Soom Super Gem Beryl - Love Me Or Die version

I don't think she will come with hooves, if she did then a lot more people would be even more mad that she would come in NS with fantasy parts. I think this Beryl will be human only.

 

As I remember correctly, when Iplehouse released their first LE Noctarcana Circus dolls they said almost immediately after the release that they would release a basic version of them. That why I didn't order a Tatiana at that time, because I could always buy the basic version later on.

Soom answered to every question form customers to re-release their MD again, that they would never do that and they also said that they wouldn't release a basic version. They are doing that now. That's why I can understand that some people aren't really happy with Soom doing this. But I don't understand the nasty yelling and scolding on their site. If you are unhappy or even angry with it, you can also say it in normal words.

To me this release is different enough. This Beryl looks like my MD Beryl (I bought her directly form Soom), but when I look at her pictures I seeing a different girl. The skincolor is making such a difference. I would, however, have mixed feelings if Soom had released her in WS and with the fantasy parts, or even in NS with the fantasy part. That's just to close to the MD version.

I hope they don't do a lottery. I would love to buy this Beryl as well, but with a lottery I will never make a chance.

 

That's my thought as well that she will likely be a human only version.

I wasn't aware that they had promised to never release a basic version of their MDs, so I understand why that might upset some people if that was what was initially promised. I agree with you that there are more constructive ways to get one's point across. On the other hand, the molds belong to Soom and if they have decided to use them as they see fit, then there isn't a lot that a consumer who is upset about it can do (aside from making their opinion known). The details of this edition aren't really available, so I guess I will have to wait and see how they plan to release her. Just my opinion though!

If the "Special Order" tag is of any significance (and perhaps she will be limited or subject to specifically timed released like the For Five Days dolls), it does make her different from Iplehouse's basic editions which are available at all times.

 

Just for arguments sake...how do we know this to be true? How many people asked SOOM this question and how many genuine promises were made - for the most part the Q & A board is password protected...?

To me there is a big difference between someone answering the questions on a Q & A board and a company releasing a general statement for ALL to see clearly. sharneofshade took the time out on another thread to list exactly what SOOM declared as LE and NONE of the MD head sculpts were listed as this...Some have complained of false advertising, but again, another member brought up the fact that false advertising was originally an american concept and SOOM of course does not operate under any western legal system, (I'm sure), so again, how do we know this to be true? Some might still argue that they are being 'manipulative' or 'know what they are doing', but at the end of the day....they created this doll, they have the licences and whatnot for it, they have the right to do as they please with her.....If people are dissapointed, I still struggle to see why...in my eyes at least, the ws Beryl is still something so very special and beautiful and THIS is the version that will never be made again.

 

Thanks for mentioning that. I just search the Soom site if I could find anything about it, but the old questions and answers seem to have disappeared, probably with the move to the new site or a cleaning action from Soom. On the old site, the questions on the old board could be left open for every member to read and I have read several answers about not re-releasing her. I also thought to have read answers about not releasing her as a basic version, but I'm not sure about that anymore. My memory might be wrong about that, because I also search the old new thread on DoA and found a post form someone mentioning that Soom said they might release her as a basic (also on sooms Q&A board), but had no clear plans at that time. Sorry...I should have checked beforehand and not rely entirely on my memory.

Omg, thanks for that last point, Gelfling9uk. I'm happy, genuinely happy, that she's going to come available, even if only for a lotto. If this is a lotto, every one of us -- bar none -- can enter. I think of the potential opportunities this might spell, for instance, to get a non-Fantasy Vesuvia, since I missed the Fantasy Ves, and it makes me smile. A white skinned Ves would be transfixing. I actually like non-Fantasy Beryl better than I did Fantasy Beryl, and am close to being Soomed. I'll be thrilled for whomever gets to have one of these beauties!

Very true. I mean, just a year ago I remember bringing up the idea of Soom releasing an MSD line and I was given a twisted face and a 'that's pretty unlikely' type reaction. A year ago.. maybe it was even under a year ago, Soom had no plans of releasing an MSD line. Now suddenly they've released one! (much to my great happiness! )

I think a lot of the time they just don't know what the future might hold for their releases, and so they have this generic one size fits all reply for the questions they get.
The people who answer the Q&A most likely have nothing to do with doll production and design, just as the people who run the store in Japan have nothing to do with it. They only know what they're told.
I certainly don't remember their ever being a definite OUR MD OUR 100% LIMITED AND WILL NEVER BE RELEASED AGAIN type post by Soom.
In fact, I can safely say that I (and I suspect everyone else) just ASSUMED that all the MD were limited. I don't think it was ever written anywhere, I just made that assumption. ^_^;;

 

I'm lusting for her, Soom still didn't show the full teaser...

I've had a tab with Beryl's page open in my browser since they first released the teaser. Soom needs to release her soon ;_;

I'm already pretty certain that I will be getting her, if they don't release her as a lottery or something like that. but like I said before, being the broke art college student that I am I'd need a layaway.

GAH!!! I just got Zarconus (Soom IO) all dolled up and now....this Beryl is very very tempting for his girl....aaaaaaaaaaack!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I just love her in this form...I liked the first Beryl, but this one is PERFECT................... Geez. I too hope they will offer layaway...because I don't want to put her on a credit card...I just finished paying them all off!!!
