Soom Monthly Doll (March) the Second Land: Cuprit - Black Frost

I've mailed the English Soom once and Soom Japan once, both times replies came with in a day so you should hear from them quickly though!

And yeah, I'm really thankfully they opened a store here because it means I can really poke at the dolls as well as see them without the wonders of photoshop xD
Plus shipping is REALLY cheap. Like, English Soom to Japan is $20. But Japanese Soom is only $10, making me think all the dolls go to the actual store in bulk then the store sends them out from within Japan. Every doll I've gotten from Korea has been about $20 so!

 

Yeah Soom's MDs on the second hand fetch a handsome price ^^ heck I saw Sard's hooves alone go for a shocking price (dunno if their still there in the market place or not though)

I'm curious of how Cuprit's hooves look up close :0 never dealt or seen semi-transparent resin before XD

 

Well, I don't care about her clothes, but I'd totally love to see some RL pictures of Cuprit from different angles. So, yes, please take some pictures for us

I assume she'll be going in the case under the counter (the FFDs dolls are in there right now) which sort of limits my angles! It's also kinda dark down there and I'm totally against flash! (will use if must though!)
I don't imagine I'll be able to take any works of art but, hopefully I'll be able to give a better idea what she's like!

So I have all of cuprit but the head coming..

I was thinking about this while looking at the photos today.
What "color" do you think the "clear" resin is tinted? In most of the photos it almost looks like it has a blue hue to it.. but its says Ice...and clear???

I was thinking that its clear like Heliot but IDK.. I would like to know becasue I think I want to get a Heliot head for her. I did a fast photo shop on it to see what it would look like and I like it.. Its not great but if you guys want to see it let em know

 

I got a reply that the panty/skirt is same piece. Means I have to get the skirt for it aswell then.

 

To me in looks like.. well.. ice, but in the sense that it definitely seems to have a blu-ish hue rather than being just clear.
As I've said before in this thread, I'm off to see the real girl this week so I'll let you know what the hooves look like then!

Would love to see your Heliot/Cuprit hybrid idea though!

 

Her crown looks as if slightly tinted blue... but her hooves look as if there was a hint of green in them, but maybe it's just the background that shines through/reflects itself in the hooves.

Forgive me for repeating this question if it has already been asked, but does anyone know what the new supergem stats are? I'm wondering about clothes for her as I don't fancy the set she comes with (I haven't completely decided on her yet anyway), but as she stands at 68cm, was thinking she might fit into Dollmore Model doll clothes....?

I just posted that question on Soom a few minutes ago, because they answered my other question that the new Cuprit Super Gem body is indeed differently shaped than the old SG bodies. They wouldn't answer me that Cuprit's outfit either would or wouldn't fit on the old SG bodies, which worries me. I'm getting the outfit in a split to put on either a Beryl or Dia body and now I don't even know if it will fit. This is what frustrates me about Soom. Dollmore is more upfront with their specs and I'm totally not happy right now. But I guess it's my fault. I know there's always a lag with their information. I guess I can put some elastic in if the clothes are too small..

 

I asked Soom about Cuprit's body too. This is what they told me:

"She is based on the Super Gem body, but is a little different. The hooves only for The Cuprit, we designed it only for Cuprit specially."

So it seems it's the same thing as with Amber, the hooves will fit only to this body. Important fact to know for everyone who are going into split of Cuprit.

 

Oh crap... This is important to know indeed... I was thinking to put them on my Topaz, but now I have to change my plans... I have to consider again the splits I have joined...

 

If you look at the last picture of her on the site, and you pay attention to her knees you can kind of see how they are different. There is something about how they meet, are crafted. At least that is what I am seeing. I wonder if soom is trying to stop splits....

Ooo thanks! ^^ I knew her legs looked different. Cause I actually like the look of her legs, they look longer and more slender. I don't think Soom is trying to stop splits, but just probably wanted her legs to look a little different. Like with Heliot his legs are longer which I find very cool. Amber has fuller thighs. I really love these little changes, it makes the dolls unique though hard to split yeah. This is the first time I actually wanted a girl body for my doll lol.

That's the thing though isn't it, with more variations in sizes, comes the need for clothing to match. The answer AnnieStar got from SOOM implies that it's just the leg parts that will be different, as in longer...if the body IS the same as the standard Super Gem, then she should fit some of the model doll clothing - when I had my Beryl some of the tops worked nicely, just nothing too fitted.

 

EDIT: Ack nevermind, just saw the answer.

 

Topaz's fairy parts were distictly peachy tinted, and were airbrushed where they met with the normal resin, even if you didn't order body painting. I'd guess/hope that it'll be similar in Cuprit but with a blue tint. It's so hard to tell what is paint and what is the resin color though!

And I would love to see Heliot's head photoshopped onto Curpit's body! My sis is getting a Heliot and she says I can buy one of the heads if I want, and I was just thinking what a pretty girl he could be. xD
