    2. akiko - Definately will enjoy this doll, just love the whole concept of what Soom is doing taking bjd to a fantasy world.

      Loagaeath - If soom continues making more mythical beasts I am doom. I want to save money now for a Volks Tsukasa cause I am guessing Volks will make him. I will miss Maki will get him one day in the future LOL

    5. Oh my goodness why...!? I JUST saw this thread this morning and now I'm DOOMED! I loved Beryl, but am generally not crazy about female dolls, so I put her out of my mind, BUT NOW SARD! He fits a character I have in mind perfectly, and I love the Super Gem body... so... yeah.... my guy is totally on layaway... I'm so broke. :(

Clothing options for Sard that would take into account his lovely legs have been percolating in my mind for the past hour or so and think I will be needing to get him some old fashioned suits - the ones with the gorgeous coats and pants that only go the knees. Old french ones in satin or maybe victorian ones in black.....hmm...Victorian Satyr - Gentleman version.

      ...Now I just have to figure out where to something like that.

      Had completely forgotten about the jointed hands....and they do them every month? Food for though. ;)

    12. This is a surprisingly versatile doll. He could be an incubus, a satyr, a demon or even an elf, with the human legs (and yes, they do look like elf ears, not goat ears!). I can't wait to see what everyone is going to do with theirs. I think I will style mine primarily as an incubus, as I have had an incubus character planned for ages. What are other people going to do?

    13. Oh good! I got a pair with my order too. I was worried that they wouldn't fit a Super Gem, but the Super Gem and Mecha Angel wrist size is the same from what the Soom site says. I'm so excited! I always wanted jointed hands, but I couldn't get them for my DOI because the resin won't match. :( Atleast one of my dolls will have them now. :aheartbea

      I'm not sure who or what mine is yet, but the original plan was the make him a demon, so that's probably what it will be. I'm thinking he might be based off a Goetic spirit, but I'm not totally decided on it yet.

    14. Sdink has pictures on her LJ and I also saw Chizzie_shark's Dia here so now I can see some differences! :3

      To me, Dia looks, overall, pretty female in most of her pictures. Even with Sdink's faceup making Dia as a man, I still think she looks like a woman with Sdink's faceup, and yet Soom's Sard looks quite masculine...

      So I dont think Sard is Dia tho but a modified Dia (as many of you have pointed out :) ) .

      My speculations for differences are:

      - Sard's lips dont pucker up as much as Dia's (faceup probably?)
      - Sard's eyes look slightly larger than Dia's
      - The cheek below Sard's eyes have been sanded to give a more flat look rather than keeping the chubby, round look of Dia's own top cheek
      - His cheekbones look like they're slightly higher than Dia's
      - the side of Sard's cheeks look like they've been sanded inwards to form a more distinctive V-form
      - Sard look like he has a more defined nosebridge, making his nose look slightly straighter on 3/4 shots than Dia's more curved one on the same shot
      - the areas between the eyes to the nose look more hallow than Dia's
      - Sard's jawline is sharper than Dia, so it looks like they modified Dia's jawline up a bit to make Sard look more angular

      Well, those are what I saw...feel free to add your own if see other differences! :)

    15. Alright... I can do this! But I have to wait two weeks :(. Though its probably for the best to wait just so I can be sure its love not lust. Hehe, incubus, lust :wiggle. I make me laugh. Mine's definitely going to be a Satyr, though. I'm even going to name him Jakk, after a friend of mine, as he's the most Satyr like person I know ;):XD:.

    16. Someone please clarify for me --- are the jointed hands of Mecha Angels the same size as male Super Gems? Because I could swear the Mecha Angels jointed hands are much bigger (following that they are, of course, taller at 70cm and require hands proportional to their size right??) >.< I really wanted jointed hands as well, so that I wouldn't buy another Super Gem body...

      (i'm rather disappointed Soom didn't come up with an additional jointed hands for this + replacement normal ears. i wasn't too keen on the package not having normal ears and jointed hands as an option =( )

    17. I thought I heard somewhere that the jointed hands are smaller than a Mecha Angels regular hands, but bigger than a Super Gem's. I bought a pair for my Sard, so I guess I'm going to find out once he gets here!

    20. Thanks for these observations. I have been doing the same (well, you have to start planning the faceup, don't you?) and I do agree with you. He looks slightly different to the Dia, although they have obviously used that sculpt as a basis. I would have liked more modification of the nose and jaw, to make them look more masculine but, hey ho. I do think SDink has done an amazing job on her male Dia (well, give her a Mr Potato Head and she could make it look like Brad Pitt). I would love to see some more Dias to get a feel for what works and what doesn't with that shaped face.
