Soom Monthly doll March (Pisces) the Third Land: MA Vega - Last Song

Mar 6, 2008

    1. allister7 - I dont regret him but damn he is one huge guy the biggest I have is sd17 so this one will be the biggest around 70 cm. I hope he fits with everybody. I like the whole concept of mermen and his color scheme. As for doing faceup I suck in art so I don't have high hope. I like lots of volks bjds and miss out on alot of them bec. I dont have enough dough but I pick out Maki in the lottory. I hope to also win him but if I dont I still have Vega :)

Just went to check soom and he is actually 80 cm. Is Mecha the biggest of all the bjds produce?

    2. I just got my shipping notice today! [IMG]
      Let's see, I ordered him on March 19, and today's April 29.
In other words, try not to hold your breath too long while waiting.

@chinadoll, congratulations on getting the last of the mermen! :fangirl: At least that's what it sounds like. Usually when a boy is not Sold Out before you get there, and is suddenly Sold Out after you leave, it means it's a good thing you didn't wait much longer. Happy day!

 You guys crack me up! For real-- this dude really IS enough to make a grown woman throw her credit-card right at Soom without even caring about how big he is. He is 81 cm, which is about three feet tall, which is almost up to my hip. We can walk holding hands. XD And yes, that's currently the biggest BJD out there. If anyone makes a bigger one, I'm pretty sure we'd hear the screams.

Chinadoll, that's a good question about the leg-blushing, by the way... They never did include a single picture of his legs. I am going to go on faith & assume that the body-blushing option covers him top to bottom. See? I wanted him so badly I didn't stop to consider THAT either. ^^ Nor did I bother to ask if he comes with that little tattoo. It looks like they like to tattoo their Mecha Angels.

Are you guys both doing your own faceups? I am getting the full blue paintjob & faceup & everything... but I am quite eager to see what other interpretations of ocean-men people will come up with. A green fish, instead? A goldfish? A red koi? A black & purple water demon?

(ps: I don't know who the incubus will be next month, but I think he'll be a Super Gem instead of a Mecha Angel-- 65cm, which is still big, but a little easier for small apartments. My own 1-bedroom is bursting at the seams. Vega is going to be living on the couch!)

    3. You got a shipping notice for Vega already?!? And you ordered him with everything? I ordered mine on March 17 without any of the extras of face ups and still no shipping notice. I just don't get this anymore, what's taking so long. I wan't my Vega too... :(

    4. *pat pat* Maybe they're just starting to get everyone's Vegas finished & packed all at once...? When you wrote here on April 16, you said Soom notified you "we'll ship next weekend", which is just about now. I bet you get yours soon! My notice was just emailed to me today. It's been just over a month, so they're not really THAT late. It just FEELS late. :sweat

But... you still have to wait when he arrives in Customs anyway, don't you? ;;; Arrrgh... I feel very lucky to live here in a port city where the San Francisco Customs Office actually IS, because they usually deliver right away after arrival. We also don't have customs laws that stop dolls at the border, either (for which we are lucky).

    5. My Vega arrived at my house a couple seconds ago so hopefully other people who ordered him will start to get theirs soon as well :)

    6. Congrats, Andarton, spam us with pictures, will you? *3*

    7. Aaaaagagagaga!!!

Oh boy oh boy oh boy... please spam ASAP!
      *boing boing bounce*

    8. JennyNemesis: Maybe that's what they are doing at Soom, trying to pack them all at once. I know they're not really late with Vega's. It's just that he looks so fabulous that it's hard to wait to get my hand on him. In the past I've waited even 3 months for 2 dolls of my dolls so a bit over a month isn't that much really. There's just something about this merman that makes me want to get him as soon as possible. Waiting for Vega has truly felt like the longest wait ever! But good to know that an army of Vegas is getting ready for swimming.

Yeah, I still got visit the custom before I can get the package. Luckily Finnish custom is very fast, atleast where I live. But I do have to pay them a lot of money, about 27 % of the whole costs of Vega. That'll be about 270 USD/180 EUR. It doesn't matter even if Soom would mark the value lower on the package since our custom wants to see the receipt for the order. Or else they're not giving the package. But it's ok, I'm ready to pay the bill. :)

OMG! Congrats to you Andarton! Spam us pleeeeaaseee!

    9. JennyNemesis; I'm sending him to be face-upped and blushed for my friend, who is incredibly talented at almost anything she does. <3 She's done some of my doll's face-ups, and I couldn't be more smitten to her style. We already discussed some colour schemes for my 'little' Leviathan, he's gonna be gray and bruise coloured. X3

    10. Gray and bruise, oh yeah! :aheartbea A Leviathan! C'est parfait.

:3nodding: I was wondering how many Chthulhoids & Krakens & other fabulous monsters we will get to see made out of this release. And I DO hope somebody makes a goldfish, paints him in lovely iridescent oranges & reds & yellows too. And green, I love green for a tropical merman. There are a ton of possibilities for this beautiful webbed man.

(But I couldn't resist the frost-blue look they made for him right there at the factory, so mine will [hopefully!!] look just like the pictures.)

Army of Vegas! ^^ I have this image of Aqua Man's posse all splashing their way into the seas near Korea right now.

I hear you: I've waited over 3 months for dolls before, and done it patiently without even biting my nails. So then... why does THIS one month feel like it's been so damn long?! ;;; Dammit, we want our mermen!

@Andarton, we're trying to be patient for those pics.... ;D

    11. My boy shipped too, he was ordered march 9th, so about time... even if it did not take 3 months- I already purchased another 2 Soom dolls in the meantime  I bet we will have a finny horde, so those still waiting- hold on!

Btw, I expect the Incubus to be a new Super Gem, like Beryl (wonder how long she will take?). I need to see him first, but I am already torn between him, or Elf Sabik- and in WS or NS? Or maybe I should try to save some money instead... but dolls! Cannot wait to see a Mecha Angel in person, not to mention two- and maybe three. OK, slow down girl, do not need Sabik.... just yet?

      *Scared of customs*

I repeat "oh boy oh boy oh boy oh boy!!!!" Where are the pixxies? Oh no, now there is that stage where I am terrified of not liking him. Guess he will point his finny finger at me and command "You better like me!!"... nah, I cannot not like him can I? :...( Oh, curious about the body blushing, but I am guessing everything? Hehe. :ablink:

    12. We've all been there. Seems to happen on the LONG waits:) I had the worst case of it with my dream boy. But once we were face to face, it was all good :)

I can't wait to see pictures of this big boy. Really tempted...*sigh*

    13. JennyNemesis - thank you, I was hoping he will be sold out that way I dont have to buy him but everytime I went to Soom site I still see him as in stock. And he keeps telling me to buy me buy me so I bought him LOL

He will be one huge boy compared to my others, I just hope he wont ask me to get him a companion same size if possible (by the way I only collect large male bjd so male companion). I ordered him with everything just love the whole concept.

Happy that everyone is getting their Vega soon so I can drool while I wait for mine. I am so excited.

    14. andarton: I agree with everyone else. Do spam your boy for us to see :D

    15. Don't feel bad, AnnieStar~ I ordered mine on March 7th with none of the extras and still haven't received a shipping notice either :(

And another YES! vote to being spammed with photos from all of those who have already received their Vega boy! :aheartbea

    16. :aheartbea:aheartbea:aheartbea Congratulations!!! Can't wait to see him!

    17. Glad to hear they're starting to ship! I also ordered on Mar. 7th, and no notice yet, but I bet it'll be soon. Can't wait to start seeing photos of him in the meantime. :D

      JennyNemesis,
I've never done a face up before and would be absolutely terrified to touch Vega, since I think he is perfect as he is, but I'd be willing to perhaps try my hand at modding another doll as I mentioned in my female sea elf post. I would love to see him with different face-ups though as well.
He is a huge doll! Believe it or not, a few years ago I came across a wesite in Japanese that had little girl dolls life size and they were ball jointed. I don't know if they were resin or not, but they were the most realistic dolls! I don't think they were those perved out love dolls either. These were some kind of artist doll. Wish I could find that site again, but it was on my old computer. I'm not even sure how I would find it again, because I don't think you'd believe me unless you saw it. Upon first glance I thought the girl was real!

chinadoll, congrats!:D Maybe you and I will be getting ours around the same time!

I am kicking myself for not getting the tail outfit!:doh

    19. Sara & milkey: Oh no, you two have had terribly long waiting time! I hope your boys would ship asap. I suppose Soom doesn't ship Vegas in the same order they were bought after all.

I've never seen a Soom doll and don't know what their white skin will look like. So I'm hoping to get my Vega before the next montly doll is released and before next FFD sale. Just in case I'd like to order more dolls... There's that incubus and elf Sabik coming too... But I'm not going to buy more dolls before I've seen what they look like. It's funny to have already two dolls coming without knowing exactly what's coming.

    20. ...See? It's a SIGN! If he's not sold out, you have to buy him! ^^ A definite sign from above!

You have to obey the signs, man. As Hunter S. Thompson once wrote, "all energy flows according to the whims of the Great Magnet". I knew that God wanted me to have a giant merman doll (She has an odd sense of humor) because one March day, while I was agonizing about whether or not to buy the Vega 'Last Song', I happened to be playing with the cover of an old Autumn CD I'd was listening to (some obscure out-of-print German goth band)... and I flipped the book over and saw that it was on some little no-doubt-defunct label, called Triton Records. Triton?! Like, the sea-king usually shown in merman form? Well! I don't need any signs clearer than THAT.

But, since God likes to really nail things home with the "aquatic" theme (She's not big on subtlety around me), the album also happened to contain songs called "Pond" and "Sea". Did I really need the Ouija board & the Magic 8-Ball to tell me which way the wind blows? No! Buy Vega Now!! So when he arrives, I think I will name him after an instrumental song on that album, called "Lalyraa". I don't know how a merman pronounces that, but you probably need gills to say it right.

Yaaagh! Is it like that 5-foot Chii doll that kept coming up on eBay, and she couldn't and could NOT sell it? :barf 5-foot anime-faced doll. Oh jiminy buddha, did that thing squick me out. I think I've seen the artist-doll type you mean, though. But for me, 81cm is quite big enough!

Those 'RealDolls', on the other hand. X_x...! But once you stop squealing and squicking, you really have to admire their workmanship. I have to say. If people build fake women that well, we're not that far away from "Blade Runner".

Oh now, stop. You know better! XD Sit back, have a nice glass of wine, and gaze at the beauty of his stock-photos some more. The Fear will quickly dissipate.
