Soom Super Gem Dia

Wooooooot!
Monclova arrived today!
I'm soooo happy with him. He's super tall, I didn't expect this. I did know he would be "5cm longer" but in reality that's more than I thought. XD
The pants he's wearing right now are way too short for him, it's cute almost. XD
Also his feet are huge, the shoes I had in mind for them are too small for him.
He's stunning, I love Dia's face, it's exactly what I want for Monclova (okay, a little eye-mod is requested though, but that's it).

His jointed hands are SUPER delicate I already discovered. I need to be extremely carefull with them, one of the hands is stringed a tad bit too tight also, I'm going to need to change that I think.
And they had TAPE inside of their hands. . . I wonder if all jointed hands have that?

Overall, I'm very happy with him. I can totally imagine Monclova in him, even without his face-up.

Adrian's hands had tape in them to keep them from coming unscrewed too often. Unfortunately the tape soon lost its grip, so I simply glued the wrist balls in place with Tacky Glue (the stuff I use for eyelashes).

It holds better and I can still twist it apart.

I have successfully pulled them apart twice for restringing and modding, so yeah. Just put a thin rim of it around the twisty part, where the wrist ball is, and not on the whole thing, and that'll prevent his hands from twisting off, because, honestly, they do it a lot when I left them au naturel.

Congrats TiggTea on Monclova! He's horheous, even without a face. Though after your mysterious comments I'm afraid to use any more adjectives...

Flamingomoon - Thanks! :3 I fell instantly in love with the wig as soon as I saw it on the SOOM site, but it was sold out all the time, so I had to wait with ordering Monclova untill it was restocked again.

MelWong - Thanks a lot! I'm getting super irritated right now because of the stupid hands going all weird all the time. The cheap-o tape doesn't make it much better either. So I'll do the Tacky Glue thing then as soon as possible. =D

Chizzie_Shark - Thanks! Haha, well in my previous message I dropped a little hint on what his face-up will be like. ;D He looks really pretty now face-upless indeed. Though, I can't wait untill he has his face-up and I can 'really' play with him.

I send him off to his face-upper today (Jubriel will be doing his face-up) so she can start as soon as possible on him!

I think that depends mostly on what you want;
A bit of a feminine boy with curves or a man-man?

Either way you can make them masculine ofcourse (with the right face-up, clothes, shoes, etc.).
Sabriell's Dia boy was also on the default girl body. :3

LOL, I'd like to spam her, but I'm still not fully finished with her yet. She needs a new faceup so her eyebrows look more Scandinavian light blonde, and she needs new eyes. >.< I'm excited to see Monclova though.

 

Hello and congrats on your gorgeous Dia boys and girls!

I have one small plea - could someone of you guys take a tape measure to your Dia's head and give me the exact reading? I would need the head circumference and, if possible, the length from the edge of the headcap across her face down to the tip of her chin.

The reason is according to Soom all Super Gem girls have the same head size - yet my newly arrived Onyx girl can pull her Super Gem wigs down over her ears, and her head looks very tiny. I just would like to know if there is a real difference in size between her and other Super Gem girls.

Dia head.... circumference .. as I would measure for a hat.... 22cm,
from 'hairline' in front to base of skull in back.. 12 1/2cm, ear to ear across top of head.... 12 1/2cm.
Bijou can wear a 9/10 in a non stretchy cap wig, and she seems to do better in and 8/9 in the stretchy ones like Monique or jPop.

Forgot.... headcap to chin .... 9.02 cm (give or take a bit on that one.)

The Super Gems seem to be pretty popular. I wish Soom would do a good basic line of clothes for those girls. I'm getting tired of sewing.
