I like the idea of pearlescent purple (or whatever it is) resin, but...wow. Turned off and disappointed. I was kind of sensing it would be like this with the teaser--the name, the silhouette--but color me unimpressed.

At least I'm safe, for this month at least.

This. As a Scorpio, I was really, really interested to see what they'd do and... yeah, disappointed.

but looking past all that i love the doll!

LOL, that was my first thought to! I'm guessing "TX" stands for "toxic" or something.

 

I feel the same way. I would like to see just some normal or white resin dolls again. It almost seems like they did Beryl, then Sard, then they went a little further and further pushing the envelope. And for quite awhile it was cool. Onyx was great, Bix was cool, IO was actually normal, Topaz was beautiful, Euclase started to be almost a bit too many bells and whistles for me... and now this is just too weird for me. At first it was "Weird... Awesome!", now it's "Weird ... WTF?". What about concentrating on the face molds more? I'd much rather see some more beautiful faces than weird resins and bizarre attachments.

I do also feel bad for the Scorpios out there, they really played up the oversexed maneater thing. I am disappointed, I feel like they could have done so much with her (some people suggested armor, a warrior woman, that would have been amazing).

So yes, definitely going to pass on this one!

 

I lol'd at her "texas" blood-type. Wha? We have our own blood type now? XD

I'm a bit unimpressed as well. She doesn't seem too original aside from her purple skin tone, but that made me go "...uh...wtf?" a little bit. Purple just seemed a bit random. I thought it was gray at first, which would actually look a bit better IMO...

I was hoping she'd look a little more classy. I'd actually secretly wanted her to be a spy of some sort. T^T

Also, the ad was a lot less impressive in general. They obviously didn't put as much money into it. I'm with you and hoping that's because they are throwing wads of cash into Saggitarius.

 

Aww man, that would have been rad. Or the armored warrior would have been cool too. *siiiigh*

 

She's really neat but I don't like the head sculpt... I'm a little sad. I wish I liked her more. And of course theres no way to put another on her since she's pale lavender.

 

I think her facemold is pretty unique... Not to my taste, but definitely nice.

Irridescent PURPLE resin...?!?!?! Uuuuh.... Can I get a Spinel, in that color, with Sard ears, To Go please? That would be just about perfect.

Here I was hoping for something a little less.....uh, skanky?? I never associated Scorpions with sexy, is that just me? I was hoping for somthing a little more...tough. It's a "desert" creature, as in sand and cactus and survival of the fittest. Not a "dessert" creature, as in chocolate and sex and fishnet stockings.

This is probably going to be a unpopular opinion, but.

Aside from the cliche image of the devilicious femme fatale, I really quite like her and think she is a very sexy and fun girl!
And if the default dressup is too va-va-voom, I'm sure a quick wardrobe change + hair ought to fix that in a flash. =)

Her features are unique, almost feline to me (the slanted eyes, dainty nose, and full pouty lips), and call me a weirdo but what I especially like is the slight hint of bags under her eyes- to me it somehow gives an air of vulnerbility that totally contrasts the flashy, poisonus image.

And, dude, killer heels.

I think she's fabulous and I adore the shoes.

 

Its not the scorpion itself being associated with sex, its the horoscope sign Scorpio, they're considered very passionate, sexual, and possessive, but those are only the most obvious traits, they have a lot of other traits as well which would have been much cooler than the skanky doll they're offering us. But I agree, going more with something tough, self reliant, deadly would have been much more interesting and unique.

 

Oh my gosh, she's GORGEOUS! I just popped onto the site to check my status on my Sabik and well..... I'm in lust. I so don't have the money, but after I move out, I can reassess funds and maybe slip in to get her at the end of the ordering period. Maybe. *whimper* I don't think I've ever been so immediately smitten with a doll.

 

I was sort of hoping I would like her more. Not feeling a whole lot of love for the scorpion tail. But her eyes are quite nice, and I love her wig!!

 

No one's saying she's an altogether bad mold or bad doll, we're mostly just sad that soom didn't get more creative for their "Scorpio" doll. Perhaps if she was released as a standard or in some other regard instead of what's supposed to represent scorpio, we wouldn't be as disappointed.

 

Allright, I changed my mind- if I hade piles of cash, or it rained money tomorrow, I'd buy her. But barring that I'll have to pass. I think the tail is cool.
