1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Soom Monthly Doll October (Libra) the Third Land: Euclase - The last judgement

Oct 20, 2008

    1. You'e welcome n_n
I don't think they are horrendous from what I have seen, I think it is only really advised to get sands seamed if you are getting the body blush aswell, otherwise it doesn't make them more obvious from pictures I have seen.
But on the other hand, there are people who can do the sanding a lot cheaper than Soom, and it isn't hard to do yourself it is mainly just the convenience of it being done by them.

    2. I must admit seam lines don't bother me.

    3. Thank you again!^_^
I have to say seam lines don't bother me either, just so long as I don't cut myself on them. :XD: I'm glad to hear they aren't bad.

    4. I am not bothered by seam lines, but if I have a case whereby I am blushing these claws and I get a huge dark line where pastel has backedup by the seam line as I saw happening with Beryl's I might just cry!

    5. He's wanderful! I love him!

    6. when I saw him, I fell in love with him right away^^
      Just bought mine.
He already got his name: HORUS! :D

    7. I am glad to see some are getting him, I just can't, would not know where to put him and he has gray skin, not my taste, but he is representing Libra sign which is cool. Can't wait to see owner pics of him.

    8. I'm so jealous of all of you that can buy him immediately... ~__~ I'm putting him on layaway... Do you guys know if Soom prepares the layaway dolls, so that there's only like 2 days of waiting once you're done paying?

    9. I'll be putting him on layaway as well using the 5 month option. I didn't have to wait long for my Sard; he was shipped the next day after my last payment. I do think it varies though, as I know for some it took longer.

    10. I am so, so saddened that grey skin is the only option. This boy is *exactly* what I've been looking for, for the longest time and the ONLY thing holding me back is the skintone. Unfortunately for his character, the grey skin wouldn't work. ;_; I understand being a Monthly Doll that it would be difficult to add the addtional skintone option, but I am extremely heartbroken to miss out on him. *sobs*

I'm almost tempted enough to sand the grey off of him, heh.

    11. I ordered sanding service for my Shadow Onyx (back when Soom said you could sand grey resin). However a couple days ago, everyone who ordered Shadow Onyx with sanding service were notified that it CANNOT be done, and were refunded their $60. So unless they're doing any changes to Euclase's grey resin, you can't order sanding service for him. ^^

    12. I don't think you could sand the grey off him. It's most likely grey through out, it's just sanding causes discoloration, a lighter grey to appear, vs going to a 'normal' color. I wonder if one could airbrush the body/feet to another NS color.

    13. This is the exact same boat I'm in. When I saw the pics my heart leapt, and then when I read that he was gray only, it plummeted. :( This would have been the first MD I'd have sprang for the fullset and everything. :/

      So far Soom seems like "no, no, no" about the alternate resin question on their Q+A, but I chimed in anyway... Popular demand worked for Io's faceup stripe... ^^;

I feel sort of bad about it -- obviously there was an artistic vision, intention, with the gray resin, and he does look incredible -- but at the same time, BJDs are a customizable art form by nature, and these are offered with various things as options, not as a all-together one-off that will never be modified. It's like this fine line between the creator's vision and the buyer's.

*sits down on the Woe Is Gray bench*

    14. Ah, I've always wondered about that. They always say that it will appear lighter when sanded, but I never knew how much lighter (and would never try on my own darker resin dolls heh).

      Yeah, I'm that desperate I would sit there with a sanding sponge and try, lol. ^^;;;

    15. Jenova >
I don't think they will release Euclase in NS or WS. But there is a chance since the head is so feminine, that the head will be used for a female doll later.
They did the same thing for Vega and Dia.
So we can hope the head will be available in the future in NS or WS.

    16. Agreed. He is absolutely GORGEOUS grey. But it's just not what I have envisioned for him. ^^ And I just cannot put down $800+ on something that I'm not 100% happy with.

Soom is such a wonderful company, I would hate to harass them over it, but I am tempted to chime in as well for this one (I didn't realize they caved on Io's stripe -- I knew Soom was so adamant on that for a while).

    17. If you check the shipping schedule it says at the bottom how long it takes. Anywhere from 1-2 months. My Sard took about a month to ship after paying his layaway off, and I cancelled both the blushing and the faceup. ^^

*still hasn't bought the boy yet* I don't know what I'm waiting for, lol. Maybe I'm trying to tell myself I don't need him.

    18. Ok, he's aloof, exotic and sexy. The grey skin is a nice choice for the god aspect, like a statue come to life. The extra parts are a seamless fit and the doll looks good in either form, unlike other examples I can think of. The difference in price point is obvious when you compare different companies.

I started a dolly fund but I can't save as fast as these dolls come and go. *le sigh*

    19. W00t woot! :dance C'maaaan, do it! You know you need to. He will be stupendous in yr hands. Besides, then I get to come visit him. XD

(Heck, I'm still trying to track down a local Io, too...)

Confession: That was my first thought too! :fangirl:

    20. This was the answer I was looking for. Thank you!!..but that was in relation to my twin IO's. >.<

I'm waiting till the 5th to order (It's my birthday and also my payday).
I think my Euclase might be the best birthday present I've ever bought myself. I'm so excited I hardly know what to do with myself. I don't think I've been this excited about a new doll since my very first doll....several years ago now.

I do have one question for everyone. How exactly to you pronounce Euclase ...Is it like "Yew-clase"?

Anyway, congrats to those who bought him today, and I hope soom change their mind about the skin tone for all those that don't want him in grey. Personally, grey is perfect for me, even the hawky feet and claws. Too perfect for my character.
