Soom Monthly (Zodiac) Doll Speculation thread '08 Part 2

I'm really interested to see what the Sag will look like. Scorpio seems to look like what I thought she would, from what I can tell from the lame teaser silhouette. But I can't help but wonder whether Sag will be the last of the MDs because on the Soom website, they list Uyoo and Deneb-Planet Spirit as their Jan and Feb MDs. That would mean that we only have one more zodiac doll left... As much as it pains me to be tempted each month by their lovely dolls, I'd still like to see more of what they can do.

 

webster87, Uyoo Elf and Deneb Planet Spirit were last jan and Feb's MDs. It is highly unlikely that Soom will just spool through the previous year's MDs in 2009. It will be exciting to see what linking concept they come up with for next year.

 

Not impressed by silhouette teaser Soom. I thought you were the market leader and now youre taking cues from Souldoll?? Where the picture to get the adrenaline going and the fingers fluttering in the terrified wallet's direction?

Anyway, this girl looks interesting but to second KasaMadhuri777, unless her face is beyond compare, I will probably be passing on her. Just a thought re Sagg, they're probably going to be on holiday by the time he needs to go up online, so either we'll have an even longer wait or they might put him up directly after Scorpio which might be the reason for the super long wait this time. Either way...I'm terrified.

Plus Uyoo was the Monthly doll for Jan but not a Zodiac doll according to the Soom site so we still have two to go.

 

I am right there with you sylvian. What a let down... I mean really, we've been waiting and waiting and all we get is a black silhouette? JUST LIKE SOULDOLL? Or was it just to put out a picture because the doll isn't ready yet to take pictures?

Either way not impressed at all.

 

I agree. I think the picture could have been handled better.

Example: Maybe a darkened picture of her torso that would leave us guessing about her resin color, and we would all be like "OMG do I maybe sorta see almost a stinger behind her?!?!? "

Sorta like how they teased us with Bix, which to me seemed to have a gread deal of speculation and built on the excitement of his release because of the quality and angle of the picture.

Also a little sad to see them taking it so literally. They blew us all away with an Egyptian god of Judgment last month for Libra, and now we get a girl with a scorpion tail? Maybe the tail will be part of armour instead of her actual butt? That would be a little better maybe.

 

AHA! Finally found the new thread! I just saw the teaser silhouette and ARGH! Want to see more, but don't want to want her!

 

So what will they come up with next? I'm still waiting for a Mecha Angel female or a male with muscles! Hoofed? Or maybe a Dianna the huntress sort of thing?

 

are we jaded, or what? SoOm has to live up to its own standard of excellence and remarkable creativity. I'm not shopping, but I am hoping she's something special.

and, what about that name? "Vesuvius" which is a mountain. is she lava rock?

I can't help it - that tail makes me laugh, especially with the fashion heels. but, I've loved every doll they've made, so I'm prepared to admire this one, too.

 

Not sure about the heels, but I think I'm going to love the tail. I'm a goner for this one. Unless she's hideously overpriced for my budget, I'll probably be getting her, just because it's such an awesome concept.

I find it slightly annoying that people are groaning about the teaser being 'just' a silhouette. Soom don't have to do these monthly events you know, I'd take every new doll as a bonus, Soom is running a big risk that these dolls won't take off, investing money and time in producing a unique product in a time when most of us are quaking in our boots about customs fees rising, currency conversions on the slide and the continued high-price of this hobby. Give Soom a break, it's not compulsory for them to wow us each month.

Soom are my god, I worship and adore them, I am considering naming my firstborn "Soom" regardless of its gender. The very least I expect from my deity is to part the Red Sea and/or give me a lovely sexy pic of some beautiful resin boy or girl at least every 30 days!!!

Is that really so much to ask, in exchange for EVEN MORE of my hard earned cash?

 

I find the complaints about the teaser photos to be absolutely ridiculous. If Soom holds true to previous releases... there will probably be full photos tonight. So, omg you had nothing but a silhouette for 24 hour? Wah wah, cry me a river.

Also, what's with all the "I'm sooo disappointed in her" comments? You can't even see what she really looks like. How do you know already that you don't like her?

I'm not intending to get a centaur doll, but that's the one I'm most looking forward to now, since equine dolls aren't plentiful. XD The showdown between Soom and Souldoll should prove really interesting. XD

 

I would love for Capricorn and Sagittarius to be Mecha sized. I wonder if a centaur is going to pop up in for one of these two. It's exciting waiting for the next one. Also, I wonder if they're going to try other skin colors. They threw gray in there, what's next?

 

We're actually pretty lucky to get the silhouette teaser... they haven't even put it up on the Korean site yet.

I kind of hope they remake Aquarius and Pisces to fit into their zodiac plan more (those two are the only MAs at this point, it would almost make more sense just to make two more Super Gems...) I think they could do something way more over the top for Aquarius.

 

God, I would be so happy if they'd do a thicker, muscled body like Iplehouse has! BJDs need to come in more shapes, sizes and colors! It's one reason I pounced on the body for Euclase! Tall grey guy and bird feet!

 

Hmm, I thought the event went through Jan and Feb, that they released their dolls in the course of the year along the lines of the Eastern/Chinese New Year versus the Western, no? That would mean that there's three to go from here, or that's how I was reasoning it out, anyway. Whoops!
