haha, sorry.. for some reason my email stopped letting me know when this thread was updated so I had no idea anyone was waiting on pics. XD

He's not finished yet though so pics right now would be very boring. I need to make him sort of blue-green before I can do his face up! (I got him blank with nothing extra because I had different plans for him than the default look)

 

Andarton - will wait for your pics by the way how do you like the new body I think it says its a new mecha body correct?

 

I haven't had any experience with the old body so I really can't say how I like it compared to that, but I do like it! It's a very nice body

 

Oh my...! What a stunning glittery-blue man! I want to die!

OK, no dying until at least after tomorrow. But he's here! I had to work late today, which means no daylight for good photography, which means that all you get now are artificial-light snapshots. Just a little tease for now. ^^





They've done such an incredible job. The sculpt is more stunning in real life, the colors are more incredible, and I could weep for this faceup! Oh, and the ruffled fishtail, it just kind of keeps going for miles....





He came with his "human" hands & forearms on... so I photographed those first, thinking that I'll want to keep the finny parts on him permanently. But after getting the finny arms & hands on, :... oh they are so THIN! ;; I am a klutz by nature, so I live in fear of just moving my arm wrong one day & shattering off a big piece of one of these fins. They're so very delicate. And the blushing all over him is delicate too. I know it'll start to chip off as soon as I start to move him at all, but I'd like to at least get some photographs of him while he's still flawless. (Wish me luck & good lighting tomorrow.)

Oh, and word to the wise, for anyone who got the whole fullset: Take a Valium before you try to figure out the beaded necklace/ bracelet/ belt thing, and get a friend to help. They give you a diagram, but still... &@$#!! I live by myself, so I wound up using my teeth and needlenosed pliers at some point. Took me a half-hour. XD Next time, I'm waiting till I have supervision (or a spare pair of hands!).

Now I still need to build a giant aquarium...! *happy bubbles*

If you want to explore him further, from the tips of his iridescent ears to the ends of his tail 80cm away, here is his Gallery debut thread.

The eyes are 14mm "Nereides", now that I can see them up close. Soom puttied them in a little crooked but I eventually got his gaze focused where I want it to be.

He is ever-so-faintly shimmery. Maybe they put pearlized powder in the blue blushing itself, or maybe they gave him a light dusting of it, but he's got a hint of frost everywhere you look! Ad the pink-and-blue airbrushing on the fins & ears, that is definitely a little iridescent.

(I will never be able to keep all this blushing as nice as it is now, but I'll do my best! ;; I don't think he'll be doing a lot of travelling anyway, not with those fins on. Maybe the aquarium isn't such a bad idea.)

Anyway, YES! he is real. Not a myth.

I've already taken 65 picture of him today, and have to dump off my memory-card so I can go back for more! I am stunned, stultified and smitten.

I just came home, after searching high and low for my Vega- and I really need to let out some steam! Grrrrrr.

So, my Vega was shipped the same day as JennyNemesis' Vega- only hers arrived a week ago (and oh my, how lovely he is!), but mine is not here yet. And people at the post offices don't even know where he is, so he is sort of "lost" atm. I can only hope that he will show up somewhere on tuesday.

Funny thing is, he left customs a couple of days ago, and I got his package slip in the mail today- went to the postal office, and he was not there. Tracking said he was in the nearest town, so I went to two different postal offices there- but no, they could not find him. I even attended the post central (or whatsit) and made them search for him, nada. I am so excited about this merman, and he costs me half a months paycheck, so I am rather upset about things

Ravensvart I hope your Vega arrives soon. Perhaps he was out for delivery when you were checking at the post office?

Unfortunately, that is not the case

After trying on my local post office, I made my boyfriend drive me to the nearby town where tracking said the parcel was stuck, and I tried both offices, plus the post central/storage, and they could not find him. This and driving took awhile, and I returned to my own post office to double check afterwards. They are not expecting any more deliveries today, so he's probably been left in some car or in storage, hopefully he will turn up next week, or I will go MAD! I still wonder why I recieved the parcel slip in my mailbox, when the parcel is not to be found.
