Soom Monthly doll March (Pisces) the Third Land: MA Vega - Last Song

I don't have a name for mine either. I think I'll wait when I get him ready and see how he turns out (ordred mine without the face up, so gotta do it myself first). Maybe then some name will come to my mind. Well, I do have one name but I'm not sure if it would fit him so gotta wait and see. I've been thinking about the box size too, it must be gigantic! I hope I'll have enough strength in my arms to carry it home myself. Or I might force my boyfriend to come with me to the customs to pick up the box.

 

Anybody in North America, have any of you gotten your shipping-notices yet?

Tomorrow it'll have been a whole month since I put the hook in my Vega, and still silence from the shipping-department... *wheeze squirm flop*... I'm dying here...

I have already bought him a silver necklace with a pale aquamarine and the glyph for "Water". It will be perfect. Now he just needs to come home and move into it!

But I will try harder to be patient.

No word here, and I ordered on March 7th. Guess it'll just take some time to reel in such a big fish.

Ah, but Soom is killing me lately with all their wonderful new releases. Ol' Swimmy might end up with some rather interesting buddies. All I've bought for him so far is a really big chair.

 

*groan* Tell me about it... Soom has been pulling a flurry of Muhammad Ali punches on us lately, releasing tall-mature-beauty after tall-mature-beauty. Vega, Deneb, Rex, Beryl, bam bam bam. Where do they think we'll be able to STORE more than one of these three-foot action figures, praytell? ;; I would love to have a lineup of Mecha Angels too, because they have such wonderful character sets, but, gawd! I can't sell my bed just to make room for 3 dolls. XD I'll have to wait & see how small my apartment feels with ONE of these guys.

Can I ask, Sara, where did you get such a big chair?? Is it one of those salesman-sample miniatures you find at antique shows, or is it something easy to find? (i.e. children's play furniture) Until I find such a thing, Mr. Maguro will probably just live on my couch. It's the only place big enough for him. ^^

Day 40 here.... does that mean that the wait will soon result in something good? When I have to wait for more than a month (I know, noob), I feel so disoriented, I cannot really understand that the resin ones are there or that they are mine. I still don't know my tanned iplehouse boys, lol. Woot, why are you guys sitting there?

Among Soom's new wonders, I am now waiting for three of them. That merman better get here before "Mr Tumnus" is released next month. Please swim through the customs, not leaving me a 400 dollar bill Holy cow, what if they ship Rex and Vega in ONE box????

 

Oh noes! ;; Rex & Vega surely cannot fit in the same box...! O_o Geez, I can't even imagine the size of THAT crate. You'd get caught by Customs for operating a human-slave-smuggling ring. XD I hope we don't have to wait as long for this guy as we did for the Iplehouse Tans. So far, Iple Tans hold the crown for the longest wait for me, 3 months minimum (for all 3 of my tan dolls). But mine also didn't have to sit for a month in Norwegian Customs, either... I'm lucky to live in the very city where the US Customs west-coast entry point is.

I've been meaning to ask you, Ravnsvart-- how big IS your living-room, anyway? THREE Mecha Angels in a row, wow. I'm envious of anyone who has the space for that! You win!
It sounds like you'll have a ton of customs-duties to pay ($400? ouch!), whether it's one box or three.... Good luck with the paperwork.

Soom has confirmed that next monthly will indeed be an incubus.

Oh, I'll only have 2 MA... this time anyway, lol- we are talking about buying a house. On the other hand, that might mean having to slow down purchases a lot! My living room is small actually. I have no idea where to place the big boys, my dolls are all over as it is. The twins are residing on my desk Soom dolls seem to like relaxing close to the livingroom bookshelf, claiming it is a library. Oh, the third doll is a Beryl I think one of the boys will be her warlock.

I hope I will not need to pay custom fees for the total value- Norwegian fees for stuff like this will be at least 25% plus handling, probably additional 10%. Yes I know, I am fully aware of the rules.... but I still hope to avoid them, being spoiled by companies writing lower values w/o me even asking- but, but...

 

D'oh-- right, forgot that Beryl is a SuperGem, not an MA. She just looks like she should be 80cm, y'know? Your house will be crowded indeed, especially if you're saving up for Mr. Tumnus to go along with Beryl & Mr. Merman.

I wish I had a big condo with room for a giant aquarium like you see in rich people's houses in the movies, one of those giant tanks that's built right into the wall.... Keep Mr. Merman happily in there. ^^

I don't know if Soom will be asking us to declare the value of our packages this time, but good luck with those fees of yours. 25%, then 10%, not to mention the delays. It must be awful to have to pay the cost of a whole extra doll, just to get your doll out of customs! (I feel so lucky that USA customs doesn't charge duty on dolls, no matter how fancy they are.)

 

The chair is a bit of an odd find. A buddy spotted it in a flea market and gave me a call, since she knows Mr. Fins big mer-butt won't be fitting on any of my current teeny doll chairs. It's old, heavy and made of metal. I wish I could tell you the source, but I'm a bit in the dark on that.

 

Ahh... your chair is probably one of those miniature sales-samples. AND it's made of metal, so it'll be heavy enough to keep Mr. Ten Tons of Sushi upright. You can always find the best, weirdest-sized stuff at flea markets! Note to self. ^^

I have a new open question for anyone: Does anybody know of a translation-- or knows someone who can translate Korean-- for the handwritten text here on Vega's sales page?



Succubus Beryl got a Rilke poem for her sales page... I'm wondering if Ocean Elf Vega gets a poem, or brief history of ocean elves, or his own personal story, or just a nice flowery description of him.

 

I love this doll and I'm hoping to get one! He is so beautiful and I agree the Vega face makes a better looking guy! He is absolutely what I would want to see in a merman. I hope he is still available. I may get him without the tail clothing though to save a little cash ( even though it is beautiful!) Maybe I can make him something instead. I got AN email from Soom today-- but it was just to tell me that they were out of stock of a necklace that was in-stock at the time when I ordered it a month ago.

Well, I ordered him today. I hope that I'm not too late, I didn't receive an email from Soom yet, but my order did go through. Please wish me luck! I ordered him without the outfit, but everything else. He is just so beautiful.

I wanted to ask if the next month release will be an incubus, will he be like a satyr? Where was this announced? May is my birthday month and I have a thing for satyrs.

 

I'm sure if he's still in stock then you're not too late. I don't know if they'll have to mail him later though as I'm not sure if they make them ahead of time or cast them as they get orders.

I think they mentioned the Incubus thing to people asking questions on the Q&A board since some of the people in the Beryl discussion thread were really pulling for a boy one like her.

 

Yeah, it was answered in the Q&As of people lusting after an incubus/satyr (hehehe lame pun/reference intended).

And if Soom doesn't make good on this promise there will be one very angry hoard of DoAers flying ASAP to Korea.....

 

I still didn't receive an email from Soom, I'm sure they are very busy, but I'm so nervous because I really want him. How long did it take those of you who ordered him to receive an email? Just curious and need to quell my fears!

On another note, I can't find the Q&A section about an incubus from Soom, but I was interested if anyone would want to see a mermaid or female mer-elf by Soom? I know I would! I absolutely adore the merfolk!

Okay I know he is limited and I have been looking at his picture all the time at Soom website. I keep telling myself that I am not going to get him I will not get him he is huge so today I finally reason out that I NEED him so I bought him. After checking and paying I went back to the site and it now says sold out so I am kind of glad I got him bec. now he is sold out weird reasoning and my poor wallet LOL

If they make a vega incubus next month I am gonna hit my head on the table or I might end up with another vega, he is the only sculpt I like in the whole soom site so no Vega incubus you hear me soom... I am going to the poor house soon.

I order him with everything bec. I can't do face up or blush, can't sew...can only spend money

Does anyone know if his legs will be blush in blue also? I hope so bec. then it will be weird if he is blush blue above waist and have pale legs.

 

Hehe, I know exactly how you feel chinadoll! I bought him and it's not like I'm regretting it, but I will want to get the incubus when they make him, but I have no idea how I'll get enough money! I'm a total BJD junky! If you saw the wishlist I have, you'd think I'd have to be a millionaire! Plus, I live in a tiny apartment which is terribly overcrowded now, but that doesn't stop me! I'll find a spot for Vega!

Oh yeah, I want to know about his leg color as well, since I didn't order the tail outfit, tried to save a little cash.

You never know if you can do face ups until you try. I am still thinking it over about doing my elf Shiwoo, though I still may chicken out.

By the way, how big is he? I bought him without even checking (silly)!
