    1. Im the year of the Dragon (and last year in the speculation thread had hoped they made a dragon in the future), so this is really tugging at me. I love his face and I LOVE the dragon feet. I noticed they were dragon feet right off. Korean dragons have four talons -- they did a good job of it, I think. I don't see anything weirdly-chicken about it, and they aren't resculpts of Euclase's. (I own a pair of Euclase feet that I use on my DIM boy, and THOSE are chicken feet!)

      I'm actually really upset it has talons. I was hoping for a hooved doll so I DIDNT want it. If I could afford it, I'd be all over this one. But if I get him, I'm sacrificing the next two dolls I had in line .... ARUGH. gonna eat at me!


      Also, I'm kind of tired of hearing the "cheap" comments. If you were a doll company and you were doing really well selling a type of doll (fantasy dolls with interchangable legs), wouldnt you keep doing it and enhancing, too? Especially if the customers LIKE it? They aren't just recasts, they're remolded and sculpted, so I don't see the "cheap". I think that's just people getting tired of seeing simliars... but it's BOUND to happen: they are recycling last year's dolls into tinies, after all, and we're bound to see more hooves to go with them. I have a feeling we might get two taloned dolls in a row now -- Next up is air, right?

    2. Air sounds like talons to me, and believe me I'd have NO problem with more talons ;). Honestly, I'm hoping for a phoenix to go alongside the dragon!

    3. want to get him because he's the element of light, and everything about me means light! So come on! I'm hoping i can attempt to use the layaway plan as a way to buy him...because then I'd be able to pay for him and save money for rent as well...:|hmm....careful planning may be needed...and HAPPY THOUGHTS!

      and because my aunt's born in the year of the dragon I'm having these images of fending her off of him if I do manage to get him...lol funny imagery! :lol:

      But I agree with buboplague's opinion.

    4. Did anyone say this already, the more I look at the mysterious girl the more she look like a Beryl to me. <.<
      Could totally be my imagination, she sorta has a ... pout.

      edit: Sphaler's talons/claws are pretty bloody amazing. I don't know what I feel about the claw hands but the feet looks just like an Asian dragon, including that little tuff of.. er, feathers? They look great.

      I LOVE the feet! The only reason I'm not tempted is b/c Soom's style is too different from the dolls I already own or plan to own. But nonetheless, I love to look at MDs and discuss them because their designs are so exciting. Sphaler is definitely among my most favorite MDs. I love this color palette, I love that he's a korean dragon, I don't absolutely love his face but I do like it well enough.

      But most of all, those feet are great! *__*

    6. There are those dolls that you'll find cute and would make you say "awww, so cute". Then there are dolls that could have made it but somehow you find that the connection wasn't there. And alas, there are those dolls that make you fall in love at first sight, wheedling you to suck dry your already withering purse...

      Sphaler belongs to the last one. Out of all the Supergem-sized MDs that Soom have released so far, this is the only one that "called" out to me. He reminds me of that Sabik cream white donned in swallowtail outfit, only better.

      I was supposed to make an FCS for a character I had been building since last year but somehow there's no Volks face sculpt that fit the image I had in mind. And then I saw Sphaler...the face sculpt, ears, faceup and the outfit are all perfect. Well, the talons are a bonus but I can live without them. But all in all, down to the fan, Soom was dead-on to all my specifications.

      And so even though I haven't received my Glati yet (which is way way past the shipping date that they gave me) I really thank Soom for releasing this beautiful boy.

I ordered my very first BJD ever! :D :D :D I can't wait for my new dragony-toed heartlove to arrive at my home.... in +/- 100 business days!! >_> Keeping my fingers crossed for "in time for Xmas", but I realize it'll prolly be closer to "in time for Valentine's day". Even still, so so so so excited! *dies*

    13. I don't understand why people are calling Soom 'cheap'?

      How is a company who designs a completely new, quite complicated doll, every month, 'cheap'?

      Just because you don't like the doll isn't a reason to say such things. Soom puts a hell of a lot of work into these MDs!


      In other news, I'm torn between the idea of getting him NS or WS. @_@ I'm liking his Mireu legs more and more... but I really want to know what he looks like in NS! I hope Soom does post up more pictures showing him in NS and er, with less glowing godliness. ^^;

    14. It seems like a sense of entitlement to me sometimes. :/ I mean, obviously if it sells well, they'll use it- it's business. Soom is not entitled to make you a super-special doll that has a jetpack because you're tired of hooves/claws etc. DON'T BUY FROM THEM. Simple as that, and leave the rest of us to admire and love the dolls, and yes, buy them. It's one thing to not want the hooves and wish for new things, but to call Soom cheap? unoriginal? Pssh. Get off your high horse.

    15. I'm with DarkRegrets on this one. It seems like there is an attitude around that unless Soom is making exactly what wild combination someone dreamed up, they need to be put down somehow. It's a girl and you wanted a boy? Insult them and their products. It's hooves again? Insult them and their products. It isn't hooves again? Insult them and their products.

      I just don't get that attitude at all, and I haven't really seen the same thing directed at other companies in the same way.

      I don't think it would bother me half as much if it was an informed opinion, but like the person posting on their doll page about 'getting more use out of that hoof mold', there's a level of, "Do you even know what you're talking about?!" Because it isn't the same mold. Similar concept, sure. Gripe about similar concepts all you like, but if you're going to go accusing someone of being cheap and lazy? At least get the dang facts straight before shooting your mouth off, yeesh!

      Critique is one thing, but that? Ain't it.

      I guess asian lung dragons all just have chicken feet instead of dragon feet then ;P
