Soom Monthly Doll May (Taurus) the Third Land: Sard - Night Odyssey Discussion

I guess with Soom I shoild have bought first and asked questions later! I'm kinda mad. I've been waiting for this doll and I WANT him with a capitol want! BUT as long as he comes back on sale I will be appeased.

 

I assume he will come back, since that's what happened with Beryl. Here's hoping!

 

omg, 4pm's like the time I'm supposed to be going to work =___= (and isn't a customer care representative supposed to be starting to work at a time earlier than that???)

How do you notify them that you have already sent part of your layaway payment anyway? Just by writing at the Q&A board?

 

Usually they answer in the morning and afternoon, but sometimes in the afternoon only.

It's afternoon here and either they haven't restocked Sard or he's sold out again? I've just paid the first deposit on mine. Phew. Now I'm scared something will go wrong. No news on my Beryl, she's paid for and waiting for a face-up. I'm looking forward to getting her, I love the photos of her I've seen.

 

Oh God, I have been sick and I haven't been online to see Sard and now I missed him! The 15th was my birthday too! Oh god, how could I have missed him! I'm sicker now than I was before! Oh well, I knew he would sell out quickly but I have been in love with Satyrs my whole life! What will I do now?

why the panic? He may be in stock later, just wait. Beryl was out of stock, like, 3 times probably

 

Awww poor allister!! That's no fun being sick, I hope you get better soon. But the good news is he's available for a whole month! He'll be back in stock soon.

 

Is that true? How does that work? I did notice that with Beryl, but not with Vega last song. Besides, someone on here said that they were told they were too late. If so then maybe they won't get him again!

I tried to contact Soom directly, but is there someone here, Kelly? who could answer? I realize it's hectic and there must be so much for her!

 

I don't think it's automatic that they will restock, often they don't. If they feel they have too much work, they may not. Kelly has posted that they will let people know about the restock tomorrow. Vega was a monthly special, but I think they set aside 20/50 dolls or so and will run over the month if they haven't sold them all. Vega sat there for a few months so they are unlikely to release extra of him for that reason. It sounds as if they will swap the basic girl to a male body if you wish. Kelly is fairly new to the board and probably still getting used to what happens. Soom's customer service is usually superb. They've been great to deal with and always very helpful. They generally respond a lot quicker than other companies as well.

With limited dolls, it's usually easier to put the order in your cart and checkout then add or subtract to the order later. When you order, put your first payment/payment date a couple of days in advance if you have a question. If the answer isn't to your satisfaction, you can always cancel later. You can always check the number of dolls available by increasing the number of dolls in your cart. A number not sufficient message will pop up if you go over the number of dolls available. I know it's upsetting when you miss out on the doll, but what Soom did with Beryl, I've never seen another company do with a limited doll. Usually it's automatically - too bad so sad, and the number of people petitioning for extra dolls doesn't make a difference either. I'll keep my fingers crossed that Mephistol gets her doll. BTW. Vega wasn't an April special - he was the previous month's special for March. They didn't sell out the full amount in the month so they kept the extras until sold.

not releasing more of vega seems perfectly sound since his month is up. ^^

man, i really hope more of him gets put up, because i think i finally have enough to pay off his first instalment. ;~; it'd be a shame if i missed out on him simply because i was hoping to be able to pay off more on that initial payment...

 

I believe the person that was told they were too late was talking about how they missed Vega not Sard.

Beryl I noticed was listed "out of stock" for several days at a time. I do believe they can only add so many of one item at a time to the website or something to that effect. Hence the fact that Sard still showed as in stock for much longer on the korean side of the website.

Also about the shopping cart - it will expire after a certain amount of time, I don't know exactly how long. Its several hours, I've seen large group order runners complain about it before. It certainly won't keep your potential purchases safe over an entire weekend. Its set up that way because people will start to put in an order and then decide against and forget to empty the cart.

Replies have been made advising those of you that questioned the restock will get your reply tomorrow. Take a deep breath and relax, you guy aren't doing yourself any good working yourself into a tizzy like this.

 

what what what? he's out of stock? i do hope he comes back in stock. the way i see it is he is the doll for may, and may is clearly not over yet, and i have a satyr to nab!

what i don't understand, is why have a month long ordering period and then have the doll "sell out" before the ordering period is over, only to put it back in stock. i get the feeling that folks at soom know they're going to take away the sold out status atleast once on their limiteds. so why not just hold off on the "sold out" nonsense, until they really, truly, cannot take any more orders. what's going on soom?

 

I think they do the couple of days of out of stock so they can play a quick game of catch up before more orders come in. Beryl went out of stock at least twice, I think they will put the boy up again.

 

That would kind of suck if they didn't restock him though. All kinds of people would have thought they could buy him later when they had more money, assuming he would be restocked like Beryl, only to find out they had missed their chance.

I mean he is a limited edition doll, so it's not like they should HAVE to restock him. But based on what they did with Beryl, it would be a little unfair to get everyone's hopes up that he will be available again.

I have a feeling they will restock him though, it just might take a couple days.

 

they have been shipping beryl's out and will probably focus on that for a few then reopen ordering for sard. i doubt they will not restock him before the time is up. they are most likely trying to catch up, beryl was very popular and sard is too so it they are crazy busy right now. i for one ordered both and im crazy busy trying to pay them off

He's spectacular, so I made sure not to look at his picture at all (OK, surely no more than once a day) until he was safely sold out. Of course May still ain't over yet, so I will go back into hiding until he is gone. I was half-afraid of what their idea of a hooved incubus satyr dude would come out like, but no, this is pretty much IT. He's perfect! The coppery hooves, the sulk, the pointy paralyzey-weapon thing on his finger, the kabuki orange eyeshadow, Madonn' mia!

P.S.: Zag, I hope you do get twin satyrs! Rawr! A big 'excelsior' to you.

I'm sayin', man, don't fall back on "it's probably not as good as the pictures" when you're dealing with Soom! Those photos may have far-out backgrounds & moody lighting (& Rilke poems)-- but I swear to you that Last Song Vega looks even better in real life than he did on that gorgeous sales page. The photos may be dolled up, but they ain't lying. Just be prepared for the possibility of Mr. Cloven being even more fabulous in reality.

 

the "out of stock for a few days" thing makes sense, if it helps them keep things organized. :3

So, does anyone know anything about his eyes? I don't seem to see the same eyes being sold on the website, so are they perhaps a special limited color like the wig, or do I just need new glasses?
