In other news: Nickys' body is finally coming home!

 

I'm disappointed.

I waited so long for my Morse doll to come from Souldoll, and he finally arrived just after Christmas. So I've lived with him now for a few weeks... and I'm just not happy with his face and head. The head almost seems misshapen, the back of the head too large and the face just too small. I've placed the head next to other heads from 60 cm dolls, and it's SO much smaller! I don't know if all Souldoll boys have heads like that, but I'm just so unhappy with how he looks. (He's supposed to represent one of my favorite characters, so that saddens me even more.)

I've decided I want to replace the head with one from another company. I'm researching different sculpts, noting the neck circumferences especially. But it's so hard to tell for sure what will fit and look good, and especially what skin tones will be a close match. I have an Illusion Spirit Gino that is pretty close--I can live with the slight difference. Unfortunately, Gino doesn't look anything like my character! (And that would leave me with a headless Illusion Spirit doll!)

Has anyone replaced the heads on their Souldoll? Do you have any suggestions on what might be a good match?

Here's a photo of the Morse head with two other comparable doll heads (Migidoll Mu on left and Elfdoll Aden on right). I realize these dolls are art and made to the stylistic preferences of their artists, but the Morse head is SO different it just looks wrong to me. Does anyone agree?

 

I found a Doll in Mind Minimee head on eBay that I think will work! The sculpt is awesome and the neck circumference is the same. The skin tone is pink, like my Morse doll. Hope it'll match well!

 

Granado NS Pink is supposed to be a good match for Souldoll. They make some lovely sculpts.

Also...my jointed hands are too yellow. >.<'

So now I have to hunt for a pinker toned pair. @__@ And DZ doesn't sell their hands anymore...(or not yet...? :I)

DZ and Soom are my preferred choices...but...they aren't instock. T____T

Nicky is much more pinkish and the hands are NS yellow. I'm bummed cuz I love the hands.

 

I have a pair of Illusion Spirit jointed hands, and I just checked them against my Soul Doll... they're almost a perfect match! So you might check out IS hands. I believe you can order them through Mint on Card and Alice's Collections.

 

Oh good! Can you perhaps get a photo? I was looking at AC and Mint on Card, but a photo would help with the decision.

I'll have to sell the ones I have first though. >.<'

 

Here you go. I took these pictures with my cell phone in regular incandescent lighting. The IS jointed hands are larger than the Soul Doll hands, but some people might like that. The wrist joint is more prominent though... I actually put one hand on my doll to see, and it is rather obvious that the hand doesn't belong with the doll. But perhaps you're good at modifying and can sand the ball joint a little smaller?

 

Actually, that IS hand doesn't look any stranger then when I had the DZ hands on Nicky. They look pretty close to me, and if I do get a pair I won't have a problem sanding them down. (I have tools for almost anything...)

Hi! I like Souldoll Ignis very much, but I not see her sisters almost. Maybe here I will find the owners with this charming doll))

She's cute! I was looking at Ignis the other day...I'm still leaning more towards Delmia though. I have yet to get a girl doll in SD size.

 

I have a Lampard and his head is a bit smaller than my other sd sized boys too, but not that much...yeesh, that's really too bad.

I am looking to purchase a Rye sometime this spring, does anyone know if anyone has one of these girls yet?

 

Much better! This is a Doll in Mind custom head I purchased off eBay. The skin tone isn't exact, but it'll be hard to tell the difference once I've done the faceup. I'm much happier with this! And so is Randy (Morse).

 

AWESOME! OuO He looks pretty awesome with the new head! You can't really tell all that much, imo. I think a faceup would also remedy the slight difference.

-now if I can just get new hands, life will be fabulous-

Xphobiax- Thank you! Aww too bad about the hands. I just got some heel feet from Souldoll and I'm not sure if Souldoll has changed their resin colour or if my girl is just extremely yellow (I got her secondhand) but they don't match at all.
Firelakie - Thanks you so much, she doesn't have the default faceup but I had her painted sort of similarly. I adore her. Actually, since that photo was taken a few weeks ago I managed to chip her faceup and have to have it redone. I am so sad! ;__; You should definitely get a Star, they are so beautiful.
Innelda - Aw, thanks. I actually don't watch big bang theory at all but I looked her up and I can sort of see it!
Harley - Aw that's too bad about your doll but I'm glad it's going well with the new head! My Star's head is really small too, but I've gotten used to it. I'm kind of glad because she can share wigs with my MSDs.

 

So I was able to sell my DZ hands and Bought the IS NS Pink hands. >u< Hopefully they will work! I will take photos too.

i was wondering, what's a good wig size for the souldoll double? trying to find a good wig for my incoming boy and I don't want it to be too big or too small >x>;;; I've been looking a lot at Luts' wigs....are those a good fit?

 

I don't know about the boys, but my Gisele wears a 7-8 Crobidoll wig now. :3

Oh! I forgot to update here, but my mum bought me an Iplehouse JID dress for my girl, and it fits PERFECTLY, so, if anyone needs another source for Soul-Double girl clothes, Iplehouse JID clothes will fit!
