Hi! Stupid question time as I just finally decided to putter about in here. I hope you all don't mind. When will there be pictures from the soom store? (I'm assuming this means pictures outside of their advertised ones...?) I was taken by Lami, but I'm not sure if I'll be going through with my plans just yet as it means purchasing a Lami, joining up a split and in the end, having two able bodied Lami..
What kind of pictures do you want, specifically? The did one of NS versus PS resin for the curious, if that's what you mean! I don't think they did any others, additionally, though.
I saw that one~ It made me adore the skintone all the more. I dunno. I simply recall there being a site where someone posted pictures they had taken of the newest soom dolls from their store. Sadly, I can't remember the name of it. >>; Oh well.
According to midnitestar7 they haven't actually arrived in the store yet, so we'll have to wait for that before someone takes pictures of them.
Yep, they're not there yet! Assuming they make it by Saturday, I'll be doing my usual trip to take photos of them!
That would be so awesome!!! Thank you midnitestar!!! BTW I am curious about the tails and the horns, how do they attach to the body? Does the doll have magnents inside the resin like Volk Yo-Tenshi, or do you have to put a magnent under the wig/clothes?
I'm curious about this too. I was thinking perhaps it would be sockets like the way their wings attach? Otherwise they would not offer extra 'human' body.. that confuses me - the current one looks pretty human to me except for the tail.
I guess it will be the same as usual with magnets inside the head and body. With my Taco the magnet for her tail had been adjusted by Soom, but the ones in the head, tail and horns had to put in by myself.
Pfft. I hate gluing in things myself; I'm so bad at it, and I always get burned by my gluegun. Ngggh.
Lelite and Splynterhayde - thanks so much for the DoD pictures and the extra info. I will now go to the DoD discussion threads and continue the resin conversation there, so as not to steer this post off topic. I'm still thinking about Lami. I love his resin color and sculpt, but I'm just not that into fantasy/devilish dolls. Does Soom ever release the limited fantasy sculpts as part of their regular line in human form?
Soom has been bringing back some of their old monthly dolls as part of the "special order" line, usually limited to a release of 50, with human parts (I think? I did see someone with a special order Chrom that had wolf paws/hands/head, but I'm not sure if those were picked up elsewhere). From what I've read, they've even told some people that they had no plans to bring back certain MD sculpts, so they won't do it for all of them. And they definitely don't bring back the non-standard resin colours. That being said, if you really like Lami, I'm sure you won't have any troubles finding people who want little devil horns and tails.
Lelite - you are thinking of the Xmas Soom clearout (regarding the Crom wioth fantasy parts) the SOs are just human - the latest is Chalco in WS
Yep, the Special Order line is just regular humans, all have been NS so far, with Chalco being WS, lovely! So it's possible that a sculpt can be rereleased as a human, but a) there's no guarantee and b) which head? The circumstance is that, to this point mind you, we haven't seen them rerelease a 'secondary' head like an R. Head in a human sculpt. So no R. Heliot head, no R. Onyx head, etc. Which is quite sad as typically the regular head is human and the secondary head is the more fantasy sculpt...I'd love to see some other heads released as well, but it may be just me, at this point we may see a Lamy or Trachy, but the surprised head, maybe not so much. .hlp
Ah, I see, my bad. Then yes, they've all been human. From what I've seen, it seems like Soom releases the ones that they saw sell the best as MD's through special order. Now, I may be biased, ( ) but I think Trachy and Lami have definitely been a fan favourite so there's a pretty good possibility that we'll see their human versions in the special order, but I doubt that it would be any sooner than at least a year from now. ETA: Oh, yes. There are a lot of splits for Lami with people wanting the surprise head or the fantasy parts, and as long as the price is right people like to buy them for their characters and stuff in the marketplace.
That's a fair comment, the SOs being the rereleases of the most popular molds hadn't seen that link between and a year at least would be a safe bet ... and would be the standard head too, not the one with the 'surprised-yet-very-cute' expression
So it sounds like the extra human body would just be for the second head to rest on, since it is a special coloured resin. I seeeee....
This is stressing me out....I might need to just bite the bullet and use the savings I shouldn't be using and reimburse myself later..I need Lami..Im going to wait it out a few days and contemplate..while waiting for my sister to decide if she wants the outfit. Anyone want to push me a tad closer to buying him? xD
Couldn't find Trachi&Lami waiting room, but I paid my 1st payment for Trachi today (2 month layway)! I guess she would be a perfect gf for my Jaki 8- ))
