Soom Monthly Doll September (Virgo) the Third Land: Topaz - Honey Dew

There was just a Korean holiday that spanned a few days at the end of Io's order period. It may have cut into their time, [I don't know how major of a holiday it was], and to keep on track with the rest of the zodiac releases, they may have just done it for that sake. There is also speculation they're doing it for less orders so they can catch up on their previous ones not yet shipped.

 

Hi Lizjayliz! Congrats to you too! At first I felt, oh no, what did I do, I just got one paid off. I have no shame, grin.
I ordered her with her hair, eyes and the dress on layway. I couldn't afford to have her face done, but I really want to do it myself. I did my souldolls and it turned out really good, I put elf ears on here and did her face, but I need to glue her eyelashes back on, poor girl!

 

oh man.. im screwd.. i just orderd my first bjd and shes being shipped to me.. then i see topaz.. shes a fairy and im a fairy fanatic.. i have fairys everywhere in my house.. shes the month of september and my birthdays in 4 days hence im a september baby... and im gonna turn 23.. her age - 23!!
thats it.. all the signs say she was made for me.. i know i cant afford her but my boyfriend said he'll help me omgomgomg i cant believe im gonna order her i must be insane.

I don't know how many times I've started the ordering and then bailed. Part of the difficulty is HOW to order her--include the options, or no options, or maybe some of the options. On the one hand, while I like her faceup, I'm fairly sure I'd like to have it stronger, not a heavy faceup, but a touch of faint dull green eyeshadow or maybe smokiness might be nice so maybe I shouldn't order the faceup. Then I started looking at different colored eyes too. Pupil or pupil-less? blue? peachy? turquoise? Way too many choices. I think I might be rambling...

 

I had figured maybe that they needed to catch up with previous orders, but I never realized that there was a holiday. Oh, well, more Topaz for everyone who's getting her!!

And on that note... I'm so glad. "Before shipping"!! I was really worried yesterday that they weren't going to confirm the payment I sent.

 

Muse Star ~ I ordered my Topaz same as you, just the wig, dress & eyes. I wasn't crazy about the black outline around her eyes, so I decided to try a faceup myself. No blushing either, because I think I want it in a different color. I just finished paying for Sard! It never ends

Snowleopard ~ I stuggled with which options to order as well. Especially the dress, but it is so pretty I decided to get it even if it does add another month to my layaway.

 

Does anyone know if her feet are attached with S hooks? I hope so, as it would be a pain to have to restring her to change feet.

 

Muse Star: Congratulations to you on the impending arrival of Sard. I've met him in person--he's a wonderful handful! Yep, you're right--it NEVER ends! Even with Topaz, I'm already looking forward to Capricorn. I forget now, but someone else was imagining the same as me--a combination of Vega and Sard. In addition, I'm definitely dreaming of a hooved, hunky, and tan boy-man! Yes!

Mephistol: Purples and lavendars! Very Nice Colosr! I hope you post pictures of your girl!

lizjayliz: I'm an amateur faceup/painter; I just can't do a nice job starting from scratch. I'm fair when it comes to adding a bit of blush and accentuating to already painted faces, so they are a teeny bit personalized to my tastes.

Although I'm anxious to receive my new girl, I've accepted the waiting is a given when it comes to this hobby. It also gives us something to share and talk about; I've met some really nice people this way. The Western way is instant gratification (5 seconds in some studies). I keep in mind the adage: "All good things come to those who wait." Yes, I'm one of the older ones.

 

once i noticed the instructions on there layaway page and couldn't understand them i almost backed out. but my boyfriend bullied me till i finally figured it out (no help from soom, i asked for clarification and they sent a copy paste of the same thing i was confused about o_0)

so I DID IT! =D i orderd her and i have her on layaway. weeeeeeeeee

 

piffie: Happy happy day to you! I found the layway process awkward too. I hope I made my first payment correctly. Soom's notification's link kept showing the entire amt and I couldn't modify it. So instead, I sent a separate payment to Soom with a complete description of what it was for.

 

Hi! I am a HUGE faerie fan, fanatic, I guess obessessed. I even dress like a faerie (hense my avaitar pic) and sculpt them, tehehe. Ohh, it sounds like you are to be together with the same age and all that really rules! And your boyfriend is going to help out, how wonderful! I have 2 SD and this one is only going to be around 2" taller. I am going to start with some faerie things for her, I can't wait!!!!! The agony of the wait is going to kill me, just got out of the waiting room and back in again I go!

 

That is a good question. I am going to see if there is a thread for that one at Soom. All my SD have S hooks.

 

I posted the question to the Q&A so we should get an answer to that shortly!

I am going to do the face up on her. I have a few ideas for faerie faces that I want to try. I have been doing faces on all dolls for a long time. I am hoping she will be here in time for Christmas, but the Christmas rush scares me a little. But we can talk about her and share ideas in the meantime, a good way to pass the time until the big arrival and box opening ceremonies!

 

I just got the word from Soom. There is no plan for a faerie for the month of October. So glad I put Topaz in layaway!=]

 

Oh hey, just so you guys know, I asked Onsumla about 14mm... they dont seem to be able to make them. T_T I really wanted a pair for my Sard, too.... Ah well, time to dust off that old 'DIY Ingenuity'. =^_^= Maybe glow in the dark eyes will be the first eyes available on my accessories thread...

 

Muse Star: Thanks for the "no fairy for October" news. Yay! *silly dancing* Another reason I too am ecstatic for orderingTopaz. Since September stone is generally sapphire, the name "Topaz" doesn't have a real tie; I'm thinking of changing my girl's name to Citrine. Have you selected a new name?

 

Oooh, this is weird, I just got an email from them answering the question too. I asked for a pair of 14mm, and they said they could custom make for me. I think I might just go with the 16 mm ones.

 

Gayle- Soom feet have cast-on resin "hooks" under the ankle balls. It's kind of hard to explain and sounds like a bad idea, but they're actually very strong and useful!

Soom is very good about layaway. I didn't have an ounce of trouble paying off my Beryl. Or getting her shipped to my office ^^.

I haven't told my co-workers about my Topaz yet. They always try to play with my dolls! They'll be DELIGHTED XD.
