SOOM Mega-Gem General Discussion

I want a Gluino in grey ID72 body. I'm confused as to why the all ID72 body skin tones are available for Mega Gem heads and vice versa. But it's so complicated for their own head + body skin tone? Why, Soom... why? I mean the heads skin tone is flexible depending on the body skins. So if they can offer a grey Mega Gem + grey ID72 body or a grey ID72 head + grey Mega Gem body... why can't they just make the dolls skin available for all: Grey Mega Gem head + grey Mega Gem body or grey ID72 head + Grey ID72 body?

 

Gluino in grey on ID72 isn't possible. We can not order a doll of last version and Gluino Mechanic Vampire version was release in grey skin. It is not a new policy, it has always been so in all FC events but hey forgot to mention. I guess when they publish the rules and prices are going to mention it.

 

Oh, thanks a lot for the clarification. It makes sense now. It's an interesting move, to keep the older releases as limited

 

I want to ask something! Is it possible to put a mega gem in an idealian body? Also i want to know if it would look good? Because I'm scared he would look funny >.<

 

It looks OK. Soom posted some pictures for head swaps in during the last event but I can't find them.

Yay! Almost a year and half ago I bought an Ender jackal head with the intention of putting him on a Phonolus body should I ever be able to find one in tawny...and right now I have one being shipped to me second hand! Needless to say I'm super excited! I never though this would actually happen as he appeared to be something of an unattainable grail.

Not quite, he'll be a jackal deity. Not Anubis, but something similar, and still with a heavy Egyptian feel to him. I've loved Ancient Egypt since I was very little and so to me this guy is going to be very special.

I've been so busy I was only just able to put him together. Sadly there's a small chip in his shoulder, but it's easily fixed. He's enormous and weighs a ton...his feet are almost as big as my hands! Oh but I love him. He's so expressive despite being blank and eye-less. Enough of my yapping, here he is...meet Nascence.

Chip on the right shoulder? I have the same issue, probably many megagems have...

 

@Rook_Sever - Thank you! His permanent clothing will be a loincloth similar to what he's wearing now, only it will have bead work as well. He definitely doesn't need any more than that.
The resin on the edges of the shoulder sockets is really quite thin, I'm surprised the break wasn't worse than what it is. So you have the same issue? I wonder how many others have that as well...

I was playing around with eyes today to see what would suit him. These 14mm green ones fit perfectly, but there was a red pair that looked awesome despite being far too large (18mm). I think I'll order a pair in that colour in the smaller size.

Soom sells all it's dolls for short periods. Phonolus was included in the last free choice event. He might be released as a SO in the future if there is enough demand from customers.
