let's see when we finally have teaser....Otherwise i still go for him!!!!

 

On the second teaser picture is there any way to bring the brightness down so we can see more of him?

 

Not enough to make out any significant details that we can't already see - when you brighten something that bad a lot of the colors blend in together too much that you can't differentiate them even when making it darker. If you notice on the face/neck, that's all pretty much one color now, which means zero details.

 

On that, is it just me or does Soom really like photoshop effects on their monthlies?

 

xD I was thinking the same thing. I hope they don't try to outdo themselves from Heliot. Or Amber. o=

 

He looks interesting although the photoshopping on that second picture is absolutely rubbish and makes him look cheap and boring.

I really hope they execute the idea of a wolfman well as there was recently a really bad one (can't recall which company it was now...). I think the Angell Studio Gavin was really nice, and from the teaser pics he looks similar although obviously Chrom has paws which is fab. I wonder i he has wolf back legs and a taill too?

 

When I first saw that picture I didn't really think Photoshopped, I thought it was just a quick, poorly taken photo. Granted Soom probably saw all of us chomping at the bit and wanted to give us something, anything before we rose up and revolted. :P

@ Absynthe: Maybe you're thinking of the AOD Jurgis? He came with two separate heads, one was the "transforming" head and the second was a full wolf head. He didn't really do anything for me personally. I prefer adding some animal characteristics versus going "all the way."

I'm starting to wonder whether he is a wolf now...or a bird. I remember when the Euclase teaser pics were up we all thought he was an Egyptian dog at first, I wonder if this will happen again with Chrom? His outfit has feathers on it; his claws might be talons and the sculpted fur might be feathers too?

I also couldn't find out much about "Chrom" and the meaning of the word. Chromium is a metal I think, but its blue-white not red. If you use the word chromo- then another word it tends to desribe colour. Hmmm. So; I couldn't find any clues in his name.

It's very exciting though! I love new Soom releases heheeh

 

I had the same bird feeling this morning though the 'fur' on his arms would suggest otherwise. 'Bane of Wood' reminds me of 'wolfbane' but the colouring and feathers suggest 'firebird' to me. I can't rely on my own cultural references with Soom, though.

 

S/He is lovely! I can't wait to see how they sculpt the legs.

 

i agree. if its a wolf im tempted a bird probably not. im not happy to get the overly exposed white photo that was a bummer. i am curious and soom releases are always exciting.

 

I'm leaning toward thinking the feathery outfit is more or less a way of "wearing fire" or being consumed by it, being a fire god, but that's just a loose interpretation I have. I couldn't see cloth doing that in the same way, at least not on this scale.

 

If he WAS a Phoenix or some kind of bird Id still be doomed.

 

I'm not sure I'd want him if he's a bird. (Unless he's a woodpecker. xD; Love that suggestion.) If he's a wolf, or if by some chance they did draw inspiration from Crom Cruach and he turns out to be a dragon, I think I'll still be drooling. Not a big fan of birds, though. o=

 

I don't think at least could be a Bird, due to his ears..but let's see.....definitely i'm hoping for a wolf.

 

I would bet that Chrom is a wolf for a few reasons,...
If you go to Glot and Glati's page, in their picture is a little open book. Inside it there is a verse that says something like...
"They were born by the forces of Cuprit, Who is the god of dark kind."

And to me, Glot and Glati seem like tiny versions of Cuprit. With the horns, and the hooves, and the like. If you notice in the picture of the books, on both Glot, Glati, and Cuprit's pages, they are all the Dark element, that is symbolized by a upside down triangle with a line comming out of the tip.

Well, if you go to Hati and Skoll's page, in their pictures is another picture of a little open book, with some writing on it. It starts with "Eteala, 'Chrom', let them be born with the class of the fire kind."

If they did this release like they did Glot, Glati, & Cuprit, there is a high chance Chrom is a wolf. Also, I noticed the design on Skoll's shirt, is the same as Chrom's necklace. It's also the same symbol on Hati and Skoll's sheilds... Hati and Skoll are also the element fire, symbolized by a triangle, similaur to the one seen in Chrom's eye. Chrom is also supposed to be fire. Also, look at Hati and Skoll's little ears in the pic without the wigs. Don't the look a lot like someone we know's ears? They are kinda fuzzy too...

And if you click the link to the MD page, doesn't Skoll there seem to be holding his paw the same was Crhon is? Kinda up by his face, with the puppy dog eyes....

This guy is really growing on me! Omg... I think chances that he's wolf are really high. As for the feathers, honestly, they kind of remind me of Lord Darcia from "Wolf's Rain". An Anime, for those who didn't know,...

I am pretty excited about him though, and and can't wait to see more pics... I keep running up to my pc and checking the site at random...

 

I'm going with wolf. I mean, the coincidences that Novae pointed out (dude, why are you so observant of the MD photos? XD) pretty much point to wolf, like I've always thought it would. But whatever he is, he's pretty, so I'm all good.

Lol I'm loving the mention of Wolf's Rain. I love that series.XD

 

Well it kinda happened on accident, from staring at them for so long! I started to see connections....lol.

WR is an amazing series, and I can't help but think Darcia when I see those feathers!
