Soom Monthly (Zodiac) Doll Speculation thread '08 Part 2

uh....we know for sure there's another Zodiac, right?
they're not just gearing up for a new campaign?

I like the teaser pix. drives us crazy, but it's fun. not much time for that now.

 

Well, if they don't post something soon I'm going to lose interest entirely.

 

From what I've heard, people have asked if there will be a Capricorn doll, and Soom's said yes. They're rather secretive, but I think someone's confirmed there will be another Zodiac doll.

 

yeaaah. I think thats starting to happen to me. Not because of soom's delay, but just becuase of time. I was so hyped to see Capricorn, and all ready to buy her and everything because Im sure she's going to be everything I want, but... waiting this long is getting tiring. AND, its given me time to think hard about it, and I dont really know if I should be spending that kind of money right now. (my guilts setting back in, haha).

SadinaSaphrite - i asked them when heliot came out, and they said there will be a capricorn doll, they just dont know what it'll be (thats what they said at the time i asked anyway).

I'm starting to get fed up with it tbh. >_> If nothing is done by sunday I'm just gonna saw screw them, I'm buying something else.

It technically isnt a capricorn doll anymore as we're now in the next house.

 

i am starting to lose interest as well..... the wait is just too long for these dolls..... but.... maybe if they see that we are starting to lose interest, they will spring into action.

 

Well I think someone better tell them how angery the boards are getting! It's such a let to check every day and STILL nothing! Now I'm getting mad! Anyway, we can't just asume that staff members are members of DoA.

But I'm with you guys. If she isn't bloody spectacular there are two Volks Dolpa's coming up.

 

Really they have no guarantee to us about teaser picture times, and they just had a national holiday that they had full right to celebrate. There is also no guarantee to anyone that it is a doll they will like. It may be just what x person was waiting for and they do buy her/him, but y person may not like it at all even though both x and y were waiting for the teasers.

While I would love to see a teaser and I will love to see the doll, I can't understand getting mad at them. They are putting out wonderful creations and doing their best not to go under from the work load. Saying you wont by the doll just because the teaser is late is really rather odd considering none of us know what the doll even looks like and you may of not wanted it anyways. Really, an anger is self created and I would feel sorry for the soom staff if they did read this. They are almost behind as it with so many monthly dolls that I'm sure to them the wait time is very short. It takes a lot to create something new each month- there's a reason only soom is doing this.

I only hope that the doll is wonderful, and soom is able to do themselves right by taking an announced break after this should they need it.

 

I find it strangely amusing that many of the people demanding teaser pictures here are ALSO in waiting rooms for Soom dolls, complaining about the wait for shipping :X.

 

While I am getting very eager to see the teasers as well, I just don't have it in my heart to be mad at Soom, about the long wait for pictures and probably not for shipping either :] they just seem so sweet.

*shuffles around waiting for Capricorn* think she'll be blue or something?

 

I'm saying I wont by the doll if nothing is released in so and so days. I'm not gonna wait around forever to see the doll as I have other dolls I want to buy :/

It's not out of anger its out of practicallity.

What exactly is this hobby about again? If someone got pissed at me for the time it takes me to present the preview for the new monthly release, I'd delete them from my mailing list without even thinking twice about it. Damn.

 

i fully understand soom being behind and everything, they have no "promise" to us at all, and we should be polite and be patient, and definately not MAD. its just that this extra time has given me time to think, and with my finances how they are, its making me double guess wanting to buy capricorn now is all. im not mad at them.

 

I'm agreeing with Bird of Hermes. I think we could be at least a little more understanding. Besides, I don't think we'd like to have people nipping at our heels just because we're taking a traditional holiday off, and are a bit later than usual putting out teasers for something most people will probably just want to see rather than purchase.

 

I can't wait to see what it is. I think this doll will brighten up the winter days I wonder what surprises are in store for us from soom with this doll. The antisipation is lovely torture

Now, first off, I have trouble understanding all of you who want to buy Capricorn just because its your birth month. Gemini is my birth month, but I have zero interest in Onyx, so I didn't even try to get my hands on her. Libra, Euclase, is the one I went for, because he's got the feet I need for my vulture demon.

I'm in agreement with Bird of Hermes and everyone else who is still excited to see what the new MD looks like. Calm down everyone! I'm sure Soom is just recovering from the holidays! It'll still be available for the same amount of days, and it's not going anywhere! Look, the Euclases will be starting to ship out on Monday, right? I'm sure Capricorn will be up, either for sale or as a teaser pic, on Monday as well. That's Sunday night for US residents.

And, for all of you lovely ladies complaining about the wait, have you thought about why there is a wait? Why the MDs have been released later and later? Look at the earlier dolls, like Deneb and Vega. Now look at the later dolls, like Topaz, Euclase, and Heliot. Soom's getting more daring. Now, for their pictures, they need a flawless, photograpable, Perfect prototype doll. I'm sure that alone takes some time to make a prototype like that, and I'm positive that Soom wants to end their Zodiac year with a bang.

Patience is a virtue, and I'm sure it will be well rewarded!

They are cutting it rather close, but then, I've always always thought that SOOM needed to take a break from new releases and work on their production times instead. I just got Topaz second-hand and she is so amazing...that before, when I thought I was safe against the girl dolls, now I'm not so sure anymore. >< Though...I'm not so entranced by weird resin colors. If she /were/ pale blue...I might die. I've always wanted a pale blue doll.

 

me too, i was waiting to see their doll before deciding but if they don't post the January doll (tomorrow is the 30th so they should probably go directly for the doll and not the teaser anymore) before january ends i'll buy a that cute super senior delf i've ogled in the last two weeks.
at least i'll don't have to get crazy again with waiting for getting it, especially considering they hanven't shipped Euclase yet and for god's sake that was the October doll. i understand waiting to get a good product but 4 whole months or more are a bit too much in my opinion, especially considering you have to pay it for it immediately if you want it as soon as possible.
this is the same reason why faced with choosing Heliot or souldoll Chiron in the end i bought the Chirons and not the Soom MD.

i can understand relasing a doll each month is very taxing, but than if they can't stick to the schedule they've set up for themselves they should simply change the concept fo MONTHLY DOLL and maybe make it a bimonthly release so they could
1 ship the dolls a bit faster
2 respect the time they say they're going for the release
it can be silly or sound impatient, but sometimes while waiting to see they monthly doll -released later and later- before deciding on a buy some lovely dolls i would have bought went sold out and i missed them or had to pay more money on ebay or yahoojapan to get them
