Soom Monthly Doll September (Virgo) the Third Land: Topaz - Honey Dew

Guess we're going to have to wait a little longer (at least), since Soom's working hours are Monday - Friday 9am - 5pm and it's 5:31 pm there now

 

Awww I really hoped we could see her today! OTOH the only way I could get her if I love her is to pay off two of my current layaways... the later she is the longer I will hopefully have to attempt that.

She must be quite special to be taking so long.

ETA: I see that Onyx has popped up available again.

 

Huh. There's a post on the QA board that mentioned she'd be up today, but I think their business hours are also over for the day -- at least officially. Ah well. Crossing my fingers and hoping for the best.

 

Isn't it arriving a little too late for it to be a "September" doll? Does this mean they wont release their October doll until the very end of October?

 

That's exactly what I was thinking~! September is almost over When exactly will the ordering period be? xP

 

I wonder if she'll have a shorter order period, or if there will be some crossover with October's doll? Maybe there will be a week or so when they are both on sale.

 

1.do you think they are transparent? or do you think thats photoshop?

2.do you think her ears are clip ons like vegas?

i dont think thats photoshop.. i dont think soom would photoshop a feature of one of their dolls

and i dont think its a clip on attachment, on vegas its quite obviouse its a clip on from the picture, but on topas you cant tell.. maybe she will come with normal ear replacement parts too???

 

Apparently Soom is increasing production staff so likely future dolls will have less wait time.

 

It does seem that way, but I remember when Sard finally was released for sale, it happened at like... 5 in the evening where I am, which is late in the night in Korea. I remember I was out with my boyfriend that evening and couldn't wait to get home so I could order Sard. XD I believe I ordered him around 9-10 at night my time. So there is still a chance that she could be released today!

They're very pretty! I'd love to see owner shots though... *Owner-shot addict* What? They tend to look better than the company ones!

Agreed. This is why I'm hoping that the beautiful ears are removable..... with a younger sisster, i shuder at the thought of "THUD>..CRAAAAACK"

Topaz is really pretty, from what i can see of her. Also doesnt help that the girl's september's doll, and thus Virgo. I'm a virgo born in september. She's calling to me XD

Im hoping a little that i find things about her that i dont like or dont want, but i really dont think thats gonna happen thus far. She's gorgeous. I'm also worried about the ears though XD I'd poke them wrong and break them, so i really hope they're removable.

Normally i'm not big on soom dolls, but Topaz here may just change my mind...

Aww. Hooray for honesty, I guess...hmm, I'd be likely to bump into her, knock her over, and bye-bye ears ;_;

They look attached to me, but who knows? On the one hand, their fantasy dolls with weird head-bits (merman Vega earfins, Beryl + Sard horns) have options to remove, and make them normal... then again, their elves have molded attached ears. These ears are so unusual that I have no clue which category they'll fall into o.o guess we'll wait and see.

 

If we want to get super-analytical about the ears... Here's an extreme close-up of where Topaz's ear meets the side of her head in the teaser pic:



That vertical line and resin color difference kind of makes the ears look like they might be detachable, I think...

 

Darn you, Soom! I'm seriously wanting to see what she looks like, too!!!!! TTATT

Especially those ears! The more I see them, the more I wonder if they really ARE transparent resin!!!!!

 

I also noticed that, too. You can see it even better if you look at the curve of the ear, where a normal ear would be. like...if you took a normal-eared doll and made covers for the ears that just hooked over the natural ear, where they would be on the normal ear is where you can see the resin difference the most prominent.

Edit: I decided to post where I think the detatchable ears are hooked onto the normal ears. It's of course just my own speculation, but seeing this line that I've pointed out makes it almost impossible in my mind for them to NOT be detatchable. which makes me happy, 'cause I wanna see these things soooo bad! detatcheable means they could very well be transparent, and that'd just be the NEATEST thing I've ever seen on one of these dolls!
