Soom Monthly Doll November the Second Land: Galena - Deity Pitta

This is also a pitta bird. As you can see, it has 3 front toes, like Galena.

I think they called her Pitta because she has those 3 toes instead of the 2 toes that Euclase and the previous tinies have.

So nothing with the colours and such, but just the feet.

 

I just found my Christmas present....

I love everything about her, minus that wig. It just looks really weird to me, and it doesn't suit her at all!

 

I'm the opposite - I adore the wig!

 

It's not just the Pitta that has 4 toes, most birds have 4 toes (there are only a few species that do not). I thought it looked weird that Euclase only had 3 toes especially since he was supposed to be bird-like. I was thinking that perhaps at that time they were experimenting with new feet and wanted to keep it simple.

As for the name, I'm just thinking that someone at Soom just really likes the Pitta.

 

it's really smart and totally cool that Soom is giving people a choice in resin colors. I and others have been begging them to do that! yay.

 

ooo!! I'm loving the grey, though I can't decide which one for my dollification of Ma'at (who is also one of my characters in my world). It's unfortunate that the cost is more expensive for the grey... I'd love a fullset (sans wig & body blushing) but it looks like I'll have to forgo the outfit and other parts.

 

Dang she's gorgeous. No room for her, and certainly no budget, but she's fantastic.

 

I love the story about her. It's comprehensive. Yes, I would like to see her next to Sphaler, I am waiting for Sphaler. It never once occured to us that Sphaler is dragon, his feet does not look dragonish to us. We were wondering what he is.

Galena is to die for. Wars fought to win her is most befitting. I cannot afford another full set doll. Otherwise, I'd get my boy his lovely sister.

 

I finally broke down and looked. That is the most beautiful face ever. I really think she tops them in terms of just simple beauty.

I'm not up for the rest of her but given the track record on all the others I'm sure her head will be available somewhere, sometime! Boy she's a beauty.

 

Jeez I need another Super Gem like I need a hole in the head!

Especially since I was thinking about IH Yur, since I'm in love with her cat face a ren fare style dress.

But hot damn Galena's extras are amazing, but when I look at pricing her, there's no option to leave off her wings and claws!

Sure, its kinda the point to have the animal options, but I for one don't go for the whole claw/paw/hoof thing. The wings looks nice, but I would never put them on simply do to the difficulty involved (at least for me).

I guess Soom has gotten tired of people not buying MDs in full packages? I think its unfair that they all of a sudden aren't giving us the option.

 

I've been buying MD's since my Onyx's found their ways home, and only ONCE has Soom offered the fantasy parts seperate, and that was with Cass. I don't think it was a option for Beryl or Sard either :-) But, thats why DoA has so many splits :-)

 

Dang, those resin wings are impressive! As is Galena in general, actually. Wow!

After seeing better pics, at first I didn't like her much -- probably 'cause of the eye positioning and brows. But then I took a closer look and I have this urge to make her a gorgeous boy. I wish I was better with photoshop and whatnot though, I am having a hard time seeing "past" the makeup.

Hmm. Well, if I do want the head this would be a good opportunity to get my Cuprit a new unblushed body too, at least, since I've had no luck finding any other girl body that will work for her. Gotta look on the bright side of being Soomed, y'know.

 

I really like the wings! theyre so pretty! but her face isnt that spectacular i find... looks kinda boring.. but the details on the wings seem beautiful!

 

I just wish her faceup eyebrows were different ... I'm hoping to like them better in person *fingers crossed*

Her face, I realized is perfefct for me ... I quite excited that I have the opportunity to order her... especially since I didn't have that chance when Onyx was releashed. I feel fully redeemed

 

They were obviously not content to just 'SOOM' the grey resin lovers.

She is lovely and a definite 'YES!' in WS. I think with red and gold blushing, red hair and the right face up she will make a beautiful phoenix.

It might feel a little weird to pair her with Sphaler now, though...

 

I love the story too and I really do hope someone blushes her with more extreme colors, she would be gorgeous!!

I second that! When I saw her only in grey at first, I knew I probably wouldn't get her, even though I was waiting for her for months. But when I saw the CW picture, especialy the profile one, I died.

I adore the wig as well ^^ Maybe except for that pimple at the back, but when she comes here I'll check if it can be undone.

I think for the wig I will just stick with my Amber wig, or modify a goldenrod wig, I'm not a fan of high-styled wigs :/ Although I love the dual tone wigs that Soom does. I wish they'd done something more like Topaz's wig, and a more interesting colour. Too many blonde MD girls

Ergh, I'm not sure if I'm sold on her yet.. I'd love the head alone, I think. I don't think I can justify the rest of the doll? Hmm.

Something I really love about Soom dolls, and it has nothing to do with the dolls themselves, are the WRs. I love how in the right WR, you can have loads of fun and meet new people. I've actually made so many friends through the WRs!
So, the more of you who get her and join the WR, the more fun we'll have!
