It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. Soom Mecha Angel 80cm

Feb 22, 2007

    1. Awesome & gorgeous doesn't even begin to cover it... but 80cm :o :? *_* that's just too tall. Man I never thought I'd say that. :sweat I'm another one for trying the head on a different body because he's just too handsome not to have. Guess that means I'm gonna end up getting him anyway since they're not going to be selling his head separate any time soon. *ouch* my bank account just kicked me in the shins & reminded me about the NYC Dolpa.

I agree w/ JennyNemesis about Shiroishin's comment! He does tend to give anorexics a bad name & I like skinny guys.

    2. His face is really nice....someone asked where you would get clothes for this BIG boy...I would say the childrens section! :) he about the size of a little kid!!

    3. Good one Byouyuuken! Yeah, and he would be put under the catagory with Mecha-Godzilla! 80cm!!! This boy is a monster!:horror:

Im really bummed that he is so huge! He has such a beautiful face that I really want him, but 80cm is just too big.

    4. I wonder sinnce so many of us want either just the head or a slightly smaller size if Soom might consider either makinng the head availabe by itself or shirk the body down a smidge.

      Morgan
*thinks it too bad we can't just run him through a copier set @ 98%*

    5. The more I see of him the more I like him. I can't imagine putting more bulk (and thus more weight) on him, but I do wish that his hands and feet were in scale with the rest of him. He's going to have absurdly dainty feet for someone with such tremendous physical presence.
The head is a very lovely sculpt but it might not work for the character idrisfynn has planned. Maybe I can modify it enough, or maybe I really will have to scupt it from scratch. *_*
I'm glad Soom takes layaway, because there's no way we can afford him this month otherwise! :| We'd wait for a tan version if there was any guarantee that one was really being made. In the meantime, we'll have to add an extra room onto our apartment so there's room for him to stretch his legs!

    6. 80cm...Jeepers, they're gonna get bigger and bigger and take over the world!! *hides behind her imaginary 46cm ABJD dolly*

      I want one...too big, costs a fortune :(
I think having a child of my own would be less expensive.

    7. Nope, BJDs are still slightly cheaper and have the benefit of not telling you off as much. I shudder to think what I have spent on My Little Ponies so far to appease my little ones. This new boy sounds great and still not 1/2 my size. Luckily I sew so clothing is easy. I still think Soom will provide a good range for him.

    8. Hound is 0.3pound heavier than Mecha Angel??:o

    9. 80 cms??? A bit too much for me. That's practically my toddler's height. I_I

    10. I'm not sure how I feel about Mecha Angel at this point. He has a lovely face, from what I can tell, I LOVE his towering height, and I'm lovin' the 6-pack.
I also like the posability of the joints. What a nifty idea to add those notches.

But, even with all his awesomeness... something still looks... off. He's almost skeletal... And this photo screams "Corpse Bride" to me. Those thin legs are only second to Victor Vandort. O__o
There's also somethin' funky about his wrist joint... can't put my finger on what though.

At this point, I'm not sure what I really think. *shrugs* Maybe future photos will help me to decide.

    11. Soom is trying to make enough clothes, underwears and socks for him now.:)

    12. I really like the idea of a doll that tall, but I do like odd things.......I do wish he were a bit thicker, even if it meant being heavier. Plus, I wish his hands were bigger, they almost look small on that body. As for the head selling seperately, I would snap it up in a minute!

    13. Keep in mind, once you see him, he will probably look quite solid. I find Hounds etc look quite gangly but when you see them in person, they look fine. I doubt if he will seem strange when you get him and the thinner build will be easier to carry etc. I remember carting my dolls around to a doll meet and thinking never again, next time I'm getting a trolley with wheels.

    14. I've been trying to think VERY hard about him, I really don't think I can buy him though, not as my first 'larger' doll...he's incredibly different and unique, but he's just not what I've been thinking I could anticipate falling in complete love with. I can't wait to see him in comparison shots though with other people's doll families, he is going to be incredibly cool looking :)

    15. Thank you for being so helpful, I'll be sure to request it. He looks fantastic!

    16. I hope there's a girl version.

      He's AMAZING.

    17. wow he's sooo gorgeous!

but he's almost half my height!!! (hides) a LITTLE too tall for me..lol

    18. I'm sorry if my questions are dumb:

      1. His body blushing (is it air brushed, or some other process)

      2. With his joints (do his joint have free movement or do you have to pull out his joints and lock it in)

He is awsome, he has the best facial sculpt and I am really liking the shown face-up.

    19. michaelmichael,
      1. His body blushing (is it air brushed, or some other process)
      >>His body is air brushed.

      2. With his joints (do his joint have free movement or do you have to pull out his joints and lock it in)
      >> His elbows has free movement. when you bend his knees, you can lock it in slightly pulling the lower leg.

    20. I really love the looks of him, all of him. The only thing that puts me off about the size is the thought of having to costume yet another different size of doll. My 70cm boys' wardrobe already suffers because the 60cm boys have so many more choices and so control the boy clothes budget. Now an 80cm boy? I hope he will be content to be a nude sculpture. . .(maybe a sling shot will suffice, like The David. . . :-)
