1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Soom Monthly Doll May (Taurus) the Third Land: Sard - Night Odyssey Discussion

May 15, 2008

    1. Yay Vampkat7! Sard certainly is tall with his hooves on. He is fractionally taller than my Dollshe boy and Dollmore Model boy and fits in very well with them. Thankfully my Hye is to be my Saint's 13 year old daughter, so I have the scale thing covered. Can't wait to see your pics.

    2. Here is my boy, finally done! Here is Abraxas!

It took a long time, but he was totally worth it :)

    3. Abraxas looks very sylvan! :D

    4. I really hope they re-release him, can't believe I missed out on this amazing doll :(

    5. That is unlikely, but there is always the marketplace. Don't give up hope searching if you want him! :)

    6. I suppose it is :( I think I'm going to make it my marketplace mission then, he's far too perfect to give up on :D

    7. I just have to say that Soom = <3

I just love looking at him.

    8. Could someone refresh my memory as to the sard's wig size? I have been having a horrible time buying wigs lately, and this time I want the one I get to be right. D8

    9. Super Gem boys are a 9-10.... probably closer to a 10.

    10. Don't forget that Sard is based on the Dia head, so quite small. Dollmore 8-9 is a bit loose, Monique 7-8 a bit tight (but they do come up small), so a true 8 might be the best bet (depending on brand).

    11. my LUTS wig is a bit loose on him. i think he fits 8-9" wigs, closer to the 8" side.

    12. 8-9" stretch cap wigs fit my SGs best. 9-10" is a tad loose.

    13. Well, I think the wig being a little larger would be better than a little smaller, so I'm going to go with a monique 8-9. 8D Thanks for the info everyone!

    14. Oh dear... I may have found a new doll to love and look for. I'm very new yo BJDs but I'm a Taurus and I LOVE satyrs. I'd satyr-ize one of these immediately with warmer eyes, wooly hair and fur bloomers. Perhaps Sag or Capricorn will have similar legs.

    15. So...I've finally done enough blushing to string my boy's hooves on and I have a quick question for those of you who may be in a similar boat...
My boy was quite floppy when he arrived, (human legs on). I figured, naturally he would tighten up when I put the hooves on.

But he is still pretty darn floppy, especially through the torso.

So I'm wondering now if the floppiness is due to the design or if I simply need to tighten his elastics, (not looking forward to that as the knot seems to be in the chest somewhere...).

Any other floppy Sards out there? Or should I bust out the ribbon and stringing tool again and restring him?

    16. Mine was floppy when he came in and, whilst he stood fine, he kept flipping backwards from the waist joint. I tightened him slightly and it cured the limbo dance tendency fine and didn't affect the mobility of the legs.

    17. I think someone mentioned that superglue might not react well with Soom resin? Is that true? Because hot glue (at least what I'm using) doesn't seem to be strong enough for these Soom magnets, and i think superglue might be my best shot. x_x I'm sick of having to re-glue his magnets each time I open his head to move his eyes. D:

    18. arrowchild, surprisingly my Sard was not floppy but my Sabik was; tightening the elastic should work temporarily. your boy will probably have to be restrung again in several months because elastic looses their elasticity over time. :sweat

kiradyn_rhiode, my boy's magnet came out after I gave him eyes too which was the very first day! XD; I've had two other heads at my house have their magnets popped off too. I realized that if you lightly hammer the magnets back into the head, it usually works. if that doesnt then I dont know since I havent tried super glue. :sweat

    19. I am so scared!! I have Sard ( also Vega last song) and i'm kind of afraid to restring him. I've never done it. Is it difficult? also can anyone tell me how you get the jointed hands on?

      Thanks again!

    20. Hot glue definitely wasn't working for me either. XD I used a quicksetting epoxy for my boy's magnets (as well as replacing the magnet that escaped from my Migi Jina!). It's not "superglue" (that's cyanoacrylate, which generally sets immediately), I'll check on the exact brand and composition when I get home. It is a craft glue that works for multiple materials (among them metal and plastic), smooth surfaces, and does not have a flexible finish (that's good for some things, but didn't need it in this case ;). It's the type of glue that needs to be put on each surface, left to set for a short time (15 minutes or so), and then the two surfaces are placed together.

I don't know if there is some interaction danger with the resin, but it seemed fine for the few days I had him before I sent him out for a faceup. XD; My Jina is fine, but her magnets are much smaller. ;)
