Sooms new Elemental Babies! (Speculation)

I don't have my stuff here to check the brand - I know it's two-part, 10:9 by volume. Lovely stuff - I have almost no issues with bubbles even without a vacuum. The clear I use is much more annoying - 1:1 by volume, but much thicker and prone to bubbles - plus I have to put a lamp on it to warm it up, or it doesn't set >.<

Mould-making drives me batty (except I've recently discovered that I can grind mis-cast moulds up finely and use them as filler in remakes, so I'm less annoyed at 'wasted' silicone now).

I'm planning on them being about 22cm tall, and roughly that long again from nose to tail.

... Which, to get this a bit more on-topic, is almost exactly the right size for a SG teeny to befriend (not sure if the size would work for riding, but it should be enough for them to feel in scale with each other). They're actually designed to befriend my Pipos, but I can already see it's going to be tempting to buy them some Soom teenies for company >.>;

Still no birdies huh! I was so hoping they'd be here by the time I got back!

And for the wings, I was thinking wings like Cuprit had! Big fabric ones in shimmery translucent fabric!
Saying that though HUGE transparent resin wings could be nice, but HEAVY! ANd tiny ones would be kinda pointless.

 

I'm honestly starting to feel that after all this hype I'm going to be massively disappointed... I want to see a very cute head with very cute (pink! purple!) euclase ears! Now! And a nice outfit...

 

Hahaha we've all hyped ourselves up way too much and all have our own very specific images of what we want.
I have to say this is the first time I've really know EXACTLY what I want down to the last detail!
The only think I don't have exactly in my mind is the face, but I know I'd rather it be on the sad side this time - though I suspect as both Topaz and Euclase were sort of smiley (or grinning evily! I still think Euclase is evil, but awesome! xD), these tinies might have more of that in them.
To be honest though I've never been disappointed with a Soom tiny MD face so far so, I'm honestly not worried about the face! I'll probably love it! Thought I really want to see them do something more extreme with the faceup! The tinies have just been SO tame so far!

I think it's funny that so many of us are craving pink or purple though!!
COME ON SOOM! GIVE US PURPLE OR PINK FOR THE GIRL, then something new and exciting like green for the boy!!

 

I can't say I've even begun to think of my perfect doll... I think I just like pretty things as they come, rather than hoping for something specific.. Probably cos my mind changes so often. To whit: Max is getting her 5th faceup or so XD
I can say, that I would love pink resin in some form, even if it's just wings or something. I love pink, so yes, pink resin kgo. Although it's not likely as they got burned by Cuprit's blue resin.. but the fish teenys had pink and blue resin didn't they?

 

Usually I don't plan so much about what I want a doll to be like! I just take what I'm given, like it or don't like it.
But I've been looking forward to these ones for SO long and it's only natural that I've speculated so much, I've created my idea of the perfect doll in my head. OOPS!!

And yes! The feeshies did have transparent resin in pink and blue!
I really did ADORE the feeshies. While my favourite head so far has probably been Bygg and Beyla (R.head for Bygg, OE head for Beyla), overall I think the feeshies got me the most.
I wasn't expecting to love them and they just KILLED ME!
Soom did everything I love. I got translucent resin, funky fantasy legs, hands and ears, an abnormal coloured wig, sparkly eyes, and sparkly clothes!
I freaked out immediately and ordered a fullset without hesitation the second they came on sale here! ::laughs::

I just love SPARKLES. It's often hard to get the style I like as most companies really don't make it, and soom have proved that they CAN and so I really want to see much more of it!
I'd just LOVE to see something like Topaz's dress, but in MINI!

 

I haven't seen much of Topaz's dress, I'll have to see if I can make something that tiny maybe XD Sewing small is painful T_T PAINFUL. You think I mean in attempt, but no, I have a callous, and pin pricked hands.
You're making me wish I'd ordered the pink feeshy now T_T I'll have to keep an eye out when they start arriving.

 

Yep, this was what I did with Bygg and Beyla. My Onyx love = huge, and my Heliot love is also much-much love, so I knew I was in such trouble for Air. And I have to say, love does hurt.

(Cutting the feeshie love because, hey, it's so true )

Now I've posted this before, but for some reason the Iv and Eliv clothes really reminded me of Topaz's outfit for some reason, I think it's because they had little flower ornaments too. So I can see them doing some gauzy interpretation of the same for Air.

Of more interest to me is the fact that they're probably going to be birds a la Euclase, with the little tufty ears and birdy foots, which means they are chips off the old block. I'd say that means Amber and Io's tinies would be something different, to balance out the year, but I'd say, since we didn't get a hooved god in Sphaler, we will probably have one for Earth.

But clothes, will they go Egyptian theme, or will they go fairy theme, I truly don't know. I'm wondering if we won't see grey, though, since they are going to be whipping up a huge pile of grey resin at the end of the year anyways....

For all the Bygg tinies they have to ship out. Why not 'double up' and make more dolls while they're at it?

Ahhh right, I always forget they don't really start making the dolls for ages.

 

Re. Eliv and Iv fishy-freshie cuteness, those dolls are really imaginative sculpts. It really highlights how far Soom has come from the earliest dolls. Tiny dolls strike me as harder to make (for some reason) and so really detailed fantasy tinies are impressive.

However, the freshies aren't what I came to talk about.

Where are the Air Tinies already?!! I just wannu see them now. I wonder if I'll be more or less interested in them if they have talons...? You know, in that regard, you could almost look at Topaz as a songbird, like a hummingbird, to contrast with Euclase.

Re. the clothing, I think it will be filmy and ethereal. Look at the kinda-pharoah skirt that Euclase has. I don't know if we'd get flowers, although it would work well if one of the Air tinies was a hummingbird.

I do agree that the Earth Tinies are complete unknowns at this point. Really there's too much to speculate about. (Making it very fun!)

I do think I really hope to see a Topaz songbird kind character.

Now don't get me wrong, I LOVE Egyptian style things.
I completely hate history, but for whatever reason I love egyptian history! Might be because I lived in Cyprus as a kid and we took a school trip to Egypt.
I was only 10 I think, and the whole experience really left and impact on me.
I was TERRIFIED of everything, but yet because of that fascinated!
Therefore I love Euclase because the evil just radiates off him for me!

However, I'm not really sure how that would fit into my dolly family?
Something shimmery and sparkly would fit so much better.
Not just that, I can't see another excuse Soom will have to go ALL OUT CUTE - and Japan would be much bigger fans of the ALL OUT CUTE birdies than they would evil Egyptian birdies! xD

 

We must have totally different styles. *laugh* I'm hoping for something more like crows (if they are based on Valkyries, which turned into either swans or crows). If they could do a black, or almost black resin, that'd be hyper cool.

 

So you're almost hoping for a look like Odin's ravens, yes? And then a Valkyrie for the goddess... It'll be interesting to see if they embrace the mythology quite like that, actually. But I donno, after the grey and white, I feel like we might be seeing some color soon...

That's where my grey skin and lots of purple idea comes from.. CROWS! (yes I know crows aren't purple! xD)
When I think of the basic way they could represent a crow, the vibe comes out very similar to Bygg (she/he even had crow wings) and that's why I ended up thinking they wouldn't go down the obvious crow path.

So I imagined grey skin, purple hooves, wig etc, and the wings, I imagine them being sparkly and translucent yes, but grey or black. Something dark.
Basically, I started with the image of a crow then played with elements of Euclase and Topaz and came up with my bizarre crow interpretation THING. xD

 

Yeah, while the one BS and one WS would be very true to the myth itself, we just had that with Bygg and Beyla, and you know people would complain that soom were being lazy.
Plus like I said, Bygg already had a certain vibe that if they did GS again, they'd have to go the opposite route to lots of blacks, greys and subtle dark shakes to something colourful.
Otherwise we'd just end up with 2 identical grey dolls.

They should just release the teaser already so at least we'll know skin tone and a basic grasp on faceup/wig colour or perhaps fantasy parts if they do what they did with Eliv and Iv (picture of face and one of feet).

 

Oh god, please tiny ravens, that way Galena will be a Valkyrie. I will even give up begging for pink resin parts, if Galena is going to be that cool :P
