Soom MD October: Nephelin – Sacred Vow

Oct 5, 2010

    1. LOL oh no, poor Yur! :o

Somehow I think this doll is making a lot of people look at their collections and make a few decisions though, LOL! I know my Cuprit saw her and said "Don't you even THINK about it!!!" when I started looking her up and down and assessing market value. I feel like my dolls all want to run and hide when a new fancy doll like this comes out, hahahaha

    2. She's beautiful. Far too expensive for me to buy, and too large to fit in my doll family, but beautiful.
Maybe one day I'll buy her secondhand, but only if I can get a Euclase to be her husband...hm hm.

    3. Again this is your impression,i just pointed out my opinion.I'm not angry at all,for what?I don't even plan to buy this MD nor joint in a split.

    4. No two ways about it: if I could get a geisha-wig pre-styled, I would go mad! :D The happy kind of mad. I actually adore both Asa and Soo, coiffed or not. I'll have to try putting their hair up, but I think it will take some reading first for sure! And, good Lord, I'm not wiser than anyone. I do think, though, that all the people in the Soom-watch and Soom Waiting Rooms are like roommates in a way -- sharing ths same space. I have come to call us... Soommates! >ahem< Which just goes to show I'm more zany than brainy.

Edit: Oh, shoot! Forgots to apologize for all the IP talk in here! <g> (It's just they're both such pretty geisha!) Soom should try a fantasy doll type geisha!

    5. You know, there are a lot of Euclases out there, and I have a feeling she's going to sell well too, so I wouldn't put the secondary market out of the question re. what you're saying above! :)

    6. OT too XD
This is the difference between our point of views:
to you the dolls were perfect even with uncombed wigs,to me the combed wigs into a geisha haristyle have the converse a capital importance. But it's just different people with different opinion.
I expect that a limited edition doll is nearly perfect. But that's just me IMO.
FUh..hope that now is much more clear.

    7. MagicBunny;
i guess our mutual expetations about wigs or limited edition in general are both fair, mine as well as yours. ^.^
So on my side it's all fine, we're just debating our opinion a bit, but that's all dear!<3

    8. Oh, wait : Yur loss is someone else's gain, right? :XD: Get it? :sweat

      >Ahems<

Unless it two someone's gains -- a person dying for a Yur on the secondary market, and, say, and Arianne dying for a brand new Soom goddess Nephelin, right? Win-win. :whitetruffle

    9. I just wouldn't want you to miss out on a doll over a wig like this one. That would be criminal! There's nothing worse than a bad case of dolly-regret. Who hasn't had that? For instance, when I missed out on Vesuvia, I didn't look at Midnite's pics of her until waaay too late. She looked so much better without the photoshopping that I just groaned and did a dandy pie-face into the couch cushion. Talk about depressing -- I could have afforded to get her outright... but it was too late.

Again, you know, I was impressed with the creativity behind Nephelin, but not really all that in love with her as a purchase until I saw her without the photoshopping. It' just the weirdest thing in the world how big a difference those plain shots make to what I buy. I'm one of those people who (therefore) generally waits to see if Midnite will be snapping pics to decide if I'll buy in the end. I've gotten most of my Soom tinies that way, in fact.

I'm not sure about this girl yet. I must say though, I'm suffering a little of the colour-complaint. I love Soom in a big way (they own hefty amounts of real estate in my doll chest). But the palette is very neutral. Or is it just me? I hope they do something with a lot of, well, not so much bright, as vivid colours sometime soon!

    10. I think the wig is perfect. Love either style and love the color the most! Soom can't ship the wig as displayed because the braid would be floppy, which I'm sure would be more disappointing then it not being styled at all. It needs to be arranged ON the dolls head, otherwise you can't get that exact same look. The best part is that the owner can arrange the braids however they want. I'm terrible at hairstyling, but I can already imagine a few different ways to arrange the braids that'll look super!

    11. No MagicBunny I agree, the more I look at her, the more I dislike the color choices on her, like, altogher. I think the blushing on the wings and feet is odd, and the overall pale-ghostly-type beauty doesn't say 'Dragon" to me at all. Dragons should be bold and beautiful!

Luckily, her blushing and accessories are all optional, so its not like she has to look that way, but on the other hand, if Soom had styled her differently, I might be more interested.

    12. IMO Soom exceed a bit too much with photoshop, so the color may change also for the face-up, so it's better to order the doll if we seriously like its, i mean i grab the dargon legs as i like it simply, i don't pay too much attention about the blushing, but for a wig is totally different but we'll have to take our chances...

    13. Usually i don't wait any real piccies,my eyes is my best judge.
So i've regretted my lack of money expecially for Vesuvia..i would grab one if human someday will be avaible, even Cass suffered of this overuse of photoshop in soom promo pics..

Look at Gluino,to make an example,he's stunning even blank,he wasen't so handsome in soom promo pics...

    14. I think they've been really awesome about getting pics without the shopping out to us when we ask! There's nothing wrong with the Photoshopped pics -- I find them very artistic! -- but it helps me, personally, to see the plain-Jane shots! I also regretted not grabbing Ves. I wonder if they'll put her out in ns? I have to say I thought Gluino was absolutely devastating in his promo pics! It was easy to see what he was going to look like, I find. It's when the shot is very pearly that it gets hard for me to judge.

Looking at Nephelin's photos -- the photos of her wings, particularly -- just makes me see the real artistry of the Soom sculpt. The artist has to be pretty darned pleased with him/herself! (Or should be!!) I even love how the wings attach -- so elegant!

Skyealloway, I don't dislike the colours, actually, I just would love to see some vivid colours come up at some point. I bet the customizers out there could make this one heck of a bold dragon goddess! :)

    15. Hmm... that's a good point...

I have a Soom Breccia and Ai. When I saw them in person for the first time I felt they looked exactly like they did in the promotion pictures. <3 I love them ^^

    16. God, she's gorgeous!
I can afford her, but can't talk my parents into letting me use their paypal. TT^TT

    17. the pair of long hands look good on her /_\

    18. Oh man, there's my other big Soomy regret! Breccia! I bet she's absolutely fabulous!!! What do you think of her, Missimissi? And do you think she needs a dragon? (I also would love to know what anime your avatar comes from.)

    19. I am 100% sure I would adore her! To me she's a delicate beauty on-par with Topaz and Amber, who are looking at me now with scolding eyes and reminding me that without long layaways, I wouldn't have them either. :sweat But I really need to think about this...I honestly love getting things for friends and family for the holiday season, along with doing charity work locally. Dollies have never interfered with this in the past (ask poor Vesuvia), and as much as I love 'em, I can't be weak.... :doh

Well, I could be weak darnit. But we'll have to see. Maybe a long layaway...

      .hlp

    20. Does your family do Christmas? Maybe you could convince them this girl is the perfect gift! (Which she is.)
