Personally I'm hoping for a Chollima aka Thousand Mile Horse of Korean mythos...can sometimes come with wings

 

Oh be still my beating heart (and empty wallet )! I'll have to see what the whole package looks, but I'll have to wait and try for 2nd hand later on if he still strikes my fancy! I'd love to blush one to look like a dappled gray!

 

Oh yes, the horse coloring capabilities are endless... Appaloosa would be amazing too... *drools*

Agreed, even though I still think it won't affect me either way, I hope they do offer basic packages that you can build on. I wish they did this with most of their dolls, but I think they specifically avoid that so that they can re-release them later like they did Beryl and Io.

 

I'm really looking forward to this one. I was a week off buying Chiron Centaur, and then this comes out haahaha. We shall have to see what his face looks like.

 

I'm more concerned with what his price will be, we can always swap heads XD
I'm still hoping/dreaming he will come in full horse form, but that would likely kill
me. I've had such a sad & stressful week....please more pictures Soom, don't wait

i don't think the price will be so high, a blank base chiron costs 850 usd so his price could be around the same.
if they sell for more i guess they'll have less sales because not everyone can afford over 1k usd price for a doll.
im pretty sure he will be white skin, normal i don't think, and maybe grey or tan but will be more expensive.
if he's a horse im not sure if i buy but if he's a centaur and i like his pretty face im soomed.

 

If he's a centaur and comes in tan I'm sooo doomed. Eh I'm doomed anyways no matter the color.

I plan on making him into a Andalusian color scheme wise

 

Glancing back at the 2009-10 MDs it looks like the average price is right around $750. It wouldn't surprise me if this boy hits $800, maybe even $900. The extra resin is going to cost more, both production-wise and shipping-wise. Unless he ends up being smaller (Gem). I can only imagine how much "fantasy" resin would cost.

Still no pictures, huh? Drat. I don't want to start thinking up names/stories/colors until I know for sure what he is. A full-blown horse would be very cool. But 1) I don't need one and 2) I don't think Soom would go that route. All their MDs have been fantasy based.

Haha! Yes, this is true! I do wonder what resin colors he will be. Oh, if they offered him in tan, white AND grey resin options? Oh, the possibilities.... *squee* I wonder if I can afford my blank bodies and squeak out a blank one.... I wonder what the possibility of taking another Soom body and and adding it (assuming this fellow is a centaur), or if Soom changed the human body enough to not allow for that for this sculpt? I find this unlikely, but it is Soom, and they just surprised us with more hooves in an unexpected twist! If it's a centaur, I'd love to see the face have a much broader nose than what most BJD companies tend to do (it would be a new step for Soom). Oh gods, if someone came out with a Sleipnir body or modded a centaur? I'm sure someone could add wings to one if they wanted as well.

 

I think for sure they will offer the human body as an option rather than as a fixed part of the fullset, or perhaps vice-versa, a la Keny and Silt, the centaur parts will be optional? They know we do a lot of splits out here in the wild, and may be thinking some people will want the doll and some will want horsey bits.

Anyway, I'd asked about the MD release, as I have to make a fundamental decision about a) Mixi, b) grey body for second Euclase head (which I have promised my guy for two years, gah!) or c) MD. And they said he would be released this week, which is some exciting news!

But for price? I don't know if we can compare the pricing for Souldoll, they may have a different resin process, etc, idk. I know that a base price for a NS Chalco, who came with the skull, the hooves, and a full body besides (oh and the god hands, right) was $790. Let's speculate that casting the horse torso's about the same resin as Chalco's legs, it looks like it might be about the same quantity of resin. So the four legs of the horse plus the tail, I'd say probably an extra $100 to $150, what do you guys think?

Now, if they offer a centaur-only option, with no human bits below the chest area...then I think we'd be looking at a comparably priced doll, maybe even only $50 or so over.

The question for me is, special resin, yes/no? I personally think we're only going to be seeing WS for this release, you can paint it up however you'd like from there, and they're going to want to keep the costs down as much as possible thinking of how much they're already throwing into the pot. As someone else said, the body blushing option alone is probably going to be the price of a MSD!

I can't wait to see more pictures! I hope it's a centaur. They did such a good job on the sculpt. I don't think I'll get one since I like a smaller size, but I'm sure I will drool a lot over it. If they make a Little Gem or Tiny Gem centaur, I'll be doomed... I mean Soomed.

oh goodness if this is a centaur i'm doomed... His body looks far better than Souldolls chiron (who i do actually adore) but i am excited to see the rest of the body lol

I feel the anatomy/muscle structure is much better looking than Souldoll's Chiron Centaur(which I just bought)... I think I'm in trouble!

And I doubt it will be just a horse. To my knowledge, SOOM has never done a "pure" animal BJD, but then again I guess there's a first time for everything!

Edit: I forgot to add this... I was kind of hoping that he will be a Mega Gem. But looking at the anatomy of the horse, I think a Mega Gem will be too "beefy"(muscular) to go with the horse... As long as he has a GORGEOUS face to go with that fab horse body, I'll most likely get him!

 

I would be thrilled with either the super gem or the mega gem torso, visually. Realistically, I would prefer the super gem torso, since I think it would be easier to support and balance. I really don't know, though -- just that those legs look so beautifully delicate that they might be overloaded by a really huge body. Either way, want want want!

 

I have 400 for him already >>;;; Souls are not worth much these days. I hope he wont be too much T^T(relatively speaking )
