That's correct. Soom doesnt charge layaway fee. The usual maximum number of layaway per doll order is 4. You can ask Soom if you want a 5 or 6 months layaway but you need to pay up 25% of the order total as soon as you place your order. You can request for this layaway (5-6 months) on their Q&A board.

but now the question is bugging me is: what if they share the arms? °_° Soom didn't mentioned it

 

Well, when I asked about the torso, I assumed arms where part of the torso as well. And their answer said 2 different dolls. So basically, if you order the Human, you get a full complete human. If you order the Unikenta, you get the horse body with a human upper body. And if you order both Human and Unikenta together, you get 1 full Human doll and 1 full Unikenta(human upper body with horse body)! They do not share arms, both dolls have their own separate set of arms.

 

Thank you both for that info -- worst case, I guess if they do another round of body sales with arms only, I'll get arms only. Or buy a pair of arms someone is swapping out or something. Arms aren't impossible. *trundles off to go broke now*

 

I really don't think they'd offer the chance to buy two sets of gripping hands/swords/shields if they weren't offering two complete dolls. Or at least, I hope they wouldn't. I hope someone thought to ask about the measurements. Seeing several pages of questions I wasn't going to bother if it had already been asked (and potentially answered) a dozen times.

 

That was my thinking, too -- I hate asking them questions I know others will also be asking, since I know they get so many to answer.

 

I asked them about measurements and this is the answer I got:

Here are Epidos' measurements:

- Human version => Super Gem male = 65 cm.

- Unikenta version => Centauroid Gem = about 60 cm (can be shorter depending on the position you make him have).

That means I'm definitely not getting him. I need him to be 65 so that he's taller than my other dolls, not shorter than them.

 

Soom really did it. This thing is elegant in every form. I really like it that that they allow for part options. Too bad I'm not getting any dolls this year due to budget and space contraints. He is definitely a work of art. Totally impressed with the unicorn parts and it's elegance. My sincere congrats to those who are getting him.

 

Aw, that's a bummer for you. I had kind of hoped I was wrong about 57 cm being his height (more or less), but I really couldn't see him being 65 cm based on the proportions. This reminds me of the speculation about Monzo, where some were sure he had to be a Super Gem and others (myself included) thought he had to be something bigger. So the 30 cm must be the chest to rump measurement.

 

Has anyone asked Soom about the Centrauroid Gem link and/or about the torsos being interchangeable? I'm quite curious.

I REALLY want this guy, but I think like I said earlier, and so many others have pointed out as well, he looks like Lazule. Since I'm already paying off a Lazule, I really can't argue that I need two similar looking dolls in the same color. I will be less heartbroken about passing him up if I know that the Centauroid Gem line is going to be a basic one that we'll be able to shop from later.

Then again, if the Unikenta form is only $757, it's not utterly impossible to do... >.<

Ok so it is a no on the white skin for those wanting and asking. Bummer. XD I just don't understand how complicated it is to make white skin? I don't even understand why they aren't offering it either. Is it that hard to make white skin?

Did anyone else ask about swapping the human and centaur heads, out of curiosity? I was posting about something completely different and non-centaur related, but just slipped that in as an additional question at the end. They stopped answering right before my post, and I'm guessing it will be the next one in line when they start up again, but someone else here might have the answer for me already?...

 

I don't think its physically hard for them to do the WS. Infact, there's probably no dye/color they have to add to the resin, which would be much easier to make than NS. But if they have different skin color options, it probably just confusing. The way I see it, its probably a lot easier to focus on one resin color for all the human parts, and one resin color for the Unikenta parts. But that's just me. Considering how big off a step forward this is for SOOM, I say that their doing a fantastic job so far.

And who knows, they may have an all white Centaur planned under their Centauriod Gem section.

 

Yeah I was hoping I was wrong too, but seeing as everyone kept speculating I thought the best way to know for sure was to ask them if he was as big as a super gem or not. Ah well, I'd had doubts about him anyway, this just makes sure I won't get him. Maybe in the future if they make a bigger centaur I'll finally be able to get the boy I've wanted for years.

Looks like I'm safe this time around, too. *wipes brow and puts wallet away* The concept doesn't 'wow' me since I've already seen it from Souldoll (although that 'concept' admittedly had some very wonky horsey proportions). Epidos's face is pretty, but he doesn't knock me flat on my back, grab my collar and shout, "YES, WOMAN, YES! FOR THE LOVE OF GOD, GET ME NOW!"

*stares some more* Hmm. He does look a lot like Lazule... I bet we'll see some gorgeous custom face-ups on this boy later on. I look forward to seeing them, although he's still not for me.

Oddly, because he actually is shorter that his human counterpart would make me want him. Plus I rather like Lazule's face. If I had the money, that is. For fun I drew his centaur form actual size (as best I could manage) and he is still huge! Nobody told me about the "starving" part of being an artist or I'd have picked a different profession.
