Sooms new Elemental Babies! (Speculation)

That's tricky cause as I've said before a few times, Io and Topaz were the most popular of last year here in Japan and of course Amber and Euclase were very popular with the DoA crowd in particular, Amber in particular!

I do think it would make sense NOT to do baby fawns for Earth. They've done so many different hooves up to this point that you just know people will start the HOOVES AGAIN? rant, and I'm sure Soom are aware of this.
Plus their designers must really enjoy creating something new, or something that's a variant of the original (like kittens but using real resin paws) so maybe they don't WANT to do hooves again or just copy Amber.
Saying that though, there are a LOT, and I mean a LOT of people waiting and saving up for mini Ambers. So many people have just assumed that's what's going to be coming, so there is going to be a LOT of disappointment and frustration if Soom go a different direction.

I'm bound to love whatever they release so, soomed either way! xD
All I ask is that our Air babies do in someway resemble either Topaz, Euclase or both. It would be sad if they suddenly pulled something totally different out of the air.. unless it's dragons and then I'd be happy (but that's unlikely!)

 

Baby dragons? Yeah, that would totally SOOM me, especially since I love and collect dragons, but Sphaler is quite epicly out of my price range, and I think he's great.

 

The problem with baby dragons is that it would mean crossing elements - Light dragon god with Air dragon babies.. so I really do think we'll get birdies, especially with their names!

 

Right. So it's really going to be a potential culture war taking place. Which side do they think will make them more money? And will they manage to artfully combine concepts, or just strike out new? Topaz and Euclase are such different concepts that they're going to have to choose one over the other, and Amber is a faun while Io's a predator.

It's the creativity versus customer demand thing. While a lot of folks will complain about the hooves again, as you say, the orders will also pour in, at least for the tinies I'll bet. Particularly since they were deprived the hooves for Sphaler, I'm more of a mind we will see hooves at the end now, because they 'got around it' for Sphaler. They won't have three hooved gods, but I still think two would be all right for them somehow.

Maybe they'll split the difference, and we'll have different tinies from the grownups from now until the end of the Soom year? So we could have, say, fairy tinies a la Topaz and then a bird-goddess, and then cat tinies and a hooved god?

I wonder if they'll even have Galena have bird feet now, as they might resemble Sphaler's too much, so I'm leaning more the fairy route. Of course I've been soooo wrong before...

I just want to be pleasantly surprised and perhaps enchanted once or twice, but not enough to break my wallet. I'm always wrong in what a speculate, so I better not get too excited. Little birds would be so cute though.

Baby birdies followed by Fairy Goddess. Kitten babies followed by fawn goddess.
That way we get everything covered and don't end up with loads of hooved babies or clawed gods.

Wow I just really want them to release the Air babies already cause I've been waiting since they started this years story!
The other element I was looking forward to (darkness) came first so I've been waiting for Air A LONG TIME!
This month is going to be LONNNNNG!

 

Probably not a month now, hurrah! I'm hoping within three weeks or so we'll find out. In the meantime there's the Dream of Doll event and Idealian to get through...

Idealian certainly looks interesting and so I am VERY thankful I don't go for male dolls!!!

3 weeks... 3 weeks... I've waited patiently for 6 months or so, I can wait another 3 weeks.. xDD

 

I just hope there aren't going to be BB Ambers, *can't go through it. I'll die*

I'm sorry but when I first saw Hati and Skoll, cute as they are, I thought they were little kitties. :I
They were adorable, but not for me. I don't think kitties would do it for me either if they actually did make them. But now that I actually have the money saved up for what I hope to be one last set of hooves, by that very fact, I'm guessing they won't be. (ok, it's not a matter of fact, but my own poor luck if they aren't fauns when I actually have the monies. heh.)

 

I sort of have to agree actually, now I think about it.
I LOVE cats and kittens might be my favourite thing in the entire world!
I have 2 cats, both just over 2 years old who still behave like stupid little kittens and I love them SO MUCH.
HOWEVER, I generally prefer my dolls to be darker and more mature rather than "cute". (I say generally cause, in what way is Eliv dark or mature and anything but cute? xD) Kittens seem like they could only be cute, unless they went the baby lion, tiger, leopard route which could be both cute and mature if need be?

 

I wonder if I can hope for a dastardly tiny creature from Soon this year. I have a realistic storyline for my dolls so I rarely have room for fantastical monthlies. But. One doll hears voices and if Soom releases an evil creature Ill have to rework my budget to say the least.

If the grey hooved tiny hadn't been grey I would have caved. Come on Soom, bring on the villians. Though I don't suppose most people are looking for that in tinies, haha.

 

One of my speculations this year was that NEXT year's series of MDs might be in the same universe as the current ones, but the VILLAINS.
Whether they release a series of kick ass villains with no real connection to the current dolls, or whether each element has it's own unique villain, who knows.
The latter would be AWESOME though. And if they did it the same way, we could get 1 Super Gem villain god/devil and 2 teeny villains per element.
I'd LOVE a bunch of little evil teenies and they would be sure to have the more extreme look I'm searching for!

They could do baby scorpions for fire for example. I know a lot of people were disappointed we didn't get little purple scopions this time round, so this would be Soom's chance to try it out! Scorpions are generally considered not so pleasant by most!
Darkness is already a DARK element, but they could do hooved babies again, but make them REALLY evil looking with intense makeup and body blushing, perhaps sharp looking hooves and wings? Plus hooves always sell.
Water, YES TO OCTOPUS! Giant SQUID! xDD
Light they could do the black unicorn everyone was hoping for this time.
Air they could do western style dragons then earth.. uhh...something predator like.. leopards or something!

The key would be that each would have very expressive and intense makeup and body blushing, as well as vibrant and powerful clothing.
I'd probably have problems not buying EVERY SINGLE ONE OF THEM!!!!

 

Ah I would die, I need hooved evil. I'd also love to see tan resin with warpaint on the faceups, cubs of some great cat perhaps with wee paws. >w<

Alas I think sweet and cute would breed more profit. Unless there are more people on Team Villian who are hiding. ^.~ Plotting and sneaking perhaps.

Back to this year, I'm guessing next month's tinies will have bird talons as they've dropped two big boys with them and no babies. No girls either but that would a good follow up for the previous months and I wouldn't be surprised.

 

I think the Western market would definitely take well to evil babies, especially if resin colour choices were offered for those times when special resin colours are used.
Cause at the end of the day, a lot of people get these dolls blank.
So even if Soom does their clothes and faceup in an evil style, people can just get the doll blank and do what they want.

Japan though definitely goes more for cute over dark, and I really have no idea how many people get the fullset and how many people get blank dolls.

Personally I think if Soom keep making hooves, for the time being they'll continue to sell so they should just MAKE EVIL THING!!!! xD

 

*raises hand* I'd be on Team Villain, if they made purple pearly crabs or warpaint kittens, or just about anything really!

Either way, I'm certainly looking forward to seeing if we get little birdies or fairies or whatnot for the 'Valkyries' this month (fingers crossed for teasers next week).

I'm totally hoping for Euclase babies next. x: I'm sure I'll never get a Euclase even though I adore him, so this would be perfect for me... a little grey-skinned babybird would be perfect. ;w;
