Soom Monthly Doll November (Scorpio) the Third Land: Vesuvia - Poison Kiss

The colour is interesting and I love her face and tail, but I'm safe, hooray! So I can sit tight and wait for Capricorn! I was getting very worried about having to get them both, but a purple girl just wouldn't fit in here, so I'm happy and sad that I won't be bringing her home.

I'm not surprised they went with the 'femme fatale' look, it's not their lack of creativity going on here, after all Leo was an Lion-guy in African tribal gear, and Gemini was just two identical doll sculpts in different colours, and if Vesuvia was in NS or tan skin, I would have bought her in a heartbeat.

 

I think she is a stunner!

I think other people's interpretation of her will be very and more interesting than the Soom shots - she's pretty and still love those shoes

She has a lovely face, her shoes are totally Mui Mui - esque and the purple resin sounds to die for...but sans the showgirl outfit and the tail, she looks too similar to Onyx for me to justify giving Soom another $1k.

Though, that pic of her cuddling her own tail...so cute!!!

I look forward to seeing what everyone does with her though and obviously waiting with baited breath for the next star sign. I just hope that Soom put Sag up before they go on Xmas holiday O_O

 

Argh I really don't like her, the colour of her skin and hair just doesn't work with the tones from the outfit. I agree, her face sculpt is too similar to Onyx. I think the only things I do like are the colour of her eyes (Why didn't they stick to one colour scheme?) and the horns are also very cute. My money is safe!

 

She's very beautiful, but not for me. Still, I'd LOVE to see her resin in person. It looks wonderful.
I really can't wait to see what people do with her, she has quite a bit of potential that Soom just isn't showing us.

Maybe they're scared because of how many Euclases they sold?

I think it's brave of them to do another new resin type, after a large batch of grey resin dolls. Which means I hope they've figured out what they're doing |D.

I agree that the chocolate thing was creepy, and kinda corny. I was reading through it like "... *facepalm*". Okay guys, we get it, she's a seductress. Just cut it out with the chocolate talk already, you're making me embarrassed for her!

Bix was just a guy in leather who had a claw arm

and Io was just an extra from the lion king broadway, with no special body parts, just a lion hat

Onyx is just a normal girl doll, unless you wanted her in grey, but other companies have done grey before so thats not really original

vesuvia is purple and has a jointed tail, thats a lot more than what they did for the other dolls

 

Once again I am so impressed with Soom. Another wonderfully imaginative doll with a unique look that still says "Soom".
Love those shoes. In fact, I think the whole concept is really well done. I'll bet a lot of folks are going to like this one.

 

It's like they took Onyx's nose, Topaz's lips, and Beryl's eyes to make her face. Her face is nice, but sadly, I'm just not in love with her. I was sort of wishing I would be. The scorpion tail idea is very neat, but after seeing the pictures, I'm just not all that excited about her. And I don't particularly like the dominatrix-look of the outfit either. But her wig and eyes are very nice. And I actually kind of like the look of the pearl violet resin. Either way, Vesuvia doesn't fit my personal tastes, so thankfully, I'm not tempted to bring another MD home!!

 

I have to say, WOW. She really is just perfect; I like everything about the package, even the outfit, shoes, wig & eyes. She"ll just be perfect as a dominatrix.

 

Whoo wee she has some sass to her, love her shoes and her attitude to boot, but I know that color resin is going to be a pain to keep up with and seeing how long they are taking with orders, no thanks, but can't wait to see owner pics in 2009......that's gonna be one long wait for her.

Yeah, some people have said, and I agree. I really did think she looked a bit like Beryl at first.

I thinnk the doll itself is fine but I'm not crazy about her wig or outfit. I think she'd look really cool in a long, straight black wig and some sort of toga like a greek goddess. She'd make a really cool demon also. Or you could always stick her in some skin tight leather jumpsuit and pretend she's a new member of the Xmen team. XDDD

 

Whooo wow, I may not be getting her but I am very intrigued by the resin color. I will be seriously looking forward to seeing some owner photos of her (and of that tail... I have personal interest in the workings of that tail... >.>)

Wish they did a little something different with the outfit though... but then again I was never planning to get her. xD So I shouldn't really have a say. Something... sexier maybe? Not typical slut-temptress?
I remember someone mentioning Adine from Tengan Toppa Gurren Laagan before... and I think a long dress like she wears would have been better. (darn... if only she was in normal skin someone could totally make an Adine doll... heck, they still could if they didn't mind the purpleness... That would be awesome.) Something elegantly sexy.

 

Oh, I love her resin and her face, both are so pretty! The pearl resin looks amazing, I wonder if they could do that for white skin. It could be like... Twilight! Hahaha! XD (For those who don't know, apparently the Twilight vampires sparkle in the sun. Correct me if I'm wrong.) But seriously, I think the pearl shimmery resin is such a cool idea and the execution is wonderful. I also like her tail and I love, love her her heels. So cool!!

What I'm not fond of is her outfit. It's not very interesting. And I don't like her wig, since I don't think it matches with her at all. This doll is very much a customizable doll. Maybe people are getting spoiled with the full sets? Put some Grecian goddess clothes on her and a different wig and bam! Whole different look.

 

She's pretty, and I need to get a supergem body at some point, and was looking forward to joining a split on her (as I know alot of people want just the tail), but with the skin tone being purple it just won't work.

Looks like the shoes are molded and part of the feet.

The Dress is pretty but I don't know how it would work/close without the tail.

I also wonder if the tail could be sanded and then it's a jointed 'cat-like' tail?

The face mold is ok for me. ^^; Though i'm rather particular when it comes to female dolls, but the tail XDDDD It's so cool looking

 

the more I think about her, I would trade my incoming Topaz for her..wouldn't even need the tail..but love that outfit and heels..

 

Thats actually a tad annoying, my Delphine is based of a scorpion-esque character, no regrets from me though 8D

But wow that resin colour is just stunning, and that tail! She's so kinky 8D She reminds me of a kind of purple beryl. I can't wait to see owner photos!

 

...she's COOL. I like the sparkly purple-ness X) The wig is nice too, but I agree that this particular doll might look better with a different one and that this wig would look cooler on some other doll.

Anyway, come on, you guys - this is not the first time a female doll has been relased with an outfit designed to be sexy - but the main thing is that you don't even have to order the outfit. I get irritated by badly-done exposing clothes for female dolls as well, but these actually seem to have a pretty well-thought-out design - it has to be, to have all those strap things going across the front and yet not look crowded and messy...!

Okay, the attachment of the tail looks more natural than I expected from the silhouette.

Something about the shape of her eyebrows is bothering me DX it might work for a certain type of expression, but not *every* expression, like a versatile face-up should. Still, the color scheme of her face is very unique and interesting, so I think many people will go for the face-up still, and that it'll be well-done and sparkliful like all the MD faces X)

I'm not sure how many people will be willing to get in on splits for her parts if swapping out for a purple waist is required to wear the tail o.o after all, the extra parts are listed as scorpion tail parts *and* scorpion waist parts...
