Soom Monthly Doll Jan 2010: Chalco - Forest King

It is the most perfect doll I´ve ever seen: color, wig, eyes, MASK AND HOOVES, OMG!

And guess what? I HAVE NO MONEY TO BUY HIM =D

*cryes*

Anyway, Congrats to Soom for making a perfect doll.... *broken heart*

 

why culdnt they do "option head only"? XD

Oh, my goodness. He is GORGEOUS! He's like, all the things I loved about Io, a slightly more masculine face, and a gorgeous tan, all rolled into one. And I covet those hands of his, I love playing with my sister's Heliot's "god master" hands. He is really expensive with the tan though, even more than grey Galena. He does come with a lot of parts though! And it looks like the horns and hooves are maybe colored resin too, since they're listed as "reddish brown"?

The default faceup is really gorgeous too, though it does give him a rather "soft" expression.

The blushing on the hooves looks like it has a greenish tint?

I love his face up and the wig and the tan skin! What am I going to do?

 

Er, I'm comfuzzled. He has a bull skull mask and goat legs? The descript says he has goat legs. What is he supposed to be? Is he a Pan like creature? Thank goodness he isn't screaming "BUY ME" to me. My wallet can't take another hit right now.

 

Actually Beryl and Sard are more like goat-legged. Amber, Chalco are more like fawn/deers. Ones like Heliot etc. are more horse. But I so love his gear and mask I just have no character for such things. He could be a god of death character with that mask lol

 

wah, just bought a NS Chalco. The face reminds me a lot of Luts Lu Wen, which I adore and love the legs, real shame the head is human though - can't have everything. No centaur now for a number of months at least now *sigh*. My first Soom! gutted I didn't get an Ai though - so so cute!

Did someone say a couple of days ago that the Soom story was that Chalco was consigned to a maze or something (I wasn't imagining this)? That is the link for Chalco being part bull - apols if this has been already mentioned before ...

 

Oh, does anyone know whether Soom NS matches any of the flexi hands available, Dikadoll, DZ etc?

 

Doesn't Soom still sell their own jointed hands? You might be able to pick up a pair if they do. I've got some on my other boy (Super gem + Minimee hybrid ) and I love them. Now, if only they'd release them in tan too =u=

Even though I wouldn't have the money to get him I'm safe.. His skin is an awesome color and his profile was nice... But I don't really like his front on face Also not a fan of the Amber-like hooves again

 

LOVE the tan brown version, to me it gives a more wild and rough image compared to the NS. The concept design (skull mask & Lynnus hooves = AWESOME) and costume are very cool.

Only thing that's making me hesitate and errr on the side fence- is his face. XD
It's very youthful, smooth and some what boyish -very gorgeous don't get me wrong!- just that it some how seems at odds with rest of the quite masculine image. Would have preferred a head sculp with stronger jaw-line, more rugged, possibly even mustached face.

Anybody else feels this way?

 

According to the story, Chrom imprisoned Chalco over a misunderstanding that was done by Galena in her search for her husband. They had gotten married, but because he's such a free spirit, he left after the wedding. He wants to be nomadic and travel everywhere.

 

Yup! I'm not on any fence since the rest of him isn't my type either, but the face is definitely that of a beautiful woman to me. The bone and muscle structure suggested by the sculpt is not one that hardly ever belongs to a male.
Maybe you could get him in NS, and then give him a Super Gem Lupin head or other masculine sculpt? Or get him in brown and have someone airbrush a head to match?

 

Ok I have to be honest, it's making me really happy to hear this, cause I am plannnig on making "him" a girl, and I didn't want to be the only one who saw a woman in that sculpt.

 

Up until now the Soom monthly dolls have exceptionally lovely but nothing I MUST have come hell or high water... But this boy is outrageously gorgeous

Anyway, I absolutely LOVE him!!! I was just going to get (and had the money rounded up for) the human parts only, but it looks like I going to be trying to find a way to get the money for the fantasy parts as well.

 

Thanks that for - had a brief check after you said that but couldn't see any. I did recall Soom making them for the mecha ...

 

LOL I love how he's this MANLY BEAST and then written there "Linuus legs". XDD The name Linus just brings to mind the total opposite...

Ordered me a full set, totally failed my new year's mission of no dollies, but I know this one is a keeper. Credit card is maxed and still had to stick him on a layaway. Time to go sell something valuable >_>
