Soom Monthly Doll (March) the Second Land: Cuprit - Black Frost

Mar 24, 2009

    1. Yes, that's pretty much how you do it. :) Or at least, that's what I did for my Glati and they've accepted the order for him.

    2. Okay, so... she isn't exactly my cup of tea. But then again, I don't warm up to the girls so easily.
... I do have to say, however, that the ice hooves are ridiculously cool. I like the slimmer/taller body too. Hey, is anybody else suddenly imagining a slightly taller and more 'buff' version of the male super gem "legend" body as a counter part to this development?? :nosebleed Lol.
      -V

    3. So..I was not so hot on her face at first but shes growing on me.. I thought about ordering a full set.. But then deiced that I would just buy parts of her.. Well I now almost have the whole doll.. LOL I just have to find the head with the face up and the Horns,, Yeah right...

      I cant wait!!

    4. Are we sure Culprit is slimmer? I hope not much...I bought the outfit to go on my regular Dia's super gem body.. :(

    5. That should be fine, but I usually write it in point form, so it can't be misunderstood  And I always write which payment it is in the paypal comments box each time I pay.

      4 month layaway plan please~

      1st payment (28 March) - $209
      2nd payment (28 April) - $209
      3rd payment (28 May) - $209
      4th payment (28 June) - $209

      = $832.90

    6. The human portion of the Super Gem female body isn't any different on Cuprit. The phrasing of the introduction makes it seem that way, but the "Legend" type body just means it's got non-human body parts. Now that Soom has a backstory developed called "Legend of the Gem" they can call the dolls from this storyline Legend types to indicate they are a fantasy doll rather than their basic Super Gems like Dia or Lazule.

    7. Thanks so much, St. James! I feel much better now. :)

    8. I heard on layaway though not to select 'Paypal' on the Soom site because that will make you pay all the amount? But log in to Paypal in another window and manually put in the Soom paypal account info then the amount for first payment and the dates for each payment and the amount in comment area?...is that right?..but if you mess up you still have a short while to cancel and start over I think on Soom site.

    9. Aha... I see. My bad. The wording certainly does make it seem like they made a slightly modified body for the new legend dolls. I guess the other reason might have to do with the fact that this time around, the large MDs are being placed in the "2nd land", which *sounds* like it would be different from the 3rd land. O.o Apparently not. I wonder what the distiction between the lands is for...? Other than their new story line, that is.
:sweat Silly me, reading into it too much.
      -V

    10. I think the 'land' just represent the different class of characters the MD stories posted by Soom

      1st Land = Easchtheim
      2nd Land = Tweedeheim
      3rd Land = Dreddelhelm
      4th Land = Feadelheim

Judging by the stories, I think it's probably understandable that 2nd land and 3rd Land may be the same size as the 2nd land seems to be the superior leader of 3rd land and in the human world, the Queen is still a normal-sized human?:sorry

I'm wondering if the 2nd Land representative of water may be a Meca Angel?.. It would be quite strange that the superior leader of Deneb and Vega is 10~15cm smaller than his/her subjects....:sweat

Maybe, as the highest being in the land, the 1st Land might be a line of Meca Angels?....
(Sounds like a scary idea to Soom probably.... A whole army of them to be produced and shipped on time)

    11. I think she is absolutely stunning. Her face is so elegant and those wings are gorgeous..

But I have one complaint. It's not with her but with the MD's overall (her included)
Maybe it's just me but I am starting to think that SOOM is sort of over doing the whole hoof thing you know? Since Heliot was released every doll after that has had hooves. Heliot, Amber, Glot & Glati and now Cuprit. Yes yes they are lovely and so convenient for a lot of our characters but..it's starting to lose it's luster for me. For a while it seemed every doll was so completely different. IO being a warrior, Topaz a fairy, Euclase a god, and Vesuvia a lusty scorpion woman! All such different characters and different designs..I really really hate to say it but...I'm almost getting a little bored. :sweat

I guess I'm just a grump who likes to nit pick. Ah well.

....I still want those horns though.
      -Awaits the angry responses-

    12. A mecha angel with hooves... If they would make such doll, and it is female, I will be definately soomed! :fangirl:
I really hope they do so.

And about Cuprit: I really like her, but thank god I don't have a soomed feeling about it. (If I would I wouldn't even have the money for it)

And I love the hooves overload that Soom is causing. Can't see enough of them :aheartbea

    13. I like Cuprit's hooves...
The clear blue hooves give Cuprite an image that seems like she has just appeared out of thin air..

I can understand why there are so many hooved MDs in the lines
The Cuprit, Beryl, Sard, Glot & Glati are all similar existences to demons, so it's understandable that they all resemble Baphomet to a greater or lesser degree...
Heliot is based on unicorn, Amber is based on deer and they are both hooved animals
I think the 'flood' of hooves is probably an impression created by 2 hooved zodiac so close together followed by the darkness demon series

    14. I think most people actually feel the same as you do actually as they've all bought at least one of the hooved dolls in the past.
The fact that we've had nothing but hooves of some sort since Heliot I think is the problem. If they'd broken up the hooved dolls with other ideas in between, we probably wouldn't be getting bored!

Saying this though, Beryl was my favourite of the zodiac dolls but I was too late to get her. When Glot came out I had a spazz because I knew I'd be able to finally get her in her chibi form.
Now Cuprit has stolen my heart as the most beautiful bigger doll I have EVER seen, and while I had no intention of getting a super gem, I just had to have her and didn't even think twice about ordering.
While the hooves have a certain, "WHAT AGAIN?" feeling, I think I'm quite glad to be able to get a super gem sized doll with hooves at last!

However, from now on I'll be a part of the group of people who've all bought hooved dolls in the past and are now bored and want something new xD

    15. I actually agree, since this doll came out I've been like 'oh, Soom, enough with the hooves!' (I'll never keep the hoof parts anyway if I bought a doll with those)

    16. About the "Super Gem Legend version body (68cm)" I am quite sure they finally wrote the body size including hooves, cause the body of Cuprit in her human version looks the same as super gem females and they wrote "Super gem female" not as for Heliot "Super gem male long legs" or something like this. My Beryl is a bit taller than my Topaz and Onyx and it is just cause the hooves.
I am quite sure they means her size with the hooves, meaning "legend" just cause them but, anyway, we will wait for a official answer.

    17. I'm seriously considering taking out a small personal loan for her. She's just GORGEOUS.

    18. erm maybe a stupid question but how are the wings attached? I cant see how they are attached

    19. Thank goodness I'm not fond of large dolls . . . or her outfit (except her cape). The silver, metallic look isn't doing it for me, I think if they were in the colours of her face up I'd be much more interested. But I think I love her head mold the most of the current MDs, and her ram horns! I love her hooves, but I liked the leg parts for Amber better . . . they were more interesting.

    20. Like any company I'm sure they'll produce what sells best and when one doesn't sell as much, they'll veer away. Hooves are definitely snapped up still. I'm not sure how many dolls were sold for Vesuvia or Topaz or other ones. I wish we did have an idea the general numbers that have been sold of each. I find it strange the LE's don't give a number sold like most companies that sell LE's do. Or I may be wrong. I guess it can just mean, once sold, there's no more.

I personally love the hooved dolls, but I understand if others are tired of the same thing. Maybe they should make separate lines...one with just hooves and another with other styles...although that would slow things down even more. Don't want that. That would be bad.
