Soom MD October: Nephelin – Sacred Vow

Oct 5, 2010

    1. Well, I have to admit, wings or no, I'm still contemplating layaway for this gorgeous girl... I can always make my mind up about the wings later :) Besides, I for one actually like the braid wig...though it does definately look like a blonde from the less-photoshopped pics. It has a beautiful pre-raphaelite / neo-classical feel to it.

    2. I love the wig myself and like it even more without the styling that Soom advises. I'm pretty sure they don't send it to you stylized because of the way the tiara fits with it :) That's what I'd do anyways. Unfortunately it doesn't really fit with the character I have in mind for this doll so I probably wouldn't get it. It's already a splurge to buy her. Gah! >.< Not even sure if I will.

She sure is causing a fuss!

    3. You don't need to quit this thead,
i don't see the reason why,
me too i have and hard time yesterday 'cuase the wig, but as far as all of us here post simply our opinion, and respect the othre's opinion, i guess it's right to have different taste, with differenr expetations, and to psoted out frankly.
It's all fine, you don't need to go.

    4. That's the most accurate definition for her concept!!!
      GREAT SIGHT!!!!!

    5. There seems to be a lot of divide on who likes her and who doesn't...Kinda reminds me of how it was in the Vesuvia Discussion thread.... Even I didn't like Vesuvia then and now I love her. Home pics really helps me make up my mind about a doll because you see everything - no photoshopping. I love Nephelin and I cannot pass on her. Could the wings have be designed better? I vote hell yes, but I still like them and I think with the right blushing, just for me, I will be really happy. :D

    6. Oh Nina i'm so happy for you, to have different opinion it's fair IMO, at elast everyone have the right to have it's own taste!

    7. To be fair, no opinion is subjective. Saying the doll is beautiful is not a fact either, but you have every right to say it just as I have every right to say what I think. I have no anger directed towards MissiMissi. She likes SOOM and has a right to her opinion as well. She feels it is disrespectful that I say I think the parts look awful and I say I'm not obligated to sing love for a product they are trying to sell me so I don't hurt someone's feelings. That's all this boils down to. I do appreciate others coming to my defense to allow me to speak my honest opinion.

MissiMissi, I don't think you should feel obligated to leave this thread for voicing an opinion that others my disagree with.

That's what I thinking. I think they look really messy and rushed with a nice airbrush job. My fiance is more critical than I am because he deals with really detailed Godzilla resin kits. He thinks the Topaz fantasy parts are ugly so I just ask what's wrong with him. ;) If I could afford this doll though I would probably get it and sell the fantasy parts except for the dragon feet and either make or buy other fantasy parts. She's gorgeous otherwise. I'm only allowing myself one more doll and only a female doll since I already have two boys so I'm preeeettty set on the Limhwa Human. She's one of the few dolls I've seen in personal pictures that looks as good as her promo (SOOM making most of those dolls).

    8. Yeah i got your point of view, but thanks for explaing more.
I do think as you and $avage that MissiMissi shoulden't leave the discussion, since no one here is mad to another, and sharing different point of view is healthy.

    9. LeilaNami i get your point, and i respect it at all, to me as i've already told there's nothing wrong in stated our own opinion, based manly on different tatse and expetations,
you've done clarly and frankly here and i really appreciate!

    10. Sigh, with all this talk about opinions rather than the doll, I'm the one who'll be leaving the room.

      .hlp

    11. I think she's just gorgeous and if i didn't have so many plans for other dolls i'd definitely buy her, but alas, back to my fabulous keny and silt room!

    12. That sucks, Heidipay. :( I hope this nonsense dies down soon and you come back!

    13. I'm actually with you here. Not liking a design doesn't mean it has no quality or that there's no skill or craftsmanship involved. There are a whole lot of dolls out there I don't like, but it doesn't mean the designers lack skill or talent, or that they are somehow shoddy goods in any way.

Edit: Gah, replied before I noticed people were getting upset. Apologies for prolonging things, didn't intend to restir the pot.

    14. I am in love! I had a ten minute crying session over how poor I am... She looks like Breccia's eyes and Amber's lips. And those are my two favourite Soom Monthly Dolls. From the not edited pictures she still looks adorably gorgeous. And I love pearls so her outfit just screams to me. I am still recovering from a shock attack so more later...

    15. I Sooooo want her <3 She reminds me of Galena whom I didn't buy and regret so much. Darn you christmas for making me spend money elsewhere , lol

    16. Personally I adore her , but I LOVE anything dragon. If I had the money I would buy a dozen of her and make them all different color schemes, like the dragons from the movie "Avatar". I had dreams about her in all different color ways all night last night. Oh well, I will have to settle on one and be thankfull I can even squeeze out another "layawake".

    17. I think I may be the only one who didn't notice her green blushing lol. All I saw was pink and her lovely face. I think I was so caught up trying to figure out who she reminded me of that I didn't notice. That being said, I really love it, pink and green are two of my favorite colors. I cannot wait to see how she looks in person. :fangirl:

    18. edit: want to remove post

    19. I think she's fabulous, love her mouth and the dress is TDF. I could totally live without the dragon parts but that face is a stunner.

Sadly, broke here so she won't be coming home.

Opinions are realted to this doll only, aren't opinion off topic, i guess that if one didn't like her have, the right to express it's own point of view, simply, no harm was done on Soom here, i don't see how.At least if we'll have just to discuss about buying or not Nephelin, the discussion here getting really boering, i'm surely among the ones that quit the thread, as seriously i have enought of this flaming basing mainly just on different easthetic taste, expetations, and opinion on doll, at least it's just an hobby, it's supposed to make us happy, not angry or sad.
