1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Soom Monthly Doll Jan 2010: Chalco - Forest King

Jan 22, 2010

    1. I agree with heidipay and I stand by what I said. Perhaps something went wrong, or they took the wrong pictures. Again, they'll be released soon. Hopefully we'll all wake up tomorrow morning to new doll pictures. If not, there's always the morning after. :)

    2. I wouldn't stress about it too much; they should be up fairly soon. I'm sure they'll likely be up, and he'll be available for sale, by this time tomorrow, at least.

    3. anybody thinking he might have 'bone hooves' ? :) .

    4. Having to wait in this hobby... who would've thought it eh? ;3

Seriously, I'm looking forward to seeing this guy as much as the next person and really hoping he'll work for the character I have in mind for him but honestly, does it even matter that they're a day (or how ever long it turns out to be) late putting him up for sale? As long as they put out a quality product then I'm quite happy to wait a little.

    5. I think she was being sarcastic....

Lol. Maybe he fell over during photos and they had redo the faceup. XD There is just no telling but I wouldn't say they lied to us on purpose. Stuff happens. I'm sure it is because they want him to be perfect for us. :)

    6. I can just hear the angry Korean cursing as he tumbles into their painstakingly prepared set.

    7. People wait months and months for their Soom dolls, what's another few days?

Soom is offering a new sculpt as a fullset every month. They have to come up with the idea, sculpt it, cast it, paint it, order materials for outfits, sew the outfit, take photos, and then over-photoshop them. This all takes a lot of effort and time, and they are doing it every 4 weeks!

Most other doll companies come out with fullsets only a couple times a year, but Soom is working very hard to bring us marvelous fullsets every single month! Doll companies aren't large corporations, but only a handful of people. You have to admire how much hard work they are putting into their dolls.

They are probably just doing the finishing touches to their photos for Chalco. Be patient and they will be posted soon.

    8. Bone hooves would be cool!

And according to the new Haute Doll magazine, all of Soom is made up of just 40 people. That's pretty amazing considering how much they accomplish.

    9. I'm super excited to see this boy! The tanned skin alone! :D

And for those who are complaining about the wait, don't forget, Galena didn't go up for sale until November 27th. So it's not like SOOM releasing dolls late is something new...

    10. This won the spit-take of the day award for me. I seriously needed that laugh. ;)

      *quietly wipes down her keyboard*

    11. merf, and of course i dont have enough money XD
      damn it!!
someday, YES someday, i'll buy one of those soom monthly :vein

    12. @ over-photoshop!! I agree completely with everything you said.
Soom does an amazing job giving us these dolls at the rate they do
(even though I wish they would sloooow down..) so I don't mind waiting
      another (?) day :)

      Bone legs??? Why :?

    13. Bone... hooves... *salivates* It's bad enough that my boyfriend has me stalking the Soom site because he's fallen madly in love with Chalco's face but... bone hooves!? You MAD MAN! Don't suggest that! I have so little money to begin with!

    14. To match his hat of course! XD

I'm still dreaming over lizard legs that won't happen. <3

    15. First bone hooves and now lizard legs... this is turning into the LARGEST list of things I'd like to see Soom make.
Right next to lizard legs however are bat feet. That would be awesome. And oh yeah! Who wouldn't LOVE to have cat legs. A female cat for your Chrom to fight?
But me, I would love to see male versions of the long legged Galena claws. Don't know why, love the idea of a male harpy.

    16. Soom likes to be innovative but at the same time they still want to
sell their dolls, bone legs would only appeal to a minority (not everyone
who buys their dolls runs/joins splits for unwanted parts) and I don't
      see them risking that.

I'm not the least upset they're not rushing to release him: Later release date=good.
The longer it takes the further into Feb. he'll be up for sale, good for currently poor
people (thanks to Soom of course!!)

    17. yes! to match his 'hat' :) while waiting i made up a whole story in my mind about how he was out in the american desert so long his hooved legs turned to bone and he wandered into the labyrinth for shelter :):) (or maybe his ass melded to his horse and his horse turned to bone, but same result :):) )

    18. I think I should stop visiting Soom website. My wallet is crying every time I see their MD.

    19. Tonight I'm not going to make the mistake of WAITING for this doll. If Soomy Soom doesn't hurry up I might just give my business to another company. I've had my eye on a certain girl doll for a while now.

Soom you've let me down in the past, don't do it again!!!!

    20. Sorry darling, but soom doesn't owe you anything, especially if you wont wait and extra day or two to see the doll. Suck it up or just go buy your other doll. I could be buying another doll also. But I am waiting to see what this soom is like because it will be out any time now and my girl doll will still be there two days or two weeks from now. Making 'threats' (and weak ones at that) only makes this room miserable and makes you seem like a fool (and I use that word as a kind substitute).

Does it suck waiting? Yes, of course, but I can't believe how much soom does every month and if I have to wait an extra day to wake up and see the photos then I will and so should anyone who may want this doll for more than the fad of owning an MD or the hype.
