Soom's Sweet Melody of June: Eliv & Iv (MD)

The faces and fin ears are cute but I managed to slide by this time. Not really thrilled about the feet.

 

I can resist, but I'm curious to see what the taller version will look like. I'm still hoping for dragons eventually.

 

I rather like the feet myself. freaking Pisces-ness...

 

I'm on of those weird people that was born on a total cusp. Cusp day cusp time between Aries and Pisces!
By something like an hour, I'm an Aries, but whenever looking at personlity trait associated with star signs, I always fine myself an even mix of both signs to the point where if I'm checking my horoscopes for some reason, I'll general read both!

So Glot, and in the end Cuprit too, became my Aries girls (as I missed Beryl), and now it looks like this little cutie is going to be my Pisces girl!

Everyone just keep me away from next month's MD though cause I just cannot afford another giant doll right now!!!

And i juuust got my Teenie Gem Mint, now i want another Soom Bb.

They look like ws though, if they were Ns i'd have one in a heartbeat for that adorable face.

 

Ow wow I didn't even think about their skin tone!
I really hope they're WS!!! I'd never really choose NS unless the sculpt happened to be my dream doll or just perfect for me and was limited to NS!! (Like my Musedoll who's on the way, though I hear Musedoll NS is pretty white and their WS is DEATH xDD)
I'm not sure these two fishies being NS would put me off them, I'd just MUCH MUCH rather they were WS.

Sometimes I wonder why we don't get options for these things. Maybe it would just make too muich work for them?
I mean, I love WS and wouldn't have it any other way, but I see a lot of posts around here from people who really want to see more NS with the MDs. Surely they could make more sales if both options were offered?
The same goes with the crazy coloured resins!

Well, at this point I'm sure the people who love Eliv and Iv will love them regardless of skin tone!
I'm starting to get the feeling this might be another MD with lots of splits, but very few full sets around though.. though that could all change when all the pics come out! (I am trying NOT to refresh every minute as they probably won't come out until Monday!)

 

No sir, I don't like it.

I had high hopes for tailed mermaids. These are just lame. It looks like Soom isn't even trying. Sure their faces are cute, but what's the point of having a fantasy limited doll that you can't use the fantasy limited parts of?

 

I actually really don't like these at all. Definitely my least favorite. A mermaid tail would have been much better but even if they had that instead I don't care for the faces at all. I really like the fin ears. That's about all the positive I can say for them though. :/

 

Does anyone know if the clear parts are completely clear, then painted with the pink or blue, or is the pink/blue color molded into the clear resin? I was just curious if I buy a doll unpainted, will the fins be completely clear?

ETA: I actually find that I prefer these strange "fishy feet" to a regular mermaid tail. As Anavel pointed out, it looks like they may actually be able to stand on these.

 

it could be a bit of both? painted and colored.... topaz fairy pants were tinted yellow but painted to match the skin tone... and heliot's horn is clear but painted white to match skin...

 

Same here! A resin mermaid tail seems kind of MEH to me, especially since the doll wouldn't be able to stand.
I actually think these two aren't mermaids but perhaps are supposed to be some kind of aquatic creature? Which is just so much more interesting and creative than a mermaid, especially since they've already done that before.

I'm just overall really happy with the fantasy parts we can see so far.. they're SO much more than I was hoping for!
The basic mermaid I assumed was coming probably wouldn't have tempted me as much as this!

Need to wait for more pictures before I can say for sure, but I have a feeling these 2 are probably the cutest so far in terms of bodies and fantasy parts!
Probably the Glot/Glati sculpt still wins for face though just because I prefer pouty/sad/grumpy sculpts over smiling ones. But who knows! Need more pictures!

 

I agree completely ^_^ I have a Puki Poseidon Cupid who has his mermaid / mershark tail and he is so hard to pose T_T He can't stand on his own and requires his special stand. It looks like these two can actually stand with fin-like feet ^_^ And I'm happy they don't look like the traditional mermaid/merboy~ They look more like unique sea creatures that have a lot of potential I tend to like pouty faces too, but since I have a lot of grumpy and sad looking Yosd's it would be nice to get someone who is a little happier looking ^^

 

I am so glad Soom introduced Tinies. Gives my wallet a month to recover between the larger MDs. Thankfully, these two do nothing for me. Their ears are adorable, but their smiles look slightly demented and I'm not a fan of the clear-resin finny-feet. The idea in itself is awesome, but something got lost in the execution and I can't put my finger on it. It does make me wonder what July will look like, though.

 

Ok can be honesty...the feet freak me out...alot...Ok after looking agine i think it's the ankels...those scales are kinda creepy....

 

Ahahaha same here! I have a mass of not so happy looking girls at home, so was thinking that a smiley girl might be a refreshing change!
I also think she'd make a great little playmate for my Glot!

 

About the fishy-feets color, the clear resin might actually be colored. Topaz's peachy colored clear resin fairy parts came peachy colored even if you didn't get body painting; I believe the resin itself may have been tinted.

I'm still on the fence about these little ones but I'm thinking I'll be able to let them go. I adore the theme and the ears and the feet but I'm not so sure about their smiley faces. They're cute as all get-out but I tend to prefer dolls with a more neutral expression. And if next month's big girl is anything like these two, then I'd best be saving my money anyway! ^^;

I think they're so bloody adorable. Soom is so inventive, with the shape of the feet and all. I think it worked perfectly and turned out amazing.

 

Misa1, and again I agree with you! Mermaid tails are pretty common on dolls, nowadays, I'm glad they tried something different.
I love Asian goldfish and Koi art, I'd love to get the little girl and dress her in Wa-loli with little goldfish pattern on it....

 

About how long does it usually take Soom to release all the pictures after the teaser is up? I'm dying to see more of these two.

 

Oh I just cant wait, I hope this means they'll have a reg sized water element next month as that seems to be the trend!
