1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Soom Monthly Doll May (Taurus) the Third Land: Sard - Night Odyssey Discussion

May 15, 2008

    1. XD I used to hide them from my Mother and now she loves them! She has her own teeny and was talking last night about how she wanted a super pretty goth loli girl doll. :)

If I can squeeze my wages out of my boss in time, I don't think I can resist him. :) :love I said I couldn't afford him. ;) But.....GAH! He's so unusual, and who knows if anything quite like him will appear again.

(Plus I would want him totally blank, so...I am imagining later marketplace Sards with face-ups and all sorts of looks and mods etc......)

    2. I've ordered Beryl and Sard. I was worried the secondhand prices would be pretty high or people would only sell them without the hooves or horns. It looks as if most people are happy with their Beryls. Mine should be arriving here next week. Now I'm going to focus on paying off Sard and getting him here quickly. I can't wait until he starts arriving and we get to see photos.

    3. brighnasa>> would a DIY job in something bakeable like sculpey or modding stuff like epoxy suffice? i might be able to persuade some of the guys here to rig up a set for me!!

    4. He's an absolute carousel for the eyes. I was uneasy at first, seeing as I'm only just coming to the end of another long transaction - but it certainly looks like I'll be layawaying for a good few more months to welcome one of these boys into my home! My Mother Unit and I fell in love with this chap quite quickly, and it certainly looks like we weren't of the majority.

    5. brighnasa- you know those bouncy rubber balls that you can get from a gumdrop machine for a quarter? do you know if you could use those or is the rubber too soft.
(this could easily become a cheap fun crafts project for me :) )

    6. I bet that would work, as long as the sculpey/modding stuff doesn't crumble easily. It's worth a try! These things are super convenient for changing clothes, and if they work on the Beryl/Sard hooves, it would really help for getting them in pants.

The transparent gel like ones are definitely too soft, I've tried those, but the ones that look like rubber might work.

    7. brighnasa>> damn straight it would. ^o^ i imagine clothing them without hoof-removal would be a real pain!! >< nothing would fit right.

      i hope the sculpey/epoxy will be strong enough, then. ^^;;

    8. I think I might be missing something here. Is there any distinct advantage to using the rubber ball idea as opposed to just changing the hooves for the human feet for getting clothing on?

    9. Hm I wondered the same thing but then I thought about how the feet might not sit well with the hoof ankle design. Might cause scratching etc. with how the two would sit on eachother since its not the same shape as the human leg ankle.

    10. Ah...good point.

    11. I wonder if it would be possible to cut a circle of felt with a hole in the middle to slide around the hook like a buffer? It may help prevent scratching. It might be a good idea to do this if making a ball-hook thing out of a harder material like sculpey as well for the same reasons.

    12. I've seen little wooden balls of different sizes at the craft store too, I bet that wouldn't probably work if you couldn't find rubber that was dense enough.

    13. I have seen those too and since they have a hole going through them it would be very easy to work up a hook mechanism.
      surreality
I also agree the felt or even maybe a soft rubber would help. In metalsmithing we often use cut up parts of like kickballs and things for protection. Just an idea~

    14. Just a little fyi for those of us paying on layaway with soom... those gift certificates they have? Can be used to pay off layaway :3nodding:. They come in small denominations as well so if you have friends or relatives that don't know what to get you for your birthday... ;) every little bit helps!

    15. now THAT is some really helpful information XD

    16. oh really? now i just need an excuse for my friend's and family to want to give me one as my birthday's passed. is "a job well done in life" sufficient? i pay my rent on time???

    17. dang! Soom's dolls rock my world... Sard is awesome! I can't wait to see some user pics of this guy!

    18. OoooooOOOooo... hadn't thought about that!

      But now I am! :love

    19. Here's a goofy question - does anyone know if the Sard hoof legs will go onto any other type of body, particularly female? I love the shape of them, but the character I have in mind is female. :doh

    20. Freaqish > Why don't you try a Beryl? She's the female satyr you are waiting for, apparently (and don't worry, she will be back). ^^
