1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Soom Monthly Doll May (Taurus) the Third Land: Sard - Night Odyssey Discussion

May 15, 2008

    1. It turned out there was just a teeny bit of resin in one channel and the other was fine, so it seems as if I escaped having to do any major drilling! That knee part would have been a nightmare, with that curve!!! I ended up poking through the one knee... Yay!

I'll have to experiment and see what looks I like... And what won't drive me crazy trying to adjust wigs and those powerful magnets! Hmmm...

Heh. I was expecting something like regular feet, where there would be a solid bottom on the hoof and a place to hook the s-hook on the top... I guess there aren't that many poses where showing the bottom of the hoof is that important. Soom didn't really bother painting the bottoms, either...

I got blue eyes... 20mm used to be popular years back with the more anime-styled heads. My CP Juri '05 actually can take a 20mm, but I prefer smaller eyes and have some Souldolls in her that have a smaller-sized iris... And I don't need blue. But the gift is still a nice though, even if not terribly useful...

Thanks for your helpful response! :)

      Oh--took some quick photos--
      http://www.denofangels.com/forums/showthread.php?p=3994590#post3994590

I'd meant for him to have black hair, but the default faceup's brows look pretty washed out in dark wigs... Red actually looks pretty good on him with the red-ish shadows around his eyes... I still haven't decided on a look for him yet!!!

    2. for those who own sards, i have a question for yall. i just reciently unstrung and restrung my sard and his elbows are acting odd. the elbow joint is stiff and refuses to rotate, it may be partially caused by the fixitive on him. i'm almost thinking that i have the elbow joint upside down. since he's really new to me i have no clue if it's orientation is correct. any help would be greatly appreciated

    3. the "holes" placed inward is the original positioning :)

    4. I agree! I don't have Sard but did unstring a Beryl - those holes face inside :)

    5. my Sard has the holes facing outward. his arms move perfectly. that's the way he came. :| maybe it doesn't matter?

    6. WOW
It's been awhile since anyone has posted in this thread!
I just got a new Sard, and while I am his second owner, I may as well be his first. He was kept in his box and I am SO happy!
I am SO amazed (since this was my first unstrining) at how easy his hooved went on!
HOWEVER, stupid me, when I put the magnets in the head cap for the horns I put them facing the wrong way!:o
I freaked out...I put the superSUPER glue in...lucky it hadn't dried yet.
He is so delicate looking...but still masculine.
I am SO happy I have him!
      All thanks to Vinge!
      Dekuji!!
      :aheartbea

    7. congrats!! :) And welcome to the herd lol

I was SO paranoid when I installed my boy's magnets for fear of doing what you did...yay for slow drying glue I suppose

    8. I found that Soom magnets are so insanely strong that I could use them to remove wrongly-inserted magnets from other dolls.

A friend had glued one of the headcap magnets in her doll the wrong way round, and I thought I'd give my Sard's magnets a try, and what'd you know? His magnets attracted that wrong magnet right out of the magnet slot. XD

I think that if you glued them in wrongly, it'd be possible to use that method to get them out again.

    9. Congratulations on your bundle of big evil joy, michaelmichael-chan!!!!! The Herd welcomes you.

    10.
    11. Whoo-hoo! Congrats to you, michaelmichael! Sard is one of the most sought-after Soom MDs out there, I think, since the attention on Soom was only just building up and fewer were ordered. It's fortunate that you have found one!

I hope you'll post lots of photos when you can. I just love seeing Sard photos. :D

    12. GAhh...I have tried some photos tonight...I don't mind posting photos...but there is no way I would post these. Horrible lighting. I am struggeling with what wig to keep him in. I really like the default, but I wanted him to be a bit different.
OMG I just :aheartbea him. He is so different from any doll i've ever had (DOD, CP, & DZ)
The hand veins are sick (awesome). But I do want to get the jointed hands somtime.
I've seen some folks in the Soom Data base, they all look amazing.
