Soom Super Gem Dia

i bought a dia head, which is on its way to me, and i am going to try it on a dm model body and on a fin body... i also have an elfdoll body, but that does not sound like it will work.... will post pics when i get the head and try her on the bodies.

 

I just received my Dia head today... I'm going to but it on a Beryl body eventually, and I've briefly tried her on the TL2 body, which she looks great on. She has a small face but a large cranium, and would suit a neck in the 10cm diameter range best. I have an old LB elfdoll torso I can try her on, but I doubt it will look any good.

ETA: I tried the Dia head on the old LB Elfdoll torso and it looks not good. The neck is way too skinny and way too short. You could fill Dia's head socket completely just to raise the head to a not-ridiculous looking-height, but it's still way too skinny... the rest of the figure wouldn't look too bad though. Same for the Model Doll body ~ the neck is going to be too short and too thin. Feeple bodies might be alright because the neck is long, but again very thin. The Senior Delf girl body would probably work well, but then the skintone is likely going to be off, same with the Limhwa and Supia bodies, although they both have thicker necks. The Volks SD13 girl body also has a thicker neck but would be narrow in the shoulders and short in the arms and legs, plus has those tiny hands and feet.

 

Do you find the 65cm super gem size too long and tall to manage?

The biggest I have now is 60cm which I am comfortable with and I love the Dia head but I wonder whether her body will be too gangley to play with.

 

I've got my Dia head on a Beryl body so I'm using the hoof legs not the regular legs. Overall I think the body is nice, but I have started modding it to suit my preferences. I don't think the size in itself is prohibitive nor very different from 60cm dolls, and the joint I have most issues with is the hip.. so I have puttied in the hip socket to add some catches there like she has in the knee. I've also sanded down the bust A LOT because the default bust IMO does not match her build and proportions.

 

Yay Therese, you finally got your Dia!!! I seriously can't wait to see what you do with her and the body - be sure to bring her (and Ylisande) along to the next meet!

The seller decided that she wanted more time to think about selling the Dia-head so I'm not getting my Monclova soon.
Or atleast, not as soon as I hoped for.
I don't have the money right now to immediatly buy a complete Dia, so I guess I'll have to wait "for the moment".

Ahh man, I was so focussed on getting the head! I'm not angry though, just dissapointed and a tiny bit sad also.

 

You know you can layaway at soom, and get her on a boy body?

 

Ehh. . . No I didn't. :O

But still I don't know when I have the full amount together then. :/
Edit: Besides, I don't know if I want the Super Gem body actually. At the moment I'm very fond of the MNM body actually. It's cheaper also. . . :/

 

True- and he'll be about 61-62cm instead of 65. I just got a Demon garden body (super cheap, but the sculpt is lovely) and their colors are supposed to match soom very well. I can do a headswap with Astir if anyone's interested when he arrives, but I can't do a resin comparison because the body is WS and the head is NS

If it works out and I hate the Miho I may have a Dia boytwin

 

chizzie shark- thanks for posting the pic of dia on the elfdoll body. i have an older lb elfdoll body w/o a head right now, so it looks like it will work if my dm model doesn't... lovely sculpt on the dia head- i can't wait for mine to get here!

Cool pic lol. I love Dia but I don't own her. If I didn't already have three girls I totally would have though. Don't worry I have ordered Lupin and hardly anyone ever talks about him at least people are interested in Dia conversations.

 

I love Dia, but I'm not putting her in the Database until she's painted etc. Also not sure if she should be in the Dia database or the Beryl database since she has the succubus body. But I am waiting for a second Dia, so I would not claim there is no love for her

 

I have considered getting her. Is her body a problem? Poses ok?

 

i have dia rose queen on layaway, and a dia head in the mail making its way to me from europe... i will post pics someday soon!

 

It seems like the two more mature Dollstown bodies could work with her... since Dollstown Freshskin is a match for Soom Cream White.

I don't know if the 15 girl body would work for you TiggTea, but the slender build may be better to turn into an androgynous character. Also, Estella's head is really huge, and that's the body intended for it, so Dia might work?

 

FYI,

I found the Dollmore NS and Soom NS resins to be almost identical...for those who might be considering hybrids. However, the heads from Soom might be a bit bigger (basing this on my Bella Auden and Spinel couple).

But I decided that I'm going to put him on a Super Gem Male body.
. . . And I actually think I'm going to buy the jointed hands with it then also, I always have loved those!

I'm ready to order, all I'm waiting for is the sale of my Narin, I need his money.

 

I need to get some finances and my workshop space sorted out first, but I'll likely be ordering a Dia in the coming months to be Adrian's bodyguard, Megara.

She won't be as extensively modded as Adrian (my SOOM Lupin) is, but she'll bear the eagle-brand of the Caducades (she'll be a Warhammer 40K Cadian Inquisition stormtrooper).

And then I'll have to have fatigues and flak armor made for her, a helmet with rebreather mask, visor with gun-camera, firearms, knives, dogtags, so on so forth.

She'll be armed to the teeth, have violet-ish eyes and dark auburn hair cut short and boyish.

I just made an order for some combat boots for her, pre-emptively.
