1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Soom Monthly Doll October (Libra) the Third Land: Euclase - The last judgement

Oct 20, 2008

    1. You. Shush. My brain doesn't need to think about pretty Corax boys. Not listening. LAlalalala.

      Arrrg.

No. No. No. Two dolls on layaway is already nearly more than my wallet can handle. No third. Maybe I should unsubscribe from this thread...:sweat.

    2. Oh god soom please release a standard boy/girl with animal legs D: Grey skin isnt my thing!

    3. Wow this doll is amazing. O_O He's my astrological sign too! He's absolutely incredible and lovely ;-; I just wish I could afford itttt. D8 oh man. ;; if i was a millionaire Iwould probably buy it just for display. XD

    4. I pronounce it "Yew-clayss" though I guess it could be pronounced "Yew-cluss".

I agree with you; I like the grey skin, too! I don't think he'd have appealed to me as much if he were in normal skin, for some reason. Not that I have a "thing" for gray resin, but... I don't know. I REALLY like it on him.

    5. Put me on the normal skin bench too pls :( He really is stunning, and if I just had the cash to burn I'd get him for display. But I'mnot sure what I'd do with grey skin.

    6. No, I asked them. They said they start to make the doll only after the full payment.:| But I never purchased dolls from them. So it's just the official answer.

    7. You know, I suspect Soom's reluctance to offer him in more than one color is more economic reality than artistic integrity/obstinacy. It might well be that the entire run of parts made in one casting mold has to be done in one color or they risk contaminating the others and grey might be harder to deal with in that aspect.

Aside from the hassle of keeping them separate that would require enough orders of each color to justify the cost of the molds and set-up time. I've always figured that the option to end a sale period early was related to the usable lifespan of the molds more than anything.

And right at the moment they may know we aren't likely to spend as freely as we did in March, if only because we've already spent our play money on their earlier dolls.

    8. gah, i can only dream of having him i guess~

    9. Perhaps this is why Grey Onyx took/is taking so long? If the molds were contaminated with Light Onyx resin... some of it might be mixing, but some might be contamination.

      >=D I didn't spend money on any previous Soom dolls! I'm so proud! now I can get one that totally owns them! Seriously, I've fallen head-over-heels for this doll. MUST. HAVE.

    10. Mold colour contamination shouldnt be a problem if the polyurethane resin is being cast into silicone. And a silicone mold would not degrade so much in less than a month that you would have to discard it... Soom are professionals, they know how to clean and treat their molds for longest possible manufacturing life. So I say it's probably an artistic choice. Maybe it's cause they don't want to make as many as they know they'd have to make if he was WS. :XD

God, I am having such a crisis with this doll. I want him SO. BAD. I wish I had long hair to cut off and sell to wigmakers.... or ... maybe I could set up a business selling 'hydroponic herbs'..... :|

    11. I deeply agree with this. Acturally my friend and I are in the same boat with you. The skin tone is the only thing that pushing us away. If a doll can not be modified by the owner, to me it's more like a piece of art for displaying than a doll to be played with.

    12. They call them 'Hawk' legs, so I would say that he is most definetely based off of the Egyptian god 'Horus'.

    13. He does have unusual feet! How exciting. I really like that Soom didn't just start and stop with hooves. It's making me anticipate the more animal-like zodiac signs even more.

I'm dissapointed with the gray skin though. If I do happen across the meditation head some day, what body will I get for him!? From what I know, companies aren't releasing gray skin bodies as optional parts. Does any one know of a company who is, before I ask on the Soom Q&A board?

    14. what about the lilac skin tone from bobobie? isn't that grey-ish?

personally, i'm in LOVE with this guy. tro-chan and i are getting one and she's taking the open eyed head and going to put it on a girl body that she'll be dying black (like BLACK black) for an original character of hers.

this doll, though, is EXACTLY how i've always envisioned angels and having kicked myself for missing out on sard and beryl i just had to get this guy (and thankfully after vet bills i had enough to pay for him over a two month period)

i wonder how the soom grey will look compared to the DOD grey...

is any one else worried about cutting themselves on the talons? :sweat

    15. Mmm. I'm Soom'd. Completely. After seeing those legs, and that meditation head too often...

I went by work and picked up an extra shift per week so I can afford him and Sagittarius on layaway if I must. It's going to be a hectic couple of months, but it'll be worth it to me to get him, and then Sagi if I like him/her.

I suppose I will be starting layaway when I get home. I'm sunk.

    16. I can't start layaway until my first paycheck, which will be RIGHT AROUND the time he ends. But no, I'm not worried about cutting myself. Rule about pointed things: The pointier it is, the more likely to break. So, it wouldn't be "AAH! I accidentally cut my skin open!" sharp, but I'm sure if you were TRYING to, you probably could. ^-^

    17. Last time I checked, Bobobie was only offering hands as option parts that could come in their other colors, their option male body only comes in the natural skin tones.
In any case, I have a funny feeling their lilac would not match Soom's grey. haha

    18. no you just have ask dennis it's not on the site but you can order anything in any of the colors offered. but the purple is very purple in my opinion you'd not get a match with that.

    19. I'm glad the sign for my birth is so nice. I do like the monthly dolls but I don't think I would ever buy one. I can't wait for people to receive theirs so I can look at all the pretty pictures.

    20. I have this undead demon character who I never planned to dollify that I could certainly use this doll for. He'd even have his ghostly grey Onyx girlfriend to hang out with. I just don't know if I want my doll group to branch out into the undead/non-human part of the story. I guess St. James getting the dolls for Delphine and her dead (now ghostly) twin sister Lyris has opened up the possibility of getting this guy. Damn. What to do? >__<
