1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Soom Monthly Doll September (Virgo) the Third Land: Topaz - Honey Dew

Sep 19, 2008

    1. Muse Star: As someone else has pointed out, it depends on the look you want to achieve; older vs. younger. But eyeballs in general are a real challenge and frustration--the differences are often so subtle and unexpected. Both sizes will be really striking--glowing! wow!

    2. Youre welcome. I had to know because I thought if it was then I would have held out for a October faerie.
I am changing her name too. I am thinking of making her a four seasons faerie, her colors change with the season. No name yet, I have a book with faerie names I am looking at. Citrine is a really good name! It stand for fortune and success.

    3. saintsavin: Thank you for the input regarding the resin hooks in the feet. Topaz is my first Soom doll and know very little about them. Thanks also for telling us that Soom's layaway plans are easy. I was a bit leery about using it for a company so far away, but the layaway certainly makes the purchase less painful...

    4. I think the glowing rules, especially in fantasy!

    5. Muse Star: Well! "Citrine" it is! Names having good sounds and good meanings are important to me. I mean, really, is it good to name a baby "the bald one"? lol!

    6. So I take it the feet will be fairly easy to change out then?

    7. Yeah, thank you both too! I got burned at Dollmore and was leery too. The feet sound really good. Good to know. Is there a pair of human hands that go with too? I haven't seen a thread on it, or missed it.

    8. It sure sounds like it.

    9. If I understood Soom's advertisement, we will be getting a complete (all the limbs) Super Gem body, and the fairy hands, feet, ears, and human high heel feet are extras! Isn't that just amazing! I love packages with add-ons! More to play with!

    10. Oh if that's the case, now I am even MORE excited!!

    11. I think I'm in denial. I don't want her body blushed or the dress, even though both show to be lovely.... so that means with wig, eyes, and face up, I can afford the layaway. But I keep talking myself out of it... why? LOL We will see closer to the closing period if I get her.

    12. yeah, I understand that too! All the extras!

    13. Soom feet are very easy to change, yes. It's just yank > slide a pen into the string loop to keep it from retracting > change feet > slide the ball into place > remove pen YAY FEET.

Unless they're the goat feet Beryl and Sard came with. OOF.

I would also add that human Soom feet are very dainty and beautiful. While the fairy feet sealed the deal for me, I think I very well might have gotten Topaz even without them.

The only thing I'd say against the Soom Super Gem bodies in general is that they are somewhat difficult to find clothing for. SD16, Model doll (not pants) and Unoa 0 outfits can work for it, but it depends on the material, the company, the article itself. If you've ever wanted to learn how to sew, buying a Super Gem girl is a great occasion :X.

    14. Saintsavin, are the Super Gem busts similar to DM Models? If they are, I could actually start making fairy gowns for her now, as I have a heap O' Model girls here.

    15. All measurements are pretty similar except leg length & arm length. I have several skirts & shirts for my beryl from Dollmore's model girl line that fit just fine. I have a dress as well, it looks stunning on her. If you compare the super gem measurements to the model F, most are only half a cm off.

    16. FallenEverdark, thanks so much!!! based on that I'll be able to start a wardrobe for her way ahead of time!

    17. The Super Gem chest measurements are just 5mm larger than Model Dolls', but the SG body has proportionately larger breasts. If you have something fitted tightly on a Model Doll bust, it can sometimes turn rather scandalous on a Super Gem and/or have odd spots of excess fabric, but that's what darts are for ^^.

    18. yes they are quite similar ;) my dia and ipsae can share everything except pants.

    19. Wonder what kind of look a Libra doll will have :?

and I have to take a peek on this eyes WoW Glow in the Dark:love

    20. when they say hi heeled feet do they mean the feet that actually look like the doll is wearing hi heels as in shoes??

or do they mean her feet are positioned as if they are in hi heels??? like shes on her tip toes almost?

because in the last picture on the sight it looks like her feet are positioned that way but i also understand soom makes actual hi heal shoe/feet

im betting on it being plane feet because thats whats in the picture and why in the world would a fairy be wearing heels??

i just though id ask anyways incase some other people are confused to
