Soom MD October: Nephelin – Sacred Vow

I really think she's the female version of Monzo. But dragon could be cool too I guess. Either way, I doubt she'll have hooves.

 

Second. My Sphaler would be beyond happy.

I just did a hard refresh (Ctrl + F5) on her page. For some reason it looks like the colors changed. Now I'm seeing shades of pink on the wing membranes, with greener tones on the wing bones. Anybody else seeing this?

Assuming her sales period starts this weekend there's a good chance she'll be home by Christmas. Best present under the tree EVAH.

 

Ok, there goes other doll plans! Just in time for my quarterly bonus too! Those wings, that gorgeous pale ethereal colour palette...Nephelin has me sold. Need...more...photos!!!

I want to see her feet... Sphaler-like tallons anyone?

I am wondering about people's theories about the name? In geological terms, Nephelin-syenite or Nepheline-syenite is a light-colored, silica-deficient Feldspar. However, the name Nephelin is very close to and often interchanged with Nephilim, human-angel or human-demon hybrids. In biblical terms, in Genesis there is reference to angels who were so taken with the beauty of certain human women that they "had relations" with them - the resulting offspring referred to as the Nephilim / Nephelin (who were said to be the giants and or heros of this world).
Any one else know of any other references? / Theories?

She was an angel but she fell in love with euclase...thus turning her into an angelic dragon...I dunno I just think she's euclases lover....

 

Wow more mineral references! It's quite amazing how Soom comes up with these source names, surely they have a geologist or something on staff that enjoys choosing names!

I'm curious about her legs, but for once I don't believe fantasy feet are necessary to make this an amazing doll. If they are like Monzo's gargoyle feet that would be neat and new. I would rather see her with human feet than something we've seen before (hooves, talons, etc.)

I'm still holding out hope that someday we'll see a crazy long jointed naga/serpent tail.

Oh I'd buy a Naga in a heartbeat, that's for sure. Also hoping for Soom to release something like this one day.
I have trouble imagining any kind of fantasy feet on Nephelin though, be it talons, hooves or whatever.

 

Wow , She looks great so far. I can only imagine if she has lower leg fantasy parts? The wings are a winner to me.

 

If you read the story on Tuff and Sueve's MD page, it says that Euclase fell in love with Sapphire(the daughter of Asopos) and that's how Tuff and Sueve were born. So unless Euclase is a player and had multiple lovers, I don't think Nephelin is Euclase's lover. But that's just my theory, lol.[FONT=돋움][/FONT]

 

Yep, I'd left the page up as a tab and after refreshing it they've definitely lightened the mist and let us see her colours a bit more. Pretty!

I think I'm going to cry... I just ordered my Onyx B&W and am struggling to afford her and now her??? Darn you Soom and your gorgeous dolls! I knew the second I ordered one a new one I loved would come out *digs around for non-existent credit card somewhere*

But about the doll, I really hope (and not at the same time) she has cool dragon wings and possibly some other parts. Having something similar to Cass's arms but with dragon ridges might be cool. I'm curious to see the horns in a better picture. I'll die when the rest of the pics come out, I just know it...

 

I'm going to second everything about buying a naga in a hearbeat - however, I'd like a male naga. Come on, Soom! Anyway, back on topic.

Most of theses guys have mineral names because the series is The Legend of the Gem. lol But I agree, the names are wonderful! And the double meaning is great! I can't wait to see her story! I haven't seen her name pop up in any of the other stories yet.

As for buying her - *sigh* I'm gonna have to think on it. I need the ear/horns like burning, but the rest of her might do me in. I'm gonna be in real trouble if little centaur teenies come out next month though. However, I did just pay off my Aphan. *caculates* And I've only got one more payment on my Io split . . . *shrug* The face is going to be the deciding factor for me.

Oh, and I'd love it if she was big busted! That would be awesome! And, since she has wings, I'm betting she's going to have back plugs like Monzo. *sigh* I guess it won't be so bad. Normally, I'm not interested in girl dolls, but she did take my breath away when I saw her.

 

Oh. My. God. I don't care if there's nothing else on her entire person besides what I see in that photograph. She is utterly bizarre and utterly beautiful and I am a little speechless. Her face looks like Onyx to me, a little (one of my favorite sculps from them!). Just, wow. I can't wait to see more. I'm not even sad I can't afford her, I just want to SEE her! *____*

 

I'll admit i'm disappointed, i was hoping for a mini and although i love the wings and ears i'm nowhere near in love with her face, i guess my wallet is safe for another month and people are going to get decent christmas presents this year for once! XD but please soom can we get another centauroid mini?

 

I don't think they abandoned doing tinies, for those concerned. I think they just reshuffled the schedule. They delayed on Epidos, due to the construction of the centaur body. They may be planning centaur tinies, and it was also taking longer than expected, so we may end up seeing two months of tinies next -- hard to tell.

 

*sigh* I have a character she would be perfect for. I can do without the horns, they are honestly the part that I dislike at the moment, but the hands, wings and face...oh man. *shakes fist at soom*

 

She is so fantastic! I have always loved the light colour scheme of Amber, but didn't know about BJD's when she was released. And now they've released another light themed girl which I am dying to own! I really hope I can find a way to get her.

 

Eh hehe... I think the wallet's safe this month... She's a VERY pretty girl though, if not a little too pouty for my liking. I'd also like to think dragon perhaps? That's pretty cool.

But I'm still holding out for centaur Tinies in November perhaps.
