Soom Monthly Doll Jan 2010: Chalco - Forest King

I like chalco,everything but not the face sculp,reminds me in something rex,but it's my opinion, i like the massive hooves as well,but do like as well the amber hooves,and the hors are truely amazing!
Horns are the most popular parts right now,but let's see when soom realese its how turns out,like the cuprit horns,very popular on the first then very hard to manage for real.

 

Still trying to figure out if I like him enough to buy him, myself. He's tan, and I really want a tan doll; he's a beautiful doll; I love the skull and the boots are to die for... yet I'm not Soomed. What's up with that? Does anyone else have this going on?

 

Yeah I am not completely sold ont he face sculpt. Its pretty, but not their best and not strong enough.

 

Ugh.. I love the idea of him. The face was so great. But the legs? They're exactly like my Amber's with that nub on the back. She absolutely cannot sit. The back of the legs push out and make her lay out straight and slide right off, and I've tried everything. The only way she sits is if she's on something with a gap beneath it.. So no go on him. Such a shame. :-( I SO need another hoovey man. There's to much hoovey estrogen in the Hoofington family!

 

Not usually a fan of the large soom dolls but mmm. >D That boy is hot to trot. I'm a bit iffy on the legwork but those horns, that skull and the TAN! The fifth picture down had me rather impressed. Does want linuuus hands too. ><

 

I've been looking at him all day. So are they able to sit while not in human form? If someone would point me in the direction of that thread, I would appreciate it.

 

As for the sitting and such -- I've asked Soom about it on the Q&A board and they are just one question away from mine! So hopefully we should know about his mobility soon. ^^

Oh yes, I DO want to take him home! Now if only my bank account was totally on board with that plan. It needs convincing. xD

At the Soom notice board, the first message about Chalco says that he is a legend version. Here
I couldn't find it elsewhere too. Maybe that means that the Legend version will be standard now and that he will always come with long legs?

 

just wondering... anybody knows what's a Linuus?

 

Does it say anywhere what size eye he is wearing? I am assuming 16mm.

His hooved legs look to be like Amber's and if so sitting will be a problem.

This is the first time I've wanted to get a doll fullset, inclusive of name and character. D: If only the engineering of the Supergem body was better... I like my dolls to be able to touch their own faces without having to modify them. =_=

Chalco's got such a pretty, gentle face. I do think that it suits his story and his role, but then again, I do have a weakness for pretty boys...

At first I thought it might be an old latin word. But I can't find it (nor anything similar) in my dictionary.
Searched with google, and nothing really showed up either.

I suggest to everyon that still sits on the fence to give chalco a try,i wasen't impressed that much from Sphaler,but i do love Chalco,so my suggest is:think to get him seriously or you will regret it later.

And here is the reply I got about his legs and sitting:

Unfortunately yes, Chalco is most like as Amber.
He has limited range of motion for sitting down, but little better than Amber.
I can't say he can sit down as easily as regular Super Gem boys and Heliot can.

Aww. ;_; I guess I should be thankful though, this will make it easier to pass on him and save for Iple's SID release. I love his face and his tan skin, but Super Gem bodies aren't great posers to start with and the lack of mobility with the hooves is a deal breaker for me. But then, I am a total posability nut, if that wasn't obvious already.

He is such a gorgeous boy though ~ I can't wait to see him in the galleries here. I shall have to be content with admiring him from afar.

 

If you look at the ninth picture you can see that they tried
to show his sitting position, to me it looks pretty good, they
definitely tried to improve the legs...at least better than anything
I saw Amber could do. Hopefully they'll show us more pics without
his cloak so we can see....or wait/hope midnitestar7 can take pics
of him for us
I definitely want him, he's too beautiful to pass up & I won't stand
for another regret, plus think of how much the tan version will be
priced up in the mp!! No thanks
