Sooms new Elemental Babies! (Speculation)

Soom Lady sort of hinted that she thought the next tinies (air) could be a strange coloured resin.
Again though, I think that's just her personal opinion rather than fact.. I'm not sure.
STILL, there definitely is a chance!!!

 

LOLOL! I'd forgotten, totally, that I'd written this, though it's still something I completely think about.

I don't know, maybe they had planned to do cat-figures to sort of 'match up' to Chrom, but if his tinies didn't sell so well, they may switch to hooves? But I have no idea. I doubt they'd be so radical as to release different parts, have a predator/prey thing happening, though that would be astonishing too.

But for the Air speculation, I donno. Birdy bits seem to be logical, but on the other hand Topaz was also popular. Clear resin seems a given. And I wonder if they won't do the neutral gender again to allow them to Bygg and Beyla it, give us two very different dolls. One is like a rainbow, bright like Topaz, and the other is grey like Euclase? But coming on the heels of Bygg and Beyla, I'd probably cry.

I think that's VERY much a possibility too!
The gender neutral thing surely helped Beyla and Bygg sell a LOT more than they would of had they been boy and girl.
I know I would have been in trouble if they'd make Bygg a boy as I only get girl dolls!

The only problem I could see with doing it again is that Topaz was so obviously feminine. I'd really love to see the same sort of dress replicated again, but that would make it really obvious which one the girl was supposed to be, even if the gender was neutral - though I suppose things like clothing and wigs wouldn't matter for most people who don't get fullsets! Gender neutral would mean they could still do whatever they wanted.

I would cry too though, definitely. Cause gender neutral would mean I could have both of them, and if they were both so different (like a chibi topaz and a chibi euclase, but both with bird feet?) I'd PROBABLY WANT THEM BOTH!!!!

 

I... hate to say it.. 'cause I want a mini Amber far far too much... but there are cats in Norse mythology. Freyja had that cat drawn carriage. (After seeing that image a few times... it's hard to forget.) They're called Gib-cats... which is kinda odd, 'cause normally every other thing has a name... Just one of those things that set this a little apart.

I think, like many video games and other such things I've seen come out of the East but taken from the West-ish (you know, cross pollination and such), they are taking names and themes and whatnot... but certainly not the whole part and parcel... I suppose that is obvious... but what i mean to say is: I don't recall any fauns or demons or... really.. much of what Soom has created in Norse myth. It as a little flavor from many sections of the world myths... which I enjoy, certainly, but they are hardly following a theme... other than the one they've created themselves.

That said... I hope they continue with the themes they've created. I personally feel like I'm just getting the smallest of peeks at a far larger universe and have to piece the bits together for myself... which I like. And is part of the reason I enjoy what Soom does as well as this hobby... you have to bring a good deal of your own creativity with you. Of course this could be that I have only a 10.8% understanding of 'the Legend of the Gem'... but I've worked with less.

Visually... I hope they stick with little the Eclipse theme... 'cause mini talons would be soooo cute! I have trouble putting the fairy aspect into them without getting little Harpies... Not that that is bad, mind you... I just don't see how to cross over 'light and feminine and delicate' with 'dark and regal and striking'. Someone was speaking about crossing the textures of the two dolls... this could work for me. Little transparent resin tipped 'wing ears', or what have you... I could see that.

But Soom does seem to like to mix it up a little (despite the hooves... I know, I know... but those weren't that hard to carry through... I thought that visual those made perfect sense). And I think sometimes -have- to mix it up... I wonder... I haven't read this anywhere... but did they plan on putting these dolls together in a pantheon from the get go? It's a bit of a strange grouping... bits and pieces from all over. It's kinda totally wonderful

 

That's exactly it, isn't it? I have a Euclase and I have Topaz on layaway, so what would I do? I mean is it even a question? My pocketbook is looking at me with a frownie-face, it's like the opposite of the Geico money commercials.

But as for the clothing, if you go back and open the Topaz page and put it side-by-side with the Iv and Eliv page...do you think their clothes are a little bit flowery like hers are, almost matching? I was surprised at the time that their clothes seemed like that to me, actually. So I say there's a possiblity for sky, or they may go another route entirely.

I really would be so doomed if they made a chibi Euclase and Topaz and made them gender neutral!!!
Actually, I might even be tempted to get my first male doll for a chibi Euclase if he was an exactly mini replica!
So I think I'm hoping they do something different, cause my bank balance can only take ONE air tiny. Hear that brain, ONE!!!
Thankfully it's unlikely they'll make 2 chibi versions as so far they've kept the fantasy parts identical for each doll, so it's probably safe to say we'll be getting birds.
It's just that if one is WS and one is grey, they have transparent parts, one is dressed like Euclase and one dressed like Topaz, and they're gender neutral, it is going to be hard to say no to both!
Either that or I'll be in splits to get all the extras of the one I can't afford!

 

So, Sphaler is obviously not hooved but has claws. Do you think that will make the next tinies have claws too? I hope so!

 

LOL! A ton of people are hoping so, but honestly, we have no idea. Sphaler is in the 'Light' house, while the next tinies are going to be in the Air house. So it's logical they could be little birds... They could be little fairies like Topaz... or they could be something entirely different, the way Iv and Eliv, from Water, were nothing like Deneb or Vega.

I know that Sphaler is "light" and not "air" but I'm kind of hoping the next set of tinies will be dragons like him.... he's gorgeous but too much resin for me.

I think no matter what they do on the next set, I'm Soomed, I've been waiting for this set for months.

 

The last three houses have been the cause of much angst for me. I knew I would love Air because I love Heliot, and I really would die for an Onyx (preferaby grey), so no disappointments there. Air is worse, I have Euclase and will have a Topaz from Soom probably next month (don't ask, LOL!), so frankly, Air is my strongest weakness. Then they'll finish off with Earth, and that's Amber, naturally. Sigh.

But I don't know. I keep going to Euclase and Topaz's pages, and they are so different. Would they really be able to choose one style over the other? Topaz, according to some other postings, was extremely popular in Japan. Euclase was pretty popular on the Western shores. So if they go for a Japanese audience with the tinies next month, I wouldn't be surprised to see tiny fairies.

And then I look at how they handled the grey-white situation with the last set, and maybe we'll see gender-neutral tinies again with two color offerings?

Frankly, at this point I have way more questions than answers, LOL

I don't want them too but what if soom doesn't do little euclases or little topazs...what if they go a totally different way much like they did with the water tinys... I'm feeling a future "soomage" coming on ... oh dear *shakes head*

 

I'm really hoping for a little Amber....I'd really love those doe ears in tiny sized! I've completely stopped doll buying (not even fabric...sewing out of my stash) to allow me to buy her.

 

Well I have decided that the Air babies are going to be birdies, perhaps one grey and one WS, perhaps both WS, with transparent parts (birdy claws, hands and ears) and dressed in Topaz-esque fairy clothes.
Basically, FAIRY BIRDS! ::laughs::
Then for the god Galena, they can go the Egyptian type theme with bird claws and grey skin or something.
This is my last guess and I'm going to stick with it until we finally get to see at the end of the month what we've been speculating since what, April? xD

What I would LOVE to see Soom do is something completely different with their resin colour.
I'd love to see pink, blue and green resins, similar to Bambicrony!
These colours might be over the top with the bigger dolls, but I think they'd be ADORABLE on the teenies!!

Oh, I would so be Soomed in a big way if they did sparkly pink resin, but do you think they felt 'burned' by Vesuvia's initial bad reaction? Poor Ves! But I would probably die if they did adorable fairy resins, like pink and purple or something like that!

I wonder about the clothes. I sort of thought Iv's and Eliv's clothes matched up to Topaz for some reason, maybe the flowers? But I'd love to see clear-resin baby birds, aw!

But! So what do you think? Euclase came with two heads! Will we be seeing two heads with Air, do you think? I've been wondering about this lately, and will now do...the math! (how could the math possibly be wrong?! )

Beryl (1 head) + Sard (1 head) = 1 head for Glot/Glati
Vesuvia (1 head) + Bix (1 head) = 1 head for Hati/Skoll
Deneb (1 head) + Vega (1 head) = 1 head for Eliv/Iv
Onyx (2 heads) + Heliot (2 heads) = 2 heads for Bygg/Beyla
Topaz (1 head) + Euclase (2 heads) = ?
Amber (1 head) + Io (2 heads, 1 scarred!) = ?

So there you go, we could possibly see two heads for Air and for Earth, or just one-headedness. It's what's on my mind the last few days.

I really don't know what was with people's reaction to Vesuvia!
I ADORE HER. She's absolutely fabulous, and that RESIN COLOUR!
I'd have brought her home for sure if I was actually around and buying dolls at that point in time. (I was in my 5 year phase of telling myself I didn't need dolls at that point!)

But I think it was the "powerful sexual woman" thing that turned people off was it not, rather than the resin colour? I'm not really sure.

Sparkly pink resin would absolutely kill me. xD

As for the heads.. HMMM you're right!
Perhaps this means Air and and Earth COULD have 2 heads.
I think it all depends on Soom's main vision. It seems to be if their main vision has romantic eyes, they'll always release a second head as they know a lot of people don't like the half closed eye look.
I can see Galena for some reason having romantic eyes.. not sure about the teenies though!

P.S. Trust me, the maths could be wrong is it was I who was doing the calculations. Maths and I are not friends xDD

 

I think a lot of people really regretted not getting Vesuvia once they started seeing owner pictures. I know when I took mine around Gogadoll, many people fell in love with her gorgeous resin. I would loooove to see a tiny with that color resin, and maybe a topaz-ish face.

 

I was really hoping for a chibi Vesuvia for fire so we could get a beautiful little tiny with that purple resin, but alas that never happened.
It does seem like that's not something we're likely to get this year, but if Soom continues making fantasy tinies next year with a different storyline/expansion on the current storyline, we just might!
I'd be tempted to contact Soom and tell them just how much we'd like to see some tinies in fantasy fairy colours, but they're so busy dealing with all the WHERE IS MY DOLL??? posts right now, I'd feel bad bothering them!

 

I was hoping for a doll similar in resin colour to Vesuvia in the future, but since they are having a hard time or can't make the Vesuvias for their 2008 lottery, it makes me wonder.

 

Hmm yeah, we might not see fun coloured tinies for a while then sadly!

 

I do love the color resins, and Soom's obviously feeling a comfort level about grey (my elementary school art teacher's voice is ringing in my head that grey is not a color) to offer it for a third time for Bygg, which is encouraging. I'd love-love-love more color, but I know it's not to everyone's taste, so I think maybe a compromise would be color elements that were optional? Sort of like the Cass parts? That actually impressed me pretty much that they would make her fantasy parts optional, maybe some colored fantasy resins could be done?

Still hoping that we see a colorful air element a la Topaz, but of course we could be entirely off-base if they decide to go in a new direction. It's time for maths again!

Iv+Eliv = New direction (as I recall at this point the speculation was all new direction)
Bygg+Beyla = Chip off the old block

Soooo, it's pretty much a coin toss right now. But if I were to guess, of the two sets of tinies left, one will be chips off the old block, and the other will go in a new direction! So, were Topaz and Euclase more popular than Io and Amber? And not just here, but also world-wide, because of course some dolls were more popular in places like Japan than here...
