SOOM Monthly Doll July (Cancer) the Third Land: Bix - Fateful Night

Jul 15, 2008

    1. From what I understand in order to get the claw blushed you have to order the body brushing... someone had the same problem when the ordered Beryl and the horns didn't get blushed.

    2. I think the claw would be with the brushing option.

The brushing was the only thing I passed on, personally, since I didn't want to tack in that and sanding and I have some weird ideas for that arm. If you're going to go for brushing, you probably would want sanding also. I suspect it'd be almost invisible on a normal brushed skin, but with the darker fantasy colors on the monthlies, the seams could be a little more obvious if they aren't sanded.

    3. I so appreciate that they put up those additional photos as requested <3 Thank you, to those of you who asked, that was wonderful help! :) I ordered him blank earlier and I'm really excited!! Hope to get him soon :D

    4. He is a very handsome sculpt. And the extra photos were a help. The full face into the camera was just a knockout!

    5. He is an amazing looking doll. Soom just keep raising the bar with their sculpts and ideas. If I hadn't just ordered a Sabik I'd being super tempted.

    6. the new pics are showing what a great sculpt he has. it seems a lot of us are tempted and for good reason...dark makeup, overbite...who can resist him?
i just noticed in his main page, there is a frame in BW of Bix shirtless from the hips up, showing his normal body and arms.

    7. Wow, seriously quiet in here.
I wonder if everyone who wants this boy has either gotten him or has plans in the works to do so? Seems like demand is low... :/

(Or maybe everyone's still too poor from the previous months.. )

    8. No, I'm definitely getting him, just have been concentrating on finding someone who wanted the crab arm :) I wanted my boy to be the "turf" part only of "Surf and Turf" !

He will be my first Soom doll. Getting those pictures added definitely pushed me over the edge.

Super Gem are basically SD13ish sized, yes? That way I know I will have some clothing for him when he shows up :) I'm not going for the full outfit thang.

    9. SGs are 65cm, vs. a standard SD13 boy at 60 cm... don't know about the length of the arms, but I suspect pants may be a problem, unless the guy's in tall boots. ;) Finding clothes for my Domuya Flexi Perennial (64cm) and SD17 (65cm) is turning ugly... :sweat

    10. It depends on the build really. My 70 cm Luke fits alot of SD13 stuff while my Ying is even hard-pressed to wrestle into Hound sized stuff.

I guess for shirts you can use SD13 ones unless they're really tight fitting, for pants it's just hoping for the best really. It all depends on how much booty they're packing, hip width, thigh width...

    11. Reason I am not getting him, are money, also known as the "still being too poor from previous months" :| Hehe. Plus, I had originally decided that I did not like lazule too much... until I recently saw the SDink version. And... Leo coming up. And new house and a dozen bills to pay. But I really like the human version of Bix- although he is quite similar to my Spinel, so I might choose to scramble up money for something a bit more different. Although...

Bix :drool Plus he looks so much like my boyfriend :( Argh, now I want to buy him again.

I don't have a SD13, but I have tried SD clothes on Spinel. Super Gems have a wide chest, plus they are quite long limbed- meaning that most clothes will run short on the torso, arms and legs. The basic jeans from Iplehouse fit nicely though.

    12. Thanks for the info! I sense a large market coming on for doll clothes that will fit these mid-range guys :)

I have a Yuu and Domuya flex-perennial boys and they do quite often come up short in the legs and lord the DZ's have a broad chest but short arms, relative to some other dolls. I have some custom clothing for him but most things really don't fit him too well right off! The Domuya bods, the SD13ish shirts fit well, but their legs are so leggy... I can hardly wait to see what the Soom boy's proportions are like... but I sense there will be several months until I get him to find out! :doh

      Time to start sewing! :)

    13. Hard to tell on the demand, really. He was the one that finally wore down my 'ONE SIZE!!1!one' feeling, but he's not quite the creature of classical mythology like Beryl & Sard, and isn't the classic lovely or odd resin color like Onyx.

    14. Ah, I ended up buying him at last. Now the long long wait begins. I can hardly wait to see this guy in person!

      • x 1
    15. I absolutely adore him, but he would be the companion for my Bijou (Soom Dia, Rose Queen) and I think he looks too young for her. Poor guy. He'd become a 'boy toy' ... or an appetizer!

However, I think he is one of the most amazing and gorgeous dolls I've seen. Period.

    16. I totally love him! I love the whole concept and everything! Very intense, dark and cool. :D And wow! Is he HOT! *fans self* His face is stunning (and I love that Super Gem body)! Now to find a way to afford him. O_O

    17. The concept behind the monthly dolls is great! If only I had the extra money... and even still I might have to make room for him on the list.

    18. Bix's face really appealed to me... I really love his features and the Presence he gives off. The slight smerky smile and glowering eyes. I bought him already instead of the other boy I was about to buy. I had been saving up to buy him for months... I'll start over now, hehe :P

    19. I have Bix on layaway. He will be my first bjd. I have been looking everywhere for the right one and he was it. I love his face up espically. I don't need his claw arm but I am sure I can sell it in the marketplace when he gets here. :aheartbea

    20. Congrats on ordering your first doll! That's wonderful!

I loved Bix's face-up as well. That was what sold me on him. He's got such an expressionate face and I kept thinking about him and realized that after a week of pining that I should just order him already. :)
