So Souldoll is not going to do faceups at all for these guys. I asked...I figured but had to ask. So now I need to find faceup artists for four heads. It really sucks because the faceup on Lampard is perfect for the character. I need to find someone with a similar feel.

 

You might be able to find someone willing to do a faceup really close to what their factory faceups are. I know some people have been willing to touch up company faceups/repaint damaged ones to look like company faceups before... at least I've read that some where on here.

 

I feel the same way about Lampard's default faceup, it's quite frustrating. If I can find a faceup artist who's willing to do a reasonable facsimile thereof before you do, Clorista, I'll PM you to let you know. That being said, I'm still working out the timing of my order/what on earth I'm actually ordering, but there's no way I can pass on a Lampard.

None of the body's I mentioned have a torso joint, I personally really dislike them for my SD's because it makes them so much more complicated to handle XD

Aria's bodysculpt has been bought by Switch btw, I have no idea how the match would be but it does have double jointed knee's and elbows. They did however broaden the shoulders so their own heads would fit better on it, I have no idea how that would affect the fit of a SD head on the body.

Also, April story has a new line of body's called Classe, and those have a torso joint and are quite well sculpted and they have a big range of shapes/styles. I also think that it would probably be a decent resin match. April story's resin does yellow a lot faster then SD's though.

And don't worry, I'm just as picky as you are so this sounds all to familiar XD A character is not only the headsculpt but also the body, and for me the hands are very important

 

I'll order Xylene today, just in time.

Thanks heidipay, I'll do the same. Funny thing with Lampard was I was so sure I wasn't going to ever get him just go look at his pretty face. But now that he is going away for ever I must have him.

I feel weird taking all this time to figure things out I have this urge to just click the order button but I am trying to repress that till next month. I have to keep reminding myself I have until August 31st. Sadly I think I am going to have to pass on Giselle and Leroy. I just don't see them in the budget, which really sucks. But Lampard, Yurr, Juhl, and Hye are must haves and I can't justify more then four. Maybe they will reboot the line and bring in some supper pretty sculpts that look like Leroy and Giselle.

 

The April story bodies are pretty but the neck circumference is too big and the larger body (although only .6cm too big in the neck) isnt as appealing... the torso is slightly too long below the joint and the legs dont flow into the hips well enough for me... although I do like the rest of the sculpting... where as I like everything on the smaller body (54cm one) except the sculpting on the neck.... so went to see the neck circumference and of course it is too big :/ I've never really done mod work and I dont think sanding down the neck would work since it is 9+ cms and I need an 8cm or smaller neck for the souldoll heads. -sigh- I'm not comfortable with sending dolls off for mods or painting either so that's out too. I guess I'll have to keep looking. I didnt see any other girl bodies on their site other than those two.

Yeah I know about switch modding the ariadoll body. I really like the original design and I still kind of like the switch version but I dont remember the neck circumference... I'll have to look... and then I'll compare shoulder width with souldoll's double body. The only part about the switch remake I dont like is the fact that they completely ruined the stomach area by making it slimmer trying to make it more appealing. But instead they made it look stiff and like the body had a tummy tuck and the skin is too tight there now.

..... okay just checked and the Switch body has a 9.2cm neck which wont work and still hate the stomach/hip re-sculpt so... that's out. lol

I only thought about it for like less than a day I think. lol. I'd been thinking about getting them since I saw the discontinuation though.. .so once they threw the heads up for sale separately, I just put them in the cart and stared at them for awhile and then just said "to heck with it" XD If it werent for the 30% off, I wouldnt even have dared to try to get them.

 

That makes me even more anxious! Of course, if they are planning a revamp they won't spill the beans! It's a shame though, all those beautiful sculpts... I'm in the same boat. I can pick up a few more heads but I refuse to let my floating head collection grow! My current babies need bodies ; ;

 

Exactly--I get that they may be doing a Sweeter style renewal...I mean, this can't be an unpopular size, for goodness sakes, I adore the Soul-Double size! But at the same time it's like this choice between finishing dolls I already love, and getting the dolls I want to love! Today, I'm more tempted to get Lampard on a body, get a girl body, and then figure out which heads I want, with an eye to getting bodes later on.

Tomorrow, I shall feel differently.

Ughhh, the release of the new bodies and selling off of all the old MUST be why I was told Hye, who I ordered 2 months ago, is going to take at least another 3 months?!? Is that right? I was so mad! I'm not naturally a patient kinda person, so the whole 2 months under my belt automatically set me on the sainthood list. But three more months?? I....just....hulk smash!!! i ordered through alicecollections....have any of y'all had incidents like this?

 

Yes, when ordering through a seller like that, you need to typically add at least a month to turnaround time, and I usually add two. Sadly, because these are bulk orders that are usually placed once a month, they're going to take longer to ship out as well. I try to find out when the order's going to be placed for that company so I get my order in just prior to that time--it cuts down on the 'perceived waiting period' for me. And events, I typically add another month to my expectation time, and of course this is a multi-faceted summer event they're having right now. I'll cross my fingers that they're going to end up getting him to you a little sooner than expected though, it's happened to me before too.

Whoa! Did you hear that load cracking kinda "BANG" sound? Sigh, that was my face hitting my desk...The crack was my heart. That's lousy! I should have researched this better like you do. I guess we all have to find out in some way shape or form...some of them more painful than others.

Dont worry. I'm a little out of my depth with waiting too. All the other dolls I've ordered have gotten home fairly quick. my last doll only took something like 6 weeks. The one before that took about 3-4 months but that's because he was on layaway. Then just before him, another one only took a month. I just ordered 2 heads and I'm not expecting to get them home until at least October. I'm hoping they arrive in August though.

 

I don't want anymore heads, but at this point I don't want to loose the sculpts. Huge sighs. The wait time is not as big a thing for me as I wasn't planning on getting anyone for awhile till this sprang up on me. (aint that always the way?) I don't think Alice Collections is the one adding to the delay. I have ordered from them allot before and they are very good at getting things to you asap. But then again I haven't ordered Souldoll from them before.

I think as far as bodies are concerned I am going to order two with bodies and get the other two as floating heads. That is the limit of my budget and its pushing it. But I won't have as many bodies to buy and if they turn out some great new bodies I can upgrade them fairly easily. Does anyone have the girl body? I am trying to decide if I want to do Hye and Lampard as full dolls or just do Lampard and Yurr.

 

I wish I could get them with bodies.... trying to find ones for hybrids is driving me nuts. So far I've settled on getting them F60 bodies. I'd like the old version, but I dont know if Fairyland is going to ever sell them separately again. I hope they at least sell the Moe's separate at some point. I dont understand why that line and their bigger lines are always sold out.... -sigh-

 

Yeah, I've been looking for a head for a DC body. I do my own face ups and Ive kinda found getting a DC face just right is a little difficult! Or maybe I'm just too critical of my own work. I really like the DC body sculpts tho.

 

I'm cry. YURR is going away. I own a yurr. Maybe I should buy another Yurr. OnO

Just get yourself an extra head like I did! You'll have a head in case anything happens to the original, and I'm also planning to do a face-up with a different kind of expression so she can switch

 

I will prolly get an extra head, though the neck hole is super wide on the Yurr head. In total there are about 4-ish Yurrs on this forum. lol I've been lurking in this topic for a while. I had to wait 6 months for a body from Souldoll. However, I love my double joint body.

I might buy 2 Yurr heads. >.> lol!
