1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

SOOM Super Gem Lupin discussion thread

Feb 28, 2008

    1. I think you should just mention it in the order, I did with my guy. I asked that his top lip have stuble as in his default pictures.

    2. Yep the five o'clock shadow comes with the faceup, my guy I requested to not have it and as far as I know unless you ask them not to they will blush the shadow as part of his face up. I hope that helps.

P.S. Welcome to the Lupin club, he's a gorgeous boy! Your just going to love him when you get him home. My Gavin has stolen my heart I just adore him :)

    3. It just gets me how Griffin and Gavin look nothing alike, and Adrian looks even less like them (although that's probably because I took a Dremel to his face.)

    4. Your so right Mel!! It could be the Dremel, but I think it's just cuz Adrian is so unique and fabulous. Adrian was one of the many reason I got Gavin.... I saw him (long before the Dremel lol) and totally fell in love and then saw the Soom pics and knew I had to have him.

    5. Awesome, thank you jacobean and gretch110! I can wait to get my guy (can't say boy) home soon. I'll make sure to post pictures when I do. ^^

    6. HAHA That's exactly how I felt, I had to call him guy too. It just feels wrong calling him a boy.

I have to agree Melwong All our Lupins are so different, he's a very versatile sculpt. I guess that's why we were all drawn to him, we could see how flexable his potential was and how easy he could be made in to who we wanted him to be. :)
BUT they are all very gorgeous. ;) Will be nice to see some more of him around. He's so underrated.

    7. Hey guys, I have a Lupin question here. I've been wanting a Lupin for a very long time, since he was first released in fact, but I didn't get him for the simple reason that he wasn't limited or only available on a fixed schedule, so I kept putting it off. I'm now about at the point where I am becoming determined to resist the monthlies and get a Lupin, except that I read somewhere that Soom had changed its resin between the first run and now, so Lupins coming out now are a different color than the early runs of Lupins. Is this true? I know resin varies a little batch to batch but usually it's not that noticeable or that big of a deal.

    8. Oh I'm not sure about that. My guy is a quite nice pink. Similar to Luts NS pretty much.

    9. The only thing I don't really like about Lupin is his lips. Lips are basically the first thing I look for in a doll, because it shows the true ... disposition of the doll.
But, accept for the lips, I'd get him.

    10. *wave* Um, Hi, I'm new here, but it's worth mentioning that I will be dressing my Lupin, once he gets here, in medieval clothes for his first couple outfits. I want to make some of his clothes myself, and I've noticed period fashions for BJDs seem to be pretty rare or very pricey. If the face-up works out I may be styling my boy up as a Viking and Saxon inspired Prince. I have a letter opener sword waiting for him.

    11. Hey everyone, I am going to resurrect this thread... I want more Lupin fans! I emailed Soom the other day asking when Lupin will be available to order in normal skin and they said he's only now sold in white skin. But this morning.... he appears to be sold out. Does this mean sold out forever?? I just discovered this man, and I really love him. I have such horrible timing. I haven't even seen one on the marketplace to buy second hand all this month too. I am really worried I am out of luck.

    12. I noticed about a week ago that he was sold out, I silently hoped it wasn't for good.

    13. I emailed Soom a week ago..... they told me that Lupin is discontinued forever :(
I am really sad about it. It seems they didn't give any notice!

    14. OH my goodness! That's really shocking and so sad, he's one of the best moulds I've seen since I started this hobby. That is such a shame they didn't give notice! I feel really bad knowing that he's never going to be around anymore. :( I always hoped more would spring up, he really is/was something special.

    15. I thought he was very unique, and I was actually planning on ordering him. I saw that only white skin was listed and emailed Soom about it. Then they told me he was discontinued. It was very abrupt! I am so surprised :(

    16. I noticed Lupin has sold out too, I have such a soft spot for the regular SG line. Lazule is my favourite sculpt ever and I'm also harbouring a bit of a pipe dream of some day owning Olivine/Carnel but, well, pigs might fly

They did actually give notice looonnnnng ago, early last year I think, you'd have to do some digging, but yeah. Apparently they were discontinuing Lazule, Lupin, Spinel and possibly even Dia, first phasing out WS then following on from there... presumably until stocks ran dry. I wouldn't want to give false hope (especially since Soom have confirmed that Lupin is sold out) but immediately after I bought my Lazule last August he showed up as sold out, but was available again a few weeks later, and I know of at least three lazules that have been purchased since, albeit with slight resin mismatching but that's a story for another thread...

I think there are plenty of Lupins lurking around out there, he's been available for a fair few years now, so never give up hope!

    17. I know Dia and Spinel have sold out from time to time but I think it was just to slow up an order period. They gave notice with Olivine I remember. Yeah I guess some people who have him kind lying around will decide to sell now he's OOP, to either give him a good home or to make money. I hope those who were saving for him can find him, I'd be crushed if the doll I was saving for vanished. :(
