works.)

I didn't think about the horns fitting the curve of the head to be honest... I would think they would be okay with my Heliot's head but I hear the male SG's heads are smaller than the female's(???) Wigs can probably be a great resource here to be teased into filling the gaps.

    15. Oh, I am glad to see that the wings can be raised and lowered, that's good to know. I was wondering though, does she have human hands as well or is it just the long ones? I can't really tell

    16. Oooo...she is gorgeous! OK, I smell my next layaway about to begin... but what's with the chunky very plain white boots? The rest of her full-set outfit is gorgeous so I was expecting lovely dainty grecco-roman sandals but plain chunky white boots???? I won't be getting those. If I wanted boring chunky white boots there are a lot of other places I could find them. Even something closer to these would have been nice, just with a paler heel:- http://dollsoom.com/eng/shop/item.php?it_id=1280118685

    17. I agree JenKat, the boots seems a little out of place on a fantasy doll. I wouldn't get them just because I'm not interested in her boring human parts anyways XD but they are still oddly mortal for this fantastic goddess.

    18. Those gorgeous softly green dragon's feet couldn't be more perfect anyway, I'd have to admit (couldn't be happier that she's a dragoness). She truly is gorgeous!

    19. Wow, I love her!
But sadly I cannot afford her. :(

    20. With the teaser pic I was like---eh, but the full body shot with her wings up and dragon feet just slay me. Oh well, did not like my Yur anyway!

I may have to do a layaway, but I have a strong feeling this girl will be coming home.
