Sooms new Elemental Babies! (Speculation)

Thanks for putting the things in order, Shara. It makes sense IMO.
So, maybe we will have out little dryad by the time they release the small positive. Or maybe not, didn't Soom say somewhere in the story that they are all animals?
I'm so dreaming of little sheepies for the Earth element!! Just imagine, sheepies!

 

You're probably right about them being only animals, but still my list of speculation is:

Water - kappa/ two little froggies (one WS, one green)
Wood - dryad/ two little flowerbeings (one WS, other some weird colour, pink!)
Earth - no idea, nut rooting for your sheeps here, babyelf ( WS and really dark tan, maybe?)
Fire - phoenix/ quite like akl/yrie, but in WS and red/orange
Metal - an armadillo XD in WS and GS

Just throwing these from the top of my head... Can't wait to see what Soom's up to this year! Although unless they release something in NS I'm pretty much on the safe side. Except for the dryad, that would kill me. So if they release dryads, make them come out in the fall when I might have money for them...

 

Argh, I'd be dead if they made a kappa. I need a kappa. They might have the tinies as kappas, though.

I don't know if they'd make fire a bird/phoenix though, since Galena was already a phoenix. I think if they do birdies again they'd at least go with a different theme, like maybe black/silvery colored metal birds. Earth is the most likely to be hooves again - maybe Chinese unicorns? Or sheep/rams.

That's correct, but both of those pairs were from the last year's set and hence not strictly under speculation anymore

 

They all ready did unicorns (Bygg/Beyla) as well as sheep/rams/goats in a way (Glot/Glati). I doubt that they'd make a new scuplt of a doll idea that they did in Episode 1 of their MDs.

Personally, I'm hoping for lil lizards or amphibians of some sort...

I'm hoping we'll see some sort of tree-person in the upcoming dolls...a Teenie treething would definitely put me on the SOOMed list again. xD I don't think I quite understand the story for this year (or I guess I could say it better as, I haven't really read anything about it yet...)

Right now I'm sort of.. concerned(?).. well not concerned, just I think I might not buy from Soom so much if things go the way I think they're going.
So far this year we've had 2 releases that are much more animal like than previous releases (by which I mean they're more realistic animals like foxes and cats rather than the more fantastical beings we were seeing last year - even something like a faun had transparent resin and wasn't trying to look like a REAL faun).
Plus, they way they've been going about the designs is quite anime.
I thought Breccia was beautiful and loved the new big breast body type (please release that again soooom) but she was just too SIMPLE for me the buy her in the end. Same with Appini and Shonki.. I'll probably end up with Shonki just because I can't say no to the black resin, but overall the design just isn't my thing and the sculpt is too realistically childlike.

I'd much rather see Soom go down a path of more fantastical creatures and more fantasy resin (yes they did black resin, but their execution was way off for me).
So dryads and such would be fabulous for me, and that's the path I really hope they go down!!

 

I would love to see more water creatures too since the Teenie merpeople were not such a hit. I'd also like to see less cutesy things, the two this year are DEFINITELY cutecutecute. I want to see things like little dinosaurs and treepeople and the like.

Ya know what I couldn't help but think about Breccia? She reminded me SO much of Sard, they have the same distinctive mouth. She's the big boobied female version of Sard. @_@

 

I'd love to see more water creatures too as fantasy parts wise, Eliv and Iv were by far my favourites from last year!
Pink and Blue wigs, the most interesting makeup, the best clothes.. and transparent coloured parts that were SO unique and fabulous? How can you go wrong? ::laughs::
Usually I don't go for smiley dolls, and I was definitely worried I wouldn't bond with my Eliv and was considering changing her head, but then she arrived and had SO much character, I just adored her! The only think that would make her better is if she had coloured resin! xD

But yes, that pretty much sums up what I've been thinking. I'd love to see LESS cutecutecute.
There just seems to be so much cute out there in the tinies market (as it makes sense to make tinies cute as they're.. well.. small xD), and Soom was really the only company I felt were really breaking out of that.
My Yrie and Afi in particular have such a grownup air about them, they've fitted into their characters perfectly (I don't have child dolls so, it's important all the tinies I get fit into my mature characters)

I'd basically like to see more things like what they did with Eliv and Iv - really unique ideas based loosely on the element/house they represent.
I still haven't forgotten the idea we had a while back of a moon and sun tiny with silver and gold resin, transparent parts and so on. THAT WOULD KILL ME. I would have to have them both, without a doubt!!

 

I agree with you, midnitestar7. I'm really concerned that all the new tinies will be more animal-like and cute, and less fantasy-themed. I mean animals are fun, but they can be executed more... how can I put it... easily and less imaginative... just natural looking. Fantasy-themed tinies really afford a lot of planning and creative thinking, maybe that's why Soom is going this way (if they really are... their story seems to be animal-related).
But maybe I'm totally wrong and the next tinies will knock me over^^.
My personal favourite of all the previous tinies is a combination of Ai romantic head with a Glot body. I can't help being a sheepish person^^.

 

I had a really odd dream just the other night that soom had released the new MD and that it was a tiny again..... and it was a monkey! My dream imagination made it super cute and now I kind of hope they DO make a monkey at some point.

 

I'm kind of wondering if Soom is getting burned out from the Monthly Dolls. It must be stressful, creating a brand new sculpt each month with fantasy parts and then filling the huge number of orders. Maybe they're going the safe route to avoid any mess-ups that would cause people not to order though it seems this year people have ordered way less than, say, Sard or even Chalco. I would like to see less strictly animal stuff and more wacky, off the wall things.

 

From what I know, pretty much everyone who started the original MD series is no longer at Soom.
Basically, all the original MD creators have left the company now. So the entire team working on this years MDs are COMPLETELY different.
It therefore makes sense that we're seeing a totally different style.

At any rate, I've been BLOWN AWAY by my dolly arrival today... my new girl makes my Soom dolls (all 6 of them) look quite boring, she's just THAT fabulous.
So Soom is really going to have to do something amazing for me to keep buying from them I suspect.
Everyone is just going to look DULL against this one new doll!!!

 

OT, but I have to ask: Which doll did you receive, midnite?
