Sooms new Elemental Babies! (Speculation)

I really love Marimo's sculpts as well! i didnt look at the sculpters much but i could tell that alk/yrie was so different from the others. So far the faces of the new tinies arent too my liking but they are very new so thats a plus.

I would like to think for fire maybe some kind of hell hound, but isnt that kinda what Chrom was? lol.

The whole positive/negative thing has me confused @.@

 

Hmm.. I might have thought of a hopeful little loophole for this one ^^
They could still do the same theme, for instance a scorpion-doll, and change the sex, make a Vesuvius instead of a Vesuvia! Let's face it, they've done so many hooves, they might just do it..

I do think that the resin color loop will hold, at least with the tinies:
Cream White + Gray
Cream White + Tan
Cream White + Mystery Fantasy color
repeat.

A Hellhound would mean even more paws! I don't think they'll do that. They'll have to skip paws and hooves for a few releases. I do think the fire release will have a Tan doll, which means that the Earth release might have the Mystery Fantasy resin. Maybe we'll get the green that's been asked for... I also think they'll keep using animal(ish) themes, though gargoyles aren't technically animals.. I'd love to see a tiny Topaz fairy... but I'm rambling.

I'm also quite confused by the positive/negative thing. I'm guessing it has more to do with the story than the doll-design..

Turns out these gargoyles are also Jun Hye Eun's sculpt (like Alk/Yrie and Shonki/Appini)
It makes me wonder if we'll ever see anything by Marimo again.

 

Well, the new (apparently) SD of this Monthly series is out as a teaser and it's time to kick some life into this thread as well I have a pretty good hunch that next month there'll be a tan/white pairing of tinies. I'm guessing this one is either Earth or Wood element doll (but could very well be wrong). I'm leaning towards Earth because I'm geeting a Chalco vibe from this new doll and he was Earth (albeit from a different story) and also because she(?) doesn't look like a flower dryad and I'd really like one!

 

Hmm, but with that water background? Last year I speculated that Cass would be tan, because duh, water and beaches = tans for me, LOL! But I was dead wrong. Maybe this year it will be a tan girl for the water? But on the other hand water represented by girls twice would be a bit down...

Water had me thinking as well, but I get a more earthy vibe from this girl. Tan and the green outfit does that to me. But you might very well be right! I hope we'll find out at the end of the week.

 

I'm getting a watery vibe here too, which would suggest perhaps something watery for the tinies too?
Also, the gem is one made of coral and such so.. water? Maybe?

 

Now you see, I really like the Alk/Yrie sculpt (well at least the head). I still hope to snag one of the heads for a character of mine.

 

Well Shonki/Appini didn't fit with the big doll (fox is not the same as cats). You may still see a few surprises...not sure if they'll go for the crustaceans though. Bix and Vesuvia din't sell too well till the hit the second hand market (which didn't help Soom any).

 

I'm getting a water-vibe from this one too, with the water in the background, and the name. "Coquina", maybe they're going with a clam-theme. I kid, I kid.
However, the green dress and the skull (another one?) on her head makes me wonder if this could be another earthy theme. If they do bring back the earth theme, I hope they'll leave the hooves out for a while, and go a little more original route.

 

Hm, no animal theme shown here... that's really a tough one to guess (I'm sure there will be some kind of animal parts attached).

Asking Wikipedia about "Coquina": ... is an incompletely consolidated sedimentary rock. Coquina was formed in association with marine reefs and is a variety of "coral rag", technically a subset of limestone.

So that sounds like WATER to me.

 

There was some naga speculation in the Coquina discussion thread. With her nimble fingers (they're not webbed), the snakeprint (?) dress, it might be an option. I'd enjoy a reptilian doll from SOOM, but for the water theme..? I'm a huge sucker for water themes, mermaids etc. (still hunting down Iv fish parts) and I don't really feel that a snake would do the element justice.
*shrugs* that's just me, though.

 

Oh, I'd be quite fine with a water snake, they are typically far deadlier than their on-shore cousins, it would be quite dramatic if you asked me! I wonder if they would do some sort of amphibian...now that would be daring! Frog tinies?! ^ ^

Though overall I'm hoping I hate all the tinies from here on out!
As it is, I have way too many of them... and now Soom are trying out the little gem size, I'm sure I'm going to end up wanting the first girls they release there.
I don't want to want the SG, LG and TG! That's just TOO MUCH WANTING!!!

 

I'm really really hoping to get a tan tiny with a good face. I would have hoped that one would have come a bit later this year since next month money is going to be tight but I've already calculated what just the human ver would cost me. So in addition I'm hoping I'll hate the fantasy parts but they'll be adorable so others will want them So just speculating for the speculation, I don't really care what the fantasy bits are.

After all of your remarks I'm too starting to think this could very well be Water. I would have like a tanned tree creature (which would make this Earth or Tree), but one can't have it all, eh? Too bad the tinies are always chibis, I'd really like slender hands like those for my tinies.

A water snake would indeed be dramatic, but how will they get the water element in, in such a way that it doesn't look like just another snake?

Yes. I agree. I didn't like Shonki/Appini's face, and after the initial infatuation I am on the fence with Grit/Syen.
I would personally like to see another smiling face, like Eliv/Iv.

 

palartok, I on the other hand would actually prefer a slightly grumpy face more like Glot/Glati Well, whatever Soom does, someone will like it!

 

Shara that's for sure! I just hope the face will be a little more expressive through the mouth, than just depending on the eyebrows in the face-up, so grumpy's okay with me too ^^

 

I think the new SD is probably wood, while the background is water why would water have a skull part on top of her head??? its rather confusing soom!

P.S. what is this 'remaining story' now that has the two MSD goat boys in it? is that like leftovers that didnt make the MD cut?

 

I was thinking that too. Then I thought: Maybe she's a water buffalo! But I don't think Soom could get away with hooves again. Then I thought: Maybe she's an otter! Which would be nifty, but yet again an animal without much Wow! for the female dolls.

I don't know, but if we get a Topaz MSD and no Topaz tiny I'll have some rage issues.
