Brightfires, it is a great color. Soom out did themselves.

Momotion, I find the color to be darker than she shows up in pictures. She is very purple. I also thought that there might be a difference between the hooves and the body, with the body being a shade darker. But it is hard to tell.

LiselT, you should be getting yours any day now! Did you get the eyes? I thought that the eyes were really good. They have little crystals in them.

 

I hope so! She has been my grail for over a decade, but I almost thought I would never see the day.

I ordered her as a full set with the romantic head, gold eyes and outfit. Got the blushing too, probably why I am still waiting lol. Only thing I didn't order was the wig, I will be making one for her myself

But Aoife, my Onyx, got a new outfit and I am so smitten! I am getting Arwen vibes from her.

My Heliot Jamil has had to give up his body to my Kana Doll Lucien named Celicon, but I ordered the DV Horseman body for Jamil, as he is the taller of the two unicorn boys (Celicon needs to be shorter which is why he got the Heliot body).

I also need to share Liam, my Soom Chrom from the 2011 FCE. He needs the knee sockets modded on his DF-A 65cm boy body to fit the old Chrom legs. So much to do so little motivation! Fortunately Liam’s legs are hidden by his pants so no one can tell that the fit is absolutely terrible XD

@Dybbuk Thank you! Her faceup is actually a company face-up! It's from the Astrologist release. I had always been a bit on the fence with the sculpt but I fell head over heels with this look!

 

@Dybbuk :: thank you, Heliot had been a long time grail of mine, but I absolutely hated the old bodies and I couldn’t justify the secondhand prices just to hybrid him anyway. And I wanted him as a unicorn with the hooves. Funny how I got just what I wanted only for another head to steal his body!

@LiselT :: thank you so much! I’ve always loved Heliot girls too, but I didn’t like any of the girl bodies with hooves as I didn’t like the old Soom bodies, and other companies didn’t make the right scale bodies either with hooves, or I just didn’t like the aesthetics of it. Jamil will be amazing on the other body too though, the measurements are close (shoulders are 1cm wider, and the butt is bigger) so his outfit should still fit as it has some stretch! Celicon, the body snatcher and Jamil’s lover, is better to be shorter, as he’s meant to be more delicate. I love the Heliot face a lot though, and I am glad I have him. Though I am tempted to open the eyes a little more, as I can hardly see them…

 

@IzabethS Isn't that always the way with the romantic/sleepy bedroom eye sculpts?! But I love them! I have been focused on my minifee for the last few years and whoo boy, they are SUCH snobs! Only urethane eyes, only alpaca wigs etc. Now all my big crew are demanding the same! I do find that the urethanes pick up light so much better in photos!

 

@LiselT yeah for sure! My Heliot has resin eyes from ashuradark and they are beautiful and show up in pictures. I’ve really fallen in love with resin eyes lately but some of the price tags are a bit much for me to swallow. I honestly do not own any alpaca wigs, because again, price! But fortunately I’ve been able to find good wigs in Tibetan lambskin mohair and synthetic fibers.

So I’ve come to question my fellow soom collectors for two questions. One does anyone have a soom sphaler? I recently removed his dragon parts and down sized him to a human and I think I like him better this way. I’ve had him since release and have done nothing with him. So I’m looking for inspiration for him

Two, a delf boy in my collection stole his dragon legs…What on earth fits those clawed legs? I really don’t want to unstring him again.

 

I can sort of answer number two. It is rough to fit anything over the Soom fantasy parts other than stretchy harem pants. My Heliot, before his body was stolen, got an outfit from CapsuleDolls on Etsy that was custom made so that the hooves wouldn't need to be removed. The artist is great at working from measurements alone, and I have several outfits from her now.
Sadly my Soom Chrom (Liam) has jeans on, so for him I do remove the legs if I have to change his pants for whatever dire reason. One day he will get a fancy outfit too, probably next year, from CapsuleDolls. Liam has been in my collection since 2014 and still doesn't have a perfect outfit, blasphemy!

 

i hear yah there. I have a lot of dolls who don’t have their outfits yet. I will check them out. I’m gonna try and make some fisher man pants for him. We’ll see how that goes. Lol

 

Rhyia is a Soom Euclase-The Last Judgement and wears his bird legs/feet as his defaults. His bird feet are as big as my hand (and darn those talons are sharp!) so there's no getting those through any sort of standard pant legs. Because he's part of my Divine Worship World, he typically wears a skirt-like garment. Akash is OT for this thread as he's a MD Snake Demon head on an Angell Studio Qingyi body but he's also got the ginormous bird feet and due to that, wear a skirt-like garment. He's also part of the Divine Worship World and is actually the Elder God who created Rhyia's species.

This is Rhyia wearing an outfit I made him. The outer/top skirt is made from the top of a pair of PJ's that no longer fit me.

Thank you. One of my other dolls has an outfit made from the rest of the PJ's and I'm rather pleased with how it turned out, too. He's OT for this thread though. And even though it is a skirt, I still need to put it on him one giant foot at a time because there's no way both of his feet will fit through at the same time through any reasonably sized opening.

I'd like to make a kilt-like skirt for Akash (OT for this thread but with huge bird feet, too) as he's currently borrowing Rhyia's fullset skirt and it's a bit too big in the waist for Akash. Soom boys are kinda thick. Doesn't stop me from wanting them though.
